I’m lucky to be Congolese and even luckier to be married to a Kenyan queen so this song has a special place in our relationship!! Absolutely love it and her other songs on the bela canto album and have it on my daily playlist 😊 Long live the matriarch of Congolese female artists!!

Not a single word i understand. Growing up in Uganda born in the early 1980s, I remember these songs growing up. Nairobi - Mbilia Bel. You gave us childhood memories which will live with us till the end of our times...
I think she's talking about a friend of hers, Duni, who is going through an abusive relationship. Marriage, probably. She recalls time she was with her friend in Kenya. They went places; Nairobi, Harambe, Nakuru, et al She feels bad because shes not there to help her friend. She "asks" her friend why she has lowered standards of familihood. (Lokumu yafamilie 😊). She reminds her tht sometimes friendship is worth more than blood. In the end she has decided to go to Nairobi to assist her friend, Duni. "Nakei Nairobi , po nasalisa Duni😂". Pardon spellings.
Thanks Lady Bilia Bel for this great piece of song praising our capital city in Kenya - Nairobi.....We love you May God continue blessing you and we hope our Government will honour and award you for marketing us in a great way....God bless Kenya, God bless Africa

Thank you boss for uploading this song for all of us. I have always felt that this song is very special and emotional. I grew up listening and dancing to these songs in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Her songs are just uniquely superb like no other…. They just make one feel really good, emotional and connected all at the same time with all of Africa; and that we Africans and black people all over the world are one. May God bless her and her band and song writers as much as they blessed and enriched our lives with these great and feel good records for the ages. Amen! And Amen/.

Kenyans have a good taste. That's why our music is so loved in that country. The audience from that brother land contributed to the fame of some of our artists. But it was the Congolese artists who made - although they now make rubbish - our music great!
Grew up from Rural Rwandan province listening to this song, parents dancing and playing the song everyday. Now I have grown up, I realized how masterpiece the song is. God bless Congolese Artist, u made our days and still do.

Well darling explain to me what she was saying about *Nairobi*
She’s basically saying that a childhood friend/love went to Kenya and she’s gone to Nairobi to get them back so they can be together 😊

❤❤I always enjoy this music,,, Joseph Kashala 🎉❤

Toyebani bomwana
Nous nous sommes connus étant enfants
Totamboli Kenya mobimba ngai na yo
