We definitly stopped to smell the roses -- at the expense of editing. But now that there aren't as many roses to smell or dolphins to wave at we are posting our VLOG. You may like the new episodes :)

Hey Guys! Good to see you again! We are in the process of buying a 52’er, and we’re learning that Buying a Boat is “not so easy” - Boat # 1 failed survey - owner of Boat # 2 had Sellers Remorse, and decided not to sell it - have Survey/Sea Trial set up for Tuesday for Boat #3, but weather system moving in, so our Survey has been postponed a week - Ugh!
So what you’re telling us is that this video is a “Proof of Life”

Great update yall! We can echo the fact that it's a TON of work to produce UA-cam videos as you're cruising on the loop amongst all of the other things. So grateful to have crossed paths with you guys yesterday and thank you so much for sharing your power adapter with us. Hopefully we'll see you guys again soon 😊

I've been following you guys all long from the beginning. And the quality of your editing really shines through. You guys do such a great job. Although it is not without a huge cost. I know from first hand experience how long it takes to do a quality editing job. Very nice work!!! Please keep up the good work.

Family first, safe travels
OMG, I can so relate to your not having the time to edit. This is Jim Andersen from the Katy Leigh, a 1981 Grand Banks Classic. I bought the boat in Panama City FL last winter, and I had to deliver it to Boston in May/June time period. So this trip was about 1/3 of the Great Loop experience. The rest of the loop would be in my future some day. But first things first. I had to hire a captain (Captain Paul Bates from No Regrets Lifestyle UA-cam channel), and we both had every intention of putting daily videos up on his channel and mine (CatBoat Adventures). Paul was more successful than I and did put together about 30 videos of the trip, but they were mostly done with very little editing. Mostly quick daily updates. But the quality of the videos weren't the best. But he did do a much better job than I did. I ended up putting 5 videos together for my channel with a lot of drone footage (until I crashed the drone into the Dismal Swamp) and they required a whole lot of time editing them. And all that editing combined with my having to work during much of the day resulted in my missing out on enjoying the first half of the trip. And then there were the myriad of mechanical issues we had to contend with for the first few weeks. I either worked or edited videos during the day, with my head down, while Captain Paul ran the boat. I literally missed out on much of the trip because of my work/editing schedule
I don't know how Scho and Jo do it. They do such a good job! We ran into signficant mechanical problems with our generator. And we had Tropical Storm Alex chasing us up the coast, which resulted in our having to do 15-18 hour days to stay ahead of that storm. The good news is that we did beat our estimated 4 week schedule for the journey by a whole week. But I was mentally exhausted at the end, had very little time to actually enjoy the trip, and because of all of that I didn't even remember much of it. We never stopped to smell the roses along the way.
That said, I would do it all again in a heatbeat. My plan is to take the boat back down south next October, spend the winter in Georgia or South Carolina, then my wife and I will slowly take the boat back up north, where we will take the time to stop and smell the roses, and edit UA-cam videos.
So don't worry about not posting your videos right now. It is much more important for you to stop and smell the roses, enjoy your kids and just enjoy this trip. The UA-cam videos can wait. Have fun on the rest of the journey. Your fan base will be there when you finally get around to it. Be well... BTW, can't say enough about the great job Captain Paul did. I very highly recommend him in case you or your subscribers need a captain. He was really awesome!!!

Hi Boomershi9nes!!! Really good to see you guys are thriving on the waterways, and have not had any major issues with the boat.
Can you please do us one favor? Can you post from time to time on the Community page in YT? It would not surprise me if YT made it hard or time consuming to use that feature, but if it is not, it would definitely give you a way to check in super quick and tell us all where you are this week, or this month.
Anyway, I just thought that Community tab might be a solution to the issue of not having time to edit videos, but still wanting to keep in contact with your fans here on YT. Hope you guys continue to have awesome adventures, and keep the cats on board...and that life continues to be shiney for the Boomershines.💯💯✌✌

Thank you so much for that update. I came across one little video clip of someone else who caught your boat going through a lock and was able to see first hand how busy you guys have been. Teaching two children on top of that is super impressive. I wish we would have been able to travel along in the videos with you but I completely understand how overwhelming a trip like that is. Be sure to just take the time to breathe deep and enjoy the moments. Wishing you a safe trip and all the best.

I THINK YOU MADE THE CORRECT CHOICE. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the vlogs, but, not at the sacrifice of your adventure. I'm not sure who puts the most pressure on the vlogers, the viewers or the presenters. I know some of the cruisers are making a living via you tube videos and I get it. As you pointed out, it shouldn't interfere with getting the most out of the voyage. Trust me, we, the viewers, will survive. So, ENJOY THE JOURNEY!!!! You only get one chance at this experience. PS:I wish I was there instead of watching from my trailer. Semper Fi, Tom.

0:13 the mornings are so beautiful, boating people rock, 3:18 it is definitely different every time and to know that now is so far ahead most captains. Do they have valet black tank pump service at the marina or do you have to move the boat to get pumped out?
It depends on the marina. Some marinas have a pump out at each slip. Some marinas have a boat that comes to your boat to pump out. And some marinas only have it at the fuel dock so you have to motor over there.

Hello FuzzyNugget! Long time no meow. Our humans have started posting about our year of imprisonment aboard SeaSHINE. You may find it amusing. We are back on land now and actually sort of miss the floating prison. We definitely miss all the birds and sea creatures we used to stare at. Hope you and your human are well.
