I think Thomas O'Malley is being an overprotective father around Marie and I don't blame her for that I believe that Marie is beginning to have Daddy issues poor little girl!
@Colleen Cartoon It does make me wonder if that was going to be one of the subplots of this sequel had it come out back then, likely building on from the end of the original film where Thomas is officially adopted into the family by Madame Bonfamille. That while the kittens aren't Thomas' children by blood, even with being their stepfather he sees them as HIS children. So maybe that over protectiveness of Marie is something that was going to be addressed at some point in this among everything else.
@@justincook5202 okay okay step daddy issues! Happy? But I wouldn't call him that because sounds more like a Cinderella sing to me! And in Sofia the first once upon a Princess Sofia was excited that she was going to have Amber wash her stepsister and the end Amber said "Sofia! We're sisters!"and I know that cartoon is baby stuff but it was a wonderful cartoon for little girls!
Sometimes I wish they would make the animated series for the Aristocats! What if Thomas O'Malley would have a father and sons bonding with Toulouse and Berlioz and Duchess would have a girl's time out together somewhere at a spa!? And I know that O'Malley is The stepfather of the kittens but it would have been so wonderful if the kittens would ever call him either Papa or father or Daddy or just Dad! I even heard the deleted song from the Aristocats that's called she never felt alone and I thought in the cartoon the kittens would sing that song only the song would be called DAD! Let's just say it would be like a purr-fect Father's Day gift for Thomas O'Malley! And in the series Marie and her brothers would make friends with Allie kittens about their age! And the show would also include Abigail and Amelia Gable and their Uncle Waldo and not to mention Lafayette and Napoleon even if they are dogs they would sometimes help Marie and her brothers!❤
You know, in watching this and the other two storyboard reels that have been up here for years i think Aristocats 2 wouldn't have been that bad actually. Even though a lot of Disney's DTV films were rather subpar both animation and story wise and heavily derided for that fact (at least the ones made in the '90s and very early 2000's with exceptions) this i think would've been one of those on the better end. Plus of course given how much i loved the original film as a small child (and it's still one of my personal favorites among many other Disney classics) I think I would've liked this sequel had it gotten to full animation. Other things of note: - Whoever the actress was who voiced Duchess in this storyboard reel (and the others) nailed it, they really did capture the same feeling vocally that Eva Gabor did in the original. It's a really damn good impression!!! - Crazy hearing Jim "Pete/Dr. Robotnik/Cat" Cummings doing Thomas' voice here, especially considering another VA was doing it in the other two reels. The latter sounded closer to Phil Harris' take actually, while here you just know it's Jim. There's no mistaking that voice, and given he's been one of Disney's go to regular voice actors for many many years that's no surprise. It does make me wonder if Ed Gilbert would've done it had he still been alive at the time this was being made, considering he had done such an amazing impression of Harris' Baloo on TaleSpin after the latter was recast apparently due to some age or health related reasons. - Interesting how they decided to write Marie having a love interest when she's still just a kitten here. - I see they were showing how much of a part of the family that Thomas has become since the end of the original. It's obvious they were giving him the "overprotective father" bit to show even if he is technically the kittens' stepfather that he sees Marie as HIS daughter even if they aren't actually related by blood. Him saying "Who's your daddy-o" when hugging Marie close to him definitely shows how he sees himself as their father even then. I guess to show that he's grown even closer to them since the events of the first film.
@Sam Perry Well if that was her voice in this reel then she did a pretty damn good job at capturing the same style that Eva did in the original film. I'd say it was a good impression.
Be fun to see the whole story board released on Disney+. Why not release all cancelled animated projects that were fully story boarded to Disney+. Especially Kingdom of the Sun
In 2015, I wrote a letter to DisneyToon Studios about The Aristocats, some other things, and to tell them to make the sequel of The Aristocats. A few weeks or months later, they replied back. They sent me two cards of The Aristocats, a letter from them, and my letter back.
Hi, were you waiting for Til Cat to reply you right? I was shocked that this new cat Machello as Marie's future first own lover or future husband/soulmate doesn't speak the same accent as Berlioz or Toulouse, because I was so use to thinking he speaks like her brothers, were you shocked too that his accent you think isn't the accent you expect to think or hear?
@@Kawayoporu Hello again. I wanted other people to read about my experience with DisneyToon Studios, and maybe that Til Cat reads it too. I was not shocked about Machello's accent. His name sounds French or Italian, so maybe his accent should sound French or Italian.
Gees. This shoulded been lovely to see this alternate movie from the Aristocats since the first one in 1970. My mother likes this features films. But what is wrong with people in Disney Toons ? Why didn't they produced "The Aristocats II" ? What happened the cats, Duchesse, O'Malley, Marie, Toulouse and Berlioz ? And Madame Bonfamille who loves her cats very much ? Not to mention Roquefort ? It was succesfull ! I mean, why was it cancelled ?
The reason why this and other sequels were cancelled is because John Lasseter (who became the Creative Consultant after Disney's purchase of Pixar) went in and wanted Disney to focus on making original films, and they started to do just that; they made Tangled, Frozen, Wreck it Ralph, Zootopia, and Moana. These movies are part of the Revival Era for Disney. Now, Disney is focusing on making sequels based on their popular IP, such as Toy Story. Maybe the Aristocats would have a sequel? Who knows?
I really wish they hadn't given up on such an amazing opportunity of the making. This could've been a great Disney film sequel for the holiday season.

Rob Paulsen as Marcello and Tara Strong as Marie too...
