- Hello and welcome to our January Great Loop update from Boca Grande Florida. (and yes we realize that it that posted on Feb 1st. We are on the move and haven't had great internet the last few days ooops LOL). We successfully made it from Chattanooga, TN, back to the loop, down the inland rivers, across the Florida panhandle, across the Gulf of Mexico to Tarpon Springs, and down the east side of Florida in SeaSHINE, our 56-foot Ocean Alexander. Thanks so much for joining our great loop adventure. More detailed videos coming soon now that we have slowed our pace a bit.

I just watched On Fire Family Gulf Crossing video and at the end they mentioned Sea Shine was pulling up the rear of the convoy… has to you all I assumed😊 pretty cool to hear that.
It was us indeed! We had such a great crossing with On Fire Family and all the other boats.
OMG I just put the same wallpaper in my RV! Great minds think alike!!! :)
That is awesome! Great minds do think alike!
Cracked me up. As I do the same when a dolphin or seal (Sea lion) or any sea life shows up. All stops and we check it out. I still do it though I've seen them hundreds of time. I'm enjoying your new take on the boat life from a different perspective. Enjoy the moments, as they go by fast. No worries and taking a break is always best. Why purge the fun memories in life. Agreeing to wait. The loop is in my sights.
Thank you for waiting :). And I hope none of us ever stop to admire sea life!
I know you have a life (plus kids), so all is forgiven. Love all of your honest and transparent to the bone posts. I'm always looking forward to the next one. Go out and make more memories and stay safe.
Awww thank you! Your comment just made our day!
Glad to see you two are happy and healthy keep up the great work! Cheers!
Thanks Donald :)
So happy for you all! Glad you surfaced on UA-cam. Congratulations
Thank you! It feels good to be back on UA-cam. We are excited to have a more time to do videos.
Good to see ya again, I have been binge watching. Can you share the swamp area, the location specifically.
Thanks for watching! Its the Dismal Swamp that empties out near Norfolk VA. Hope that helps :)
I am glad to see your video and happy you are well. Best wishes.
Thank you! You too :)
If you found that overnight out of sight of land a bit much avoid the 17days 6 hours across the Pacific trip from Eureka, CA to HI in a 42 foot sailboat.
I absolutely will! 🤣
Ok as FuzzyNugget just pointed out to me and as the SeaCats agent, she asked how are my clients faring on the loop?? Can we see maybe a short on them??
Thank you safe travels and 🙏
Scott and FuzzyNugget
Great idea! Will work on that!
Great videos! Only question I have where did Mark get or the brand of that bad ass shirt.
It is from a store in Tarpon Springs, FL but I can't remember the name. Cool shop with lots of great t-shirts like this one.
Wow so love what you all are doing and sharing thank you! Looking forward to the boat tour and I am not exactly sure of your plans? Are you all headed to the Bahama’s? Finishing the loop? Take care start safe yall are doing great!
Hi Tripp! We are currently in the Keys then over to the Bahamas for a couple of months. Going to need to make sure we have a boat full (literally) of La Croix before we go. Its the elixir of life on SeaSHINE (and the base of many cocktails) LOL
@@TheBoomershines wow that is great look forward to seeing video’s / pictures of the trip and time in Bahamas. We love the Keys my wife and I got engaged in Key West. If there is an address I can send you some coupons and swag let me know love to set yall up. Take care stay safe, “what is the best that can happen”
Just watched the onFire Family video making an overnight gulf crossing, and heard that SeaSHINE was part of the flotilla. Did you video the crossing as well?
Not yet but we will! We decided to do video recaps of our loop once we are done with the loop. We just have too much on our plate to find time to edit. But wasn't that a fun video? We had a great time crossing with @onFIREFamily!!!
Great videos!! We've been following you since your boat shopping adventures. If you haven't done so already, be sure and get a "Cheeseburger in Paradise." It's well worth the stop.
Thank you! We got one. Fun stop :)
We have a 42 foot boat, and it was a weekend, so it was close quarters for us going in and out of the marina. How did y'all get "SeaShine" in and out for a "Cheeseburger in Paradise"? Or did y'all anchor the boat and dinghy in?
@@greggwolffis7211 Capt. Mark here. We pulled right on in. Port side bow in on the right side of the long dock. That was like wide open spaces compared to some of the navigation on the Loop. Look up the Trent Canal in Ontario:)
@@greggwolffis7211 We docked but if I went again, I'd anchor out.
What months were you in the rivers? Wondering if you had trouble finding marinas open in the winter weather? Or if water wasn't avialable? Those kinds of things.
We started the rivers on September 30th and made it to Mobile on December 10th with most of November spent doing the Chattanooga side trip. Most all the marinas were still open but there were a number of stops that did not have water because the marina had already been winterized or the water was shut off for below freezing temps.
@@TheBoomershines Thanks!
Are you guys coming through Everglades city/Chokoloskee?
We just did! We had a blast - even though we ran aground 😳🤦♀️
Can you comment a little about route in Ontario Canada. Also how was Chicago with all the bridges?
We should do a video about all our stops in Canada. Great suggestion. We were too tall to go thru downtown Chicago, so we went south of Chicago to enter the rivers and just barely made it under the lowest bridge on the loop. We did a funny reel on instagram about it. I should figure out how to post it here.
@@TheBoomershines Try UA-cam shorts :) Same as Reels.
I see you put your boat up for sale... Are you moving up/down or getting out of the boat business?
Going back to land life for a bit. But I am sure there will be another boat in our future.
