On mount Kenya slopes, Chuka is the place, kabutini is the village. It's on a Saturday, 4:30pm after taking a cup of tea with roasted yams (tea served from silverly shiny metallic kettle to our grey metallic cups). We are collecting dry coffee berries in our coffee plantation. My mother is collecting firewood ready to prepare supper. My late father is working on the coffee trees, with his wooden radio with AM frequency only covered in a yellow mat. He's tuned to KBC and this tune is playing. Our ears are glued to the tune as our nerves are being calmed down after working all day long. Young boys from the neighborhood wearing torn & patched khaki shorts are hunting birds with bows and arrows. Some are grazing goats and sheep. Young barefooted girls are from the river to fetch water with pots on their heads, while some are hurriedly collecting firewood in the bushes. The sun is going down in a beautiful horizon. Memories of good old days. Rip Tshala
its 2024 and the song reminds of early 90s.....kids of today if you pass by this song just give a like and listen carefully how the old songs were written and sang by angels😘😘 just a sweet masterpiece
I miss my dad, my mum , my big brother. They're all gone. The song plays in my dad's cassette, in a peaceful grassthatched house, oh I miss the old childhood memories
I've loved this song for over 30 years! The emotion just wrenches me....and TODAY I find out why she sings so deeply. Found the words in English for the very first time...and now I understand. Lovely song. Have to listen again. TSHALA MUANA.
I can play this song repeatedly on flash disc from Mombasa to Busia without boredom. That's how lovely the song is like the chirping of a bird. I love this song by Tshala Muana.
2024 .N imagine when we were kids we never loved this kind of songs but now after growing up we love them coz they give us so many memories since nursery school
After seeing the English translation I realized her language is similar to my language which is LUNDA from Zambia. Our people migrated from Congo. My great great great grandfather who was named after, was a king in Congo.
This is not a human singing, it's an angel singing. They will never make music like this again sadly. This is when music was music and musicians we're people..
Tshala muana you are the best I’ve been listening to this beautiful song since 1988 I was 15 years old and you even came to Kenya I can remember I was in 7th grade and I can’t stop listening to this song thanks Tshala.
This was the video/song that introduced TSHALA MUANA on the Zambian scene way back in 1978,,I thought then that she was probably the hottest female musician on the music scene😍💕🎶👏👏👏
Evertime i listen to this song i becomes so emotional, it reminds me of a time when the earth was young in the early 90's during sunsets out late dad (may he continue rip)would switc his dry cells powered wooden radio and tune to Kbc radio station,i remember the tune playing while i and my siblings were finishing up the day's chores, some washing only their feet ,others cooking and others locking the cows in their sheds, this is soo nostalgic ,i miss those days
A very good song by Tshalla Muana. This is the song which introduced Tshalla to Kenyans after Elizabeth Zani featured it on URTNA-MUSIC FROM AFRICA programme on KBC TV in the late eighties. The original had a very emotional video with a very young and slim Tshalla crying real tears as she belted this classic. Would anyone have that original video and post it?
i've looked for this song all my adult life and oh my, thank you. thank you. so many memories listening to the song in the kitchen mama cooking and my brothers sleepy by the fireside. i get so emotional :(
remember my late grandfather in early 1990s plucking coffee berries listening to KBC ,nostagia, good old days ,never again will those beautiful moments come again in life
July 9th and change will sweep away the wicked politicians and we will have righteous leadership for the first time ever. God bless Kenya and Kenyans. And keep us safe from wickedness.
Reminds me of my village life. Fetching water in River Gitwe and grazing cattle in the forest till the sun sets. Happy families and neighbours, food was in plenty and life was full of love. Weeknd meant for shamba and school days were exciting. The desire to work hard to improve our families.
Finally understood the song!!! The depth is on another level!! Loved this song since I was a little girl though I didn't know what it was about, buy it spoke to me deeply!
