44:55 two things to add to objects you got a whoopin with as a child. 1. A baccer stalk. If you’ve never been whooped with a baccer stalk, thank the good Lord lol. 2. Your daddy handing you his pocket knife to go cut him a switch for him to whoop you with. Lord forbid you brought back a dead, brittle limb because then you got a whoopin with it until it broke, then he went and cut a young limber limb and whooped you with it too. I look back on these memories and am grateful my parents busted my rear end and taught me right from wrong.
Oh man! My momma told me the same thing about the iron, and I had to push it. I didn’t make it to the iron, but I knocked it over and that hot water left streaks of blisters across my hand, hahaha.. thanks for helping me remember something that was a funny moment with my mom.. Lol, in a time long ago, before your lawn mower had the safety bar that shuts down the engine. I was at a Toro dealer buying a push mower and the safety bar was just being used. He claimed that Toro was the one who first started installing it on their mower because of a lawsuit. A customer bought a push mower and attempted to pick it up by the deck while running to trim his hedges. Of course he lost fingers on both hands. Even though warning labels were on the deck it didn't matter, he was NEVER told NOT to do it from the dealer. Toro lost the suit and designed the safety/shut off bar. Also, if so inclined, research the coffee lawsuit against Mc Ds. She won because of the seriousness of her burns. It was discovered that McDonald's was intentional over heating their coffee to the point it was dangerous. Yes she should not have it between her legs when driving but the burns she received should not have been that severe.
It’s cool to see the McD’s lawsuit accurately represented. Usually people try to use it arguing “in favor” or tort reform, while being oblivious to the facts of the incident.
The exhaust shop that I used to work in had special designed hoists that had rollers that the non drive wheels rolled in as you drove the vehicle in. I was talking to a customer and his son was playing around on one that had no car on it. Dad kept telling the kid to stop, kid wasn't listening to him. I looked at the kid and said to him " If you fall down and get hurt all we are going to do is point and laugh". The kid stopped screwing around.
I love Matco tools but it's hard to do business with them when everything is three month back order. That being said MAC tools is on top of the game, in my area, I might be forced to change teams if Matco can't get tools out to the distributor

To be fair, the McDonald’s coffee lady was not the first one seriously burned with McDonald’s coffee because they brewed their coffee at an excessively hot temperature. They had been warned multiple times that they needed to brew at a lower temperature and the judge slapped the big fine on them to teach them a lesson.
Wow he looks different. She sure has come a long way from when she first started doing videos. You're right, she has really broken out of her shell. You also made a great point about Bill Engval being right about Here's your sign.LOL.
You should be more informed about the McDonalds hot coffee case. Stella Liebeck was a 79-year-old woman in Albuquerque, New Mexico, whose grandson drove her to McDonald’s in 1992. She was in a parked car when the coffee spilled. Liebeck acknowledged that the spill was her fault. What she took issue with was that the coffee was so ridiculously hot - at up to 190 degrees Fahrenheit, near boiling point - that it caused third-degree burns on her legs and genitals, nearly killing her and requiring extensive surgery to treat. McDonald’s apparently knew that this was unsafe. In the decade before Liebeck’s spill, McDonald’s had received 700 reports of people burning themselves. McDonald’s admitted that its coffee was a hazard at such high temperatures. But it continued the practice, enforced by official McDonald’s policy, of heating up its coffee to near-boiling point. (McDonald’s claimed customers wanted the coffee this hot.) Liebeck didn’t want to go to court. She just wanted McDonald’s to pay her medical expenses, estimated at $20,000. McDonald’s only offered $800, leading her to file a lawsuit in 1994. After hearing the evidence, the jury concluded that McDonald’s handling of its coffee was so irresponsible that Liebeck should get much more than $20,000, suggesting she get nearly $2.9 million to send the company a message. Liebeck settled for less than $600,000. And McDonald’s began changing how it heats up its coffee.
Hello again Clay Thank you for another Great Video. I think it was part of the late Paul Harvey, story. Now for the rest of the story segment. The lady in question, did it twice. And then she had both case's before the same Judge. If I remember correctly, she lost both case's. Sorry, I don't remember the year only that I remember his radio broadcast. Again thank you
@@KoonTrucking she sure did, and deserved every penny. There are a lot of cases in courts that represent frivolous claims, and ambulance chasing, but the McD’s coffee lawsuit isn’t one of them. This lady received 3rd degree burns from coffee on her thighs. Plus she was pretty old when this happened. Can’t imagine how painful, or how HOT that coffee had to be to cause 3rd degree burns.
Phew…eleven and half minutes in…I’m going to have to come back to this later today. Is the rumor true about the Better-half getting her own Matco route?!
1980s Cessna was sued by a woman because her husband got drunk. He crashed and was killed. Blamed them due to the fact it was easy to unlock and start.
Clay this question is for Michael Our matco dealer is no longer available in the area We have some tools that are in need of warranty replacement How do we go about getting them replaced Thank you for your help
What he said! My dealer of 10 years retired, he tried to do as much warranty stuff as possible before he left but referred all of us to Matco CS. Rumor is we should be getting a new one within the new year. Its been 3 years now. Probably would not have had much of a wait if it werent for covid
Who puts the plastic shield on the back of the intake on a Chevy Vortec back on? I tell my customers I'm leaving it off because when their oil pressure sensor goes out again they can bring it back to me and I will only charge them $60 instead of the $300 I had to charge the first time. They get onboard real quick. LOL
Hey Clay, This was a great video. I enjoy the longer videos as it gives me time to enjoy them. The shorter ones are good but when you start getting into them they're over. Just my opinion but.... Later
Mr. & Mrs. MATCO need a sign on their truck that reads "Your wife called and she said it was okay" ! Teach your children that life is hard, but if you're stupid, life is harder.
Not gonna lie it sucks that you won’t show the tools and stuff you buy anymore one of my favorite parts of your videos but I do understand people are stupid!!
Clay not only are people sue happy I also blame the attorney and court system. if you're not smart enough to know coffee is hot you shouldn't be left unsupervised.
The McDonalds coffee lady was paraplegic and got 3rd degree burns to her lady parts. Taste inhibitors are for coolant spills or vehicle collisions to keep animals from drinking it.
Hey man I have a question for you. Where did you get your Launch scan tool from and what do you think about the new Launch X431 three please? I really need a answer to these questions because I’m very seriously thinking about getting one of these please man. Any help would certainly be helpful also do you know who sells these items in Florida please man? Thanks alot
I totally understand and agree what you’re saying ab sue happy ppl but you should look into the lady that got burned with McDonald’s coffee. The machine was malfunctioning and the coffee was way too hot like nearly boiling hot and she needed a bunch of skin graphs and I think it nearly killed her bc of infection. That lady wasn’t in the wrong on that one. I used that as an example of sue happy ppl and the guy I was talking to showed me why all that was a totally legitimate reason to sue and win.
Here is the backstory of McDonald's coffee. In 1992 Mrs. Liebeck was in the passenger seat of a stationary vehicle. She put the coffee between her legs in order to put cream and sugar into it. It was hot enough to burn through her sweatpants and then give her 3rd degree burns. Previously McDonald's had received 700 complaints about how hot the coffee was. She recived skin grafts on her inner thigh and "somewhere else".... she asked McDonald's too settle and pay her medical expenses of 20,000 but was declined and only was offered $800. The jury found Mrs. Liebeck to be partially at fault for her injuries, reducing the compensation for her injuries accordingly. But the jury’s desicion award made headlines upset by McDonald’s unwillingness to correct a policy despite hundreds of people suffering injuries, they awarded Liebeck the equivalent of two days’ worth of revenue from coffee sales for the restaurant chain. That wasn’t, however, the end of it. The original damage award was ultimately reduced by more than 80 percent by the judge. And, to avoid what likely would have been years of appeals, Mrs. Liebeck and McDonald’s later reached a confidential settlement.
The way people move around cars when doing brakes seems like the young guys who have never done drove brakes and I think it comes from them learning to work on a lift.
Lady at McDonalds sued because McDonalds knowingly over heated beyond the necessary amount for a temp to keep their coffee hot. It was a known issue that the Judge and Jury paid out. Not from her asking in any way. Just an fyi.
Hey guys I’ve got a question. I moved to a new state. (Florida) And I’ve contacted the Matco dealer in me new area a half a dozen times and he’s told me he’ll come to the plant I work at twice but hasn’t ever showed up. The first time he said it was a family emergency so that’s was no big deal. Things happen I just said I hope everything is ok and to holler whenever he can make it up my way but the second time he just never did contact me again. There aren’t any other tool trucks in my area bc the snap on guy didn’t renew his contract so I’m sol on going with another brand. The Matco guy told me that he was covered up and his area really needed to be resurveyed bc he had like 35 shops that day he called me back. I know there’s probably nothing else I can do but I’d like to get y’all’s thoughts. Love your videos and keep it up. Oh and clay… Go Dawgs! Lol the real dawgs that is. National champion Georgia Bulldogs. 🤣
I didn't realize that was Michael in the front seat, I thought it was a tool rep or distributor. Man what a difference without the beard. Mrs. Lesley always looks nice, she is so sweet. Good video Clay!!!!!

I would card him at the beer store /1
New matco Guy
I want one of them green matco hats! Do they ship?
The way people move around cars when doing brakes seems like the young guys who have never done drove brakes and I think it comes from them learning to work on a lift.
Lady at McDonalds sued because McDonalds knowingly over heated beyond the necessary amount for a temp to keep their coffee hot. It was a known issue that the Judge and Jury paid out. Not from her asking in any way. Just an fyi.
My ex was with me the day I bought a $1,700 knife and a m82. If it doesn't effect the family she didn't care
