Just to give some context, someone in the audience had just said how much the guys on the bench looked like a police line-up so Johnny just started confessing to everything
I've seen this clip so many times and never knew that was why he started confessing
Never knew how this started, cool fact, thanks!
Same seen this a few times and didn't know how it started
The regulars are all disabled. The host Adam Hills has a missing foot. Alex Brooker has one leg and two deformed arms and Josh Widdicombe is a vegetarian.
😂 I see what you did there! 👍
Vegans really are more special needs.
Literal laugh out loud at vegetarian comment
ayyy lmao
Is vegetarianism considered disability now? 😂
Johnny isn't crazy, he's a fucking genius. His timing in this was perfection, he left just enough time between bits for people to nearly compose themselves before hitting them again.
Damn right. he's a comedy Angel.
Johnny Vegas is just pure comedy gold, you have no idea where he is going with anything he says.
lol that`s because he has no idea either .. he just goes where he feels, thats why hes so brilliant, n thats why we rarely see him on shows now, they are scared, which is a shame, the viewers aren`t .
I've met Johnny Vegas. In 2012 I was working with security for the London Olympic Games. JV was having a sneaky cigarette outside the security area I was working in, of course, we all wanted a photo with him. When I was having a photo taken with him he said, "Let's make it look like we have a history", and he licked my ear! How could I object, I couldn't stop laughing. He's brilliant.
The Last Leg was initially a comedic chat show meant for the Paralympics Games- Two of the regulars (Alex and host Adam) are disabled but never let life pause! But it got soo soo soo popular it’s on multiple seasons a year with a comedic lighthearted look at the news of the week! Very funny, and very easy to understand news for is normal folk!! The best bit is it’s LIVE
I was going to say this, but you said it far better than I could
"The best bit is it’s LIVE" and that is Johnny's drug ^^
It's an OK but show but most of it is social media level woke. No not because it features people with disabilities! I know the easily triggered were hoping to pounce on that line. Personally, I'm totally for the totally even playing field, but some shows (like this one) being a prime example take wokeness so far that it becomes positive descrimination. It takes people's desire for a totally fair world and equates that to left of centre politics, which is not the case. To me, comedy should be politics free and most comedians achieve this, but not this show. Note that me just me saying this will get hate responses. Except that me saying that last sentence will mean that people carefully word their hate responses. LOL
Josh is also severely disabled; he's ginger.
It's gone too political all the time.. and only far left politics.. not that I'm a tory.. it just seems agenda driven typical c4/bbc shit
'Balls deep in carp he was' is one of the funniest lines ever.
Agreed
Johnny Vegas (real name Michael Joesph Pennington) went to seminary school at 11 to begin training as a priest, but left after 4 terms when he was told he'd never be able to have sex.
He's also a very talented potter and has had pieces of his work exhibited in the Victorian & Albert museum.
He's also had a colourful relationship with alcohol in the past, often drinking two bottles of vodka a day, but since the birth of his son he has calmed down on the drink thank God.
And obviously, Johnny is a very funny man, and a good and decent man to boot.
Johnny Vegas is brilliant , he's on a whole different level. You can see why he's the comedian that comedians go to see.
Johnny Vegas is quite the guy. It's actually his stage name. He plays a pathetic melancholic drunk, but in reality is a really sweet and artistic guy. He actually has a fine arts degree and does pottery and such. I think in recent years he's stopped with the Johnny Vegas character and be more of a good example and support to those in need. His shows aren't really standup, but more hilarious one-man theater shows. Here's a crazy show he did at the Melbourne Comedy Festival, it's got a bit of Chris Farley energy: ua-cam.com/video/QSbnkTaRfn8/v-deo.html
I will always remember the poem he did on 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. Everyone was expecting it to be something silly and surreal but what he wrote was so artistic and beautiful, even John Cooper Clarke stood up to applaud. ua-cam.com/video/JADmrVVz3bI/v-deo.html
He used to _live_ the Johnny Vegas persona but then he quit drinking. He still does the character but he’s sober throughout.
I saw him that year at his gig at the Melbourne Comedy Festival. He was hilarious. I love him.
He still goes as Johnny Vegas and used to be a drunk. Did many a live show pissed.
@@realburglazofficial2613 In an interview I saw, he said he quit drinking, because of his son....I just wish my dad had the guts to....
Johnny is much subtler and clever than the image he projects and has been on many chat / panel game shows which are a staple of British viewing . If you like it try reacting to Would I Lie to you or Taskmaster in addition to 8 out of 10 cats . They can be totally bonkers at times and always entertaining . I think you would like them.
When he divorced his first wife, the reason he put for the relationship breaking down was that his wife had 'excessive wind', and that got read out in court.
When he married his first wife, there was a Viz special featuring a photoshoot of the newlyweds with the front cover proclaiming they had sold their wedding photos to Viz for £1 😂
That's class. I haven't heard that before.. But would make total sense with him 🤣
Johnny Vegas is a treasure. As you've probably noticed, he's very good at absurdist "where the f did he get that idea from" kind of comedy. He's off the wall, and I think Milton Jones and Vegas do share some comedic space, but their actual styles are very different.
He’s the master of “Drunk” comedy!
Reeves and Mortimer also operate on a similar plane at times and Joe Wilkinson. All treasures.
Johnny vegas has battled alcoholisim and as a result has a surreal yet intense form of comedy. On the flip side he is a very left-wing individual and always mocks himself in his style. He is ferociously intelligent but so far leftfield he's teh guy you need a full night's sleep to get to grips with. If he were an ale he would be the 8% belgian beer you have at the end of the night not the 4% warm-up blonde IPA.
You had me till you dissed my favourite beer IPA, which has an average alcohol content of well over 5%. The story of IPA is also interesting (I’m now boring myself, so I’ll stop).
@@markhayo I was not mocking the IPA! I was merely stating it's a starter beer on a session rather than the end one which would be your 8% blow your socks off johnny Vegas beer.
He did a comic aid gig absolutely drunk and started snogging someone's girlfriend in the audience, the stage manager had to reel him in🤣
Look up Johnny Vegas comic aid it is definitely worth a watch
Oh man, I could not believe it when I saw it, her husbands face lmao 🤣
The shows called "The last leg," it was aired as a para-olympic review show but people loved it so it became it's own show.
Thomas the wankengine!!!!!
We have lots of panel shows and "game shows" where it's less about the game or news or whatever and more about just constantly giving comedians topics to discuss or riff off.
I agree with someone else's comment. You should watch Bob Mortimer on "Would I Lie To You". That's a game show where one team/person gets a card with a typically outrageous statement and then has to tell the story about what happened. The other team has to work out if they were telling the truth or lying.
"The Last Leg" was a show started around the time of the 2012 Paralympics in London. They talk about the current events in England and worldwide. Adam Hills, the main host, was born with only one leg, so I'm guessing that's why it's named that. The show is as insightful as it is hilarious. If you get a chance to catch some clips from the show, I highly recommend them.
@David Page Whoops! My error in phrasing. Thanks for catching it.
Was on Friday night 22/7/22
Alex Brooker also has only one foot, so between the regular presenters, they have four feet between tham.
Hills actually was born minus a foot, not a leg. The term "Last Leg" actually comes from the Relay, where a number of runners carry the baton for a set distance (a leg) and the "last leg " is covered by a team's last runner. It's also a pune "or play on words" ((c) Terry Pratchett) covering disability.
Joe Wilkinson on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown is hysterical
Was that the poem that made Sean Lock crack up? 😂
@@MissNikNak1 not certain but knowing him yes
Most of these guys have appeared on “8 out of 10 cats does countdown” or “Would i lie to you”. Try best of Jonny Vegas on 8 out of 10 cats. His acceptance speeches and arwards presentations are also legendary over here. Can i also suggest you watch Joe Wilkinson’s poem on 8 out of 10 cats.
Joe's poem really is comedy gold!
Johnny Vegas-Comic aid......An absolute must as he makes the audience cower
Johnny used to be an alcoholic, he's an excellent artist and well known potter. Watch the 8 out of 10 cats episode where he does his poem, outstanding
You may struggle to understand Johnny's accent. But persevere, he's worth the effort.
St Helens, they struggle to understand themselves
Johnny Vegas is a comedian, actor, writer and a director.
And has a degree in ceramics 🤪
@@steddie4514. That is true, plus making things out of clay.
Bob Mortimer is a national treasure and his stuff on "Would I Lie To You" WILTY will leave you saying I wish my life was 1/10th what his was
Johnny Vegas will just deliberately set out to disrupt a show whenever he's in the mood.
This is one of the best Johnny vegas clips, the guy is so funny, watch his tv series IDEAL. "Don't make me get my screwdriver"-psycho Paul" 😂
cartoon head :)
``Ideal'' is the most fun tv series produced imo. I have to rewatch it again
@@roy7758 I gotta buy it from Amazon on offer 17 quid entire series, a no brainer. Psycho pauuuuul.
@@allanallen1835 im on probation..i have all seven seasons..Have looked for them on Bluray, but no luck
Jonny Vegas has done a tv series called" ideal" about a hash, weed dealer, its brilliantly funny and will give you an insight into his work
Ah, you've reacted to one of my favourite clips, and one of my favourite comedians. Johnny Vegas is hilarious, but he's also very talented, a bit of a renaissance man - check out his work on 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown - his poem is both heartbreakingly beautiful and funny, his artwork is sublime, and he's a pretty good potter too.
The Last Leg is awesome. It’s more of a chat show that started off as comedians with a disability coming together, but the chemistry proved to be such a hit and they do some bonkers stuff on there :)
Started for the 2012 Paralympic Games looking back at the days events. Described by host Adam Hills as "Three guys with 4 legs talking about the week".
One of the most kindest people you would meet & met him a few times in St Helens when I have traveled up for the Rugby good laugh aswell.
his comedic timing in this bit is pure perfection
What I like is he waits just long enough for everyone to calm down a little and then sets them off all over again. And all with a completely straight face
This is my favourite Johnny Vegas clip of all time…fishing will never be the same 🤣🤣🤣
They're not really game shows they're more like panel shows full of comedians that are loosely based on a team based show a majority of them are based on taking the mickey out of politicians like Have I got news for you and Mock the Week that's where Frankie Boyle made his name with the very near the knuckle jokes still almost never broadcast
Game shows in the UK usually on between 2 and 6 The Chase can be funny out because they have some funny answers you should check that out
Great reaction, mate.
Background to this clip was that during the warm up, someone commented that it looked like a police line up.
That's why Johnny Vegas shouted "I did it"
After that it was typical Johnny Vegas.
His shows are just as mad. Once he gets on a roll, it's almost impossible to get him to stop.
Most hosts are terrified of what he'll get up to, and he often disrupts shows. But he's always funny.
He had a bad time when he became an alcoholic, and would frequently turn up to shows drunk.
He found that people laughed when he let rip with the crazy stuff
Johnny Vegas is his stage name that emerged from his early career, and although he is a reformed alcoholic, the Vegas character still reflects his early career.
He is actually a very intelligent and clever person, and I lived in the next door town to him. I met him in the town one day, and he was happy to stop and chat for a few minutes.
He is a talented artist and has won awards for his sculpting.
Yes, he was playing/impersonating a character in the clip, but he was impersonating himself from the days when he was often drunk and didn't care what he said.
They were just trying to film a quick trailer for the show....
Johnny is a national treasure. Very funny man with a heart of gold.
The series " Benidorm " has Johnny at his best in it & also happens to be some of the best comical insight you can get into our British love/hate affair with the Spanish resort that was taken over by Brits from all classes & communities since the early 80's. The wealth of acting & original comedy in Benidorm is sorely missed from our screens. Netflix has the complete series.
Oh you just reminded me that I have rewatch that series- love it
There goes my weekend...
@@splums 😅🤣😂 I must be on my 4th restart of the series... We need to pace ourselves...The is NOTHING being made that will ever be as politically incorrect & funny as Benidorm, and hopefully we have many years left to live. So pace yourself lol
Been waiting for this one!
Johnny Vegas is so Comical, So Original. HYSTERICAL.
Johnny Vegas always seems to enjoy making his fellow comedians break and just cause general havoc. He says some of the craziest things but is almost always hysterically funny. He also happens to be an amazing artist and poet.
Another great reaction as always.
Know Johnny, live around the corner from him and often see him shopping in our local supermarket......top top bloke that grew up in our working class town.😅
You should react to when Johnny Vegas presents an award on The British Comedy Awards....soooo hilarious. Or his story about beauty's castle on 8 out of 10 cats!
I am from St Helens, where Johnny (Michael) comes from, and he still lives there. His act is semi-real now as he got through comedy thanks to a split personality and plenty of beer. Taylor Park is a thirty-minute walk from where I live. He is tremendous and a force of nature. He is a really nice guy and does a lot of charitable work; he is as funny as you can get and is fearless! I think the 'Last leg' was a show initially for disabled people, and the show host has only one leg!; from what I know.
Since having a kid, he is soberer now but just as funny. A true guy, and a guy who could get Sean Lock laughing; that's an achievement!
Brilliant as always!
And yes Johhny Vegas is certainly a treasure!
Thanks for this!
The Last Leg is not a game show. The man behind the desk is Adam Hills an Australian comedian with one leg, Alex in the orange shirt has one leg and misformed hands. Josh is a comedian and the only one with all working parts. The show started in 2012 when they commented on the Paralympics, had paralympians and assorted guests talking seriously and humorously about their lives. The show was so popular that it has run intermittently ever since. During the games it acts as a cheerleader for the athletes and a forum for their problems and opinions. When the games are not on it comes on air with a mixture of competitors, celebrities and comedians. It can be movingly serious or hysterically funny.
Loving your reactions fella
Johnny is the comedian that makes other comedians laugh cause he's totally unpredictable. No one knows what he's gonna say and always catches people of guard.
I love love youe videos brilliant so funny just makes me smile so much thanks for uploading as much as you do 🤗
A recommendation I would suggest is Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie To You? Love your stuff man keep it up lad.
You beat me to it..lol
@@sheilathompsett2570 Lol. He's such a funny guy especially on that show his stories and the way he delivers them are amazing.
@@Ryan-bs6kn love the way David Mitchell just feeds off his stories with his sarcasm..
@@sheilathompsett2570 100% Agree. The perfect combination.
Johnny is amazing he can just have you rolling around laughing, thanks man
Jonny Vegas is from St Helen’s. Surprised you understand him more than you do Micky Flanagan.
He’s always like that. He’s usually more drunk . He was totally out of it when he did Comic Relief one year. It was unbelievable watching it. That’s an annual show that asks the TV audience to raise money for charity and loads of children tune in as it’s a bit daft.
This isn’t a quiz show. They put, “Last Leg”, together for the Paralympics. Most of the team have so called disabilities. (Josh Widdecombe is just petite.) They just commented on the Games and had a laugh. It was so good the TV channel kept it going.
he's not usually drunk that's in the past., he's sober now. it's an act.
He’s just a live wire and I love him always so random and just says what pops in his head lol 😂
Boomer you should do more of Vegas.
The two I'd recommend are comic aid and presents an award
These were both when he was at his wildest
Omg, Johnny Vegas is probably the most unpredictable guy you'll ever meet and he's funny af! 🤣
The Last Leg isn't a game show. It's a chat show. It was orginially created to cover the paralympics, but became popular. Now it has 2 series a year.
Johnny Vegas is a genius. It is all extremely well timed and deliberate.
I think you may enjoy the tv series "Benidorm" with Johnny Vagas in it. It's a comedy about Brits on holiday in Benidorm, Spain.
lol i love how you keep getting things pop up in your recommended and just have to watch them, that's exactly what happens lol. it's a very deep rabbithole
For pure "Vegas" check out Johnny presenting the 'Best Newcomer Award' at the 1992 BAFTA Comedy Award show - which went out LIVE!- to a young actor, a year after he had one the same award. I watched this live at the time and I was on the floor, aching with laughter: best award presentation I had ever seen. In the same Award Show, brilliant British Comedy actress Kathy Burke also gave one of the funniest acceptance speeches of all time....both clips are on you tube.
I love Johnny Vegas, always has everyone in stitches on panel shows, he's great on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown 😂
King, I’ve had some family trouble the past couple months and haven’t really been in the mindset for UA-cam or anything of the sort. Came back to see you absolutely smashing it! 💯 glad to see you reap the rewards for your hard work. Love from England brother 👊🏼
Thanks man! Hope everything is getting better.
@@KingBoomer you’re more than welcome. Everything’s on the up and up, thank you bro 💪🏻
This is probably gonna sound dead nerdy. However strictly speaking they called “panel shows”.
They mostly take the form of game shows, but can be political satire (Like The Last Leg is) or other genres.
Sometimes points are awarded on how funny the answer is rather than it being the correct one (Especially on the radio versions)
Laughter (and love, man) is all you need.
Cracks me up each time. This is pure full fat comedy Gold!
was totally gonna suggest this, but someone beat me to it. Always laugh when i see it!
When I first saw Johnny I did think much of him, but this programme asked him to commentate on the Paralympics and his whole life changed, he suddenly became more humble by the things he had seen, Loved his series on trying to open a camping site using buses and caravans all glammed up, he is is the middle of making a show or about buying old helicopters and hanging them from trees as tree houses for holidays he seems like a nice guy.
The Last Leg was originally a comic round up of the 2012 Para Olympic Games. Hosted by Adam Hills (born with limb difference / Amputation). It was so popular it is still on air a decade later. It maintains a strong disability focus. I suppose it is roughly equivalent to US talk shows with monologues and news analysis.
Love this ❤️ .. I've been a fan of American Comedy since. Bilko .
Great to see an American Cousin appreciating the UK's humour
So Johnny Vegas..
is indeed a character based on himself..
well spotted he is highly successful writer and director as well .
Watch. James Acaster
Johnny Vegas - never ever let him start talking. Once he starts he never stops, you've no idea what he'll say next, and it's always very funny.
Johnny Vegas crazy you have no idea lol 😂😂😂 he's brilliant 👏👏👏
Johnny Vagus is well known as a comic, and as a skilled potter. He has starred in a sitcom, and is generally loved.
This is more of a chat/topical affairs show. Johnny Vegas is a genuine national treasure.
I went to see a live taping of this show once. They had to film a promo like this for Aussie television. They actually took away the two guests that week before starting it. (Rosie Jones and Sean Locke) I like to think they took them away early because of Johnny Vegas doing this.
I remember the first time I ever saw Vegas on TV back in the mid 90's, _Shooting Stars._ Now THAT was a funny program! And FAR more 'up his street' than this!
I met Johnny a few years ago while out on the piss.... He is such an amazingly nice bloke IRL
"You know what fish are like, they look shocked enough....."
That's a line that needs to be slipped into conversation at least once a month.
The last leg originates by talking about sport ( Para Olympics) Johnny Vegas is an Actor and Comedian. He is absolutely hilarious. He is a comedy genius
Johnny spent lockdown delivering meals to the elderly and vulnerable of his home town.
I can agree with that as I live in his home town. He is actually a nice guy. He did the recording for the Saints' rugby telephone recording once (the local town's rugby side and a very good rugby side); it was hilarious.
I come from the same town as this chap. My brother once worked with him on a BBC Radio 4 production. Met him once. Nice chap - likes his brown ale.
Johnny Vegas and Johnny Depp in the Club At St Helens would have been mental
in the UK we have Panel Shows, been around for a very long time. They might look like game shows at first but there's usually no prize and only features comedians or other celebrities. They have become the pinnacle of many comedians careers as exposure on these shows leads to massive increases in ticket sales etc.
There's a big variety in the panel shows themselves but all take a comedic or satirical slant. There's the more "mature" ones like Have I Got News For You (Which often features politicians as guests) or QI (Quite Interesting) that talk about the weekly news or obscure knowledge you never knew you gave a crap about. Then there's more light-hearted ones like Would I Lie To You or Mock The Week.
Eight out of Ten Cats is another one that used random statistics as the basis for its questions. The cast did a one off takeover of the very long running actual gameshow Countdown for charity one year and it went so well they made it into a series all its own, Eight Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown.
Basically its a different style of show that as far as I know, you don't get in the States, or any where else for that matter.
The last leg 😂 Johnny is a very clever and funny guy😆
This show is called the last leg. Two of the hosts have prosthetic legs, it started as a magazine show covering the para Olympics..
This is crazy, I live in the same town as this dude.
He mentions 'Taylor Park' at 1:30. He has a house right by that park. I know because I used to live in the same area and I've met him a bunch of times.
The second time I met him, I asked for an autograph and he remembered my name from the first time.
Also you asked about the design on his shirt. That is the 'Lying cat' from a series of comic books called Saga.
It is basically a news round up show where 3 hosts talk about the main news events. They usually have 1 or 2 guests on to give their opinions, sometimes they have a comedian on or someone relevant to that weeks news. With the host having only one leg and co-host Alex Brooker having malformed limbs they often shine a light on events and organisations/charities that are doing something in the news regarding disabilities or sexual orientation.
It is a really fun watch and it goes out live so it often goes very wrong. lol. It's free to watch on the 4OD website And usually goes without any copyright issues. I've seen full episodes and seasons on some reactors channels.
Johnny Vegas is an actor and comedian. (And many other things. The man is skilled.) I always love him on these kind of game, talk or panel shows where he gets some room to go off the rails. His mind must work differently than others and it's quick too.
This one is maybe even overkill when seeing him for the first time. He's totally killing the other comedians. I can recommend when he's on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Taskmaster or QI. British gameshows with mainly comedians participating. You never know what's up when he's on, but it's never dull.
Johnny is that nuts LOL. He is the destroyer of undergarments.
The Last leg started as a comedy news show about the Para Olympics and has continued Jonny isn't on every week but the others are, it's a great show that takes the piss out of a lot, Jonny has done this on many shows one of the best times was on Celebrity Juice
Watch all the Jonny Vegas videos you can find... he's brilliant! What you see here is Jonny being Jonny... he is the same if you meet him out shopping!
The Last Leg, as described by host Adam Hills, is 'Three blokes with four legs talking about the news'!
The last leg started out as comentary/ highlights show for the para Olympics in 2012 . It was really popular and went on to be a kind of chat show highlighting social and political issues as well as disability rights as well as para sports. They have comedians as well as poticians as guests (a good one to watch is where they have Baroness Warsi a Conservative peer and Frankie Boyle)
I think this was JV 1st time on this show he has been back almost every series since . JV is also a passionate supporter of para sports . There are clips of him( I think it was Brazil para Olympics) really cheer leading for the British Para Olympic team .
Just recently found your channel and watched quite a few videos already. I would recommend QI, particularly David Mitchell’s angry logic
This one (I think)
ua-cam.com/video/4TVzeKZ2X-A/v-deo.html
He did a bit once where he did pottery whilst having a mental breakdown. Bloody genius
Jonny Vegas is the man who can make Sean Lock helpless with laughter. Watch 8 out of 10 cats where Jonny has a large model head of himself.
That is Johnny Vegas being Johnny Vegas (not his real name by the way!)
The Last Leg is a comedy satire chat show which discusses the weeks events and has various guests on, along with the resident duo of Alex Brooker, Josh Widdicombe. Adam Hills is the host. The show is named because Adam only has one leg!
All 3 are comedians in their own right, and each one has a disability. Josh's disability is less known, but he has Pectus Excavatum, which is also known as Funnel Chest
You should watch WILTY. it's way more crazy. You liked Lee Mack with his Carrot in a box yesterday and he wasn't there at his greatest. Try "Mack and Keys" video and once, you are hooked, go for others (Henning Wenn, Bob Mortimer and others). It's crazy good.
It is called the last leg . It is with Josh widcombe ,alex Brooker, Adam hills. It started off as a one off at the Paralympics but it got picked up by the bbc . It is a live late night chat show on Friday . They talk about politics and have celebrity guests . Adam hills and alex decker are disabled
love to you and queen boomer adore you folks x
