Love the new “Jen chest cam” during docking, brings a cool new feel we haven’t seen yet, your preparation and then docking maneuvers are fun to see. Awesome line handling as well! Your guys production and content just keeps getting better and better. Thank you for putting the time in, for these awesome videos.
Hey guys! I wish I would've come across your amazing channel 9 months ago! I live about 10mins right outside of Albany and Troy NY in Cohoes! I would've loved to have you come to the Cohoes Falls, about 3mins from where I stay it's BEAUTIFUL! You two AND Ollie would've LOVED it! There's a little walkway bridge over water that you walk across first before coming right over to an amazing waterfall & view! And you can also go down a steep bit of stairs to get real close to the bottom of the waterfall. Years ago you could actually walk out on the waterfall rocks at the bottom but it's closed now. But I'd absolutely love you guys to visit again & be able to go to the Falls one day!!🤍 Happy Travels to your beautiful family & Good luck!🥰
There was also a great Museum right there across the street from the Plaza & The Egg that I think you'd really enjoy when you come back! There's even a carousel that you can ride on the top floor of the Museum haha 🎠
I am so happy you posted tonight I have been dealing with Hurricane Ian. My whole Condo was under 5 feet of water. We lost everything. You just made my week Thank you Thank you !,
Loved this video. The drone footage, the music, the small towns along the way to Albany, Corning Tower, rock concert, Bald Eagle, great food, docking 👍, Ollie ♥️♥️♥️, wonderful scenery. Awesome job.
Shojo tie up awesome! I became really good at roping just like a cow. Then a cross of rock climbing and boating with a little cowboy! So I saw an older man had a pvc pipe and would loop docks and reload so fast it looked like art! He showed me a clip were his bass boat putting in his pictures pole would loop the dock automatically. I think he posted on UA-cam and it's worth seeing!
Great vlog! Looking forward to your travels on the Erie Canal (aka NYS Barge Canal). A ton of history and many good (and free or low cost) docks along the way in town. Our faves are Waterford (lock 1), Little Falls Visitor Center, Seneca Falls (if you take the Cayuga/Seneca branch) and Fairport.
I'm 80, and I haven't heard of Lita Ford either. But the Runaways yes.! Like your side trips in town. The out of the way places are the best. "Good Jobs Guys."
For not a well known city, Albany has great architecture!!! I think it has more architectural character than many cities much bigger, particularly in the sun belt.
Oh those bagels and ramen sure looked delicious! I love the tours of the towns…so fun! I hope your anchor came up easily the next morning. Safe travels!
It's kind of impossible to drive a wood piling into rock. Therefore: metal structures on rockpiles. 😀 The Southern ICW is mostly mud bottom, so driven pilings are the norm. You prolly won't see wooden piles again 'till you hit the Illinois River.
@@SchoandJo Another possible reason is that there can be a lot of ice in fresh water in winter; wood pilings can be chewed up by ice moving with the current.
@@woodside63 This is the exact reason the lights and daymarks on the Hudson are built this way. They call the structures they sit on either "ice piers" or "ice breakers." I boat the Ohio River and the shape of bridge abutments and other structures are such so that not only the water flows around them, but so does the ice. In many spots on the Ohio and other rivers in temperate climates, they will build a set of ice piers above major river towboat "fleeting" locations to reduce the risk ice poses to the tow boats and the barges as they are docked. On the Ohio and other rivers in that region, the Coast Guard puts the daymarks and lights on structures built up on the riverbanks, not in the river course.
You passed Kingston and Catskill on the Hudson. Two of my favorite stops. Right above Albany you could have tied up to the free wall in Waterford right below the flight
Been kind of watching these out of sequence, but you really did a great job of capturing my home region. Hopefully, next time you'll get the chance to see the inside of the State Capitol building. It's even more grand inside than outside.
Great video. Glad you were able to enjoy Albany and the Hudson. We loved the Hudson when we cruised south on it. Did you ever stop in Kingston? We thought it was a fantastic port -- awesome house, a museum, nice dockage. We also liked Troy NY very much -- there was an inexpensive town dock right in the heart of the city. Good architecture and terrific restaurants.
Getting into the best part of New York. Great reward to stop at a town that has lots to see and do. Skills have improved in handling the boat and anchorage but still lacking in safety. Haven't seen any indication of a life jacket. It just takes once.
I was born in Troy, right across the river in 1963. We moved from Troy to North Carolina in 1978. I have😢haven't been back since...I don't like the political climate, but I would like to visit someday...😊
Hi Dudes. Just found your channel and enjoyed the content. Doing it the same in Australia and some of your weather looks similar. How is the electric outboard going. Just looking at doing the same. Cheers from Down Under.
Right on! It does well for the coastal and river cruising we do. It’s not a fast motor so if you have to go long distances, frequently (it has range) I’d probably pass. It’s super reliable and we love it though!
Its been working well! It sometimes takes a few minutes to calibrate and work, so if the channel isn't too large we don't use it but in long stretches it has been amazing!
I believe it's do to flowing ice. Ice flows can pull pilings, wood or metal, that could be one reason. Not 100% sure. It's been a long time since I've been on the East coast.
The state Capitol building is one of the few buildings built strictly out of masonry, no skeletal structure, just like the castles and cathedrals in Europe.
Boating is easy when you haven't had to do it. Bloody hard when you are inexperienced. Boat seems to have a mind of it's own, and it's not on the same page as you. But you guys seem to have waxed this baby...

The "ignition on" buzz was very accommodating. Thank you 🙂!
That 'Ummmmmm' with the 'crossed eyes' roll says it all! Enjoying y'all's videos - thanks for sharing. Cheers...
haha most definitely does! thanks for watching!
It's hurts my soul to think you have never heard of Lita Ford. I feel old
I immediately felt real old with that comment as well.
I had a poster of her wearing nothing but her guitar when I was 12

Thank you for the time and effort you put into this video. I very much enjoy your work.
Thanks Michael!
The drone shots were awesome. Been watching since you bought Pivot and still look forward to your videos.
Thanks Andy!
Here in the great lakes, the bouys and the lights have to withstand the ice floes. The wood poles would just snap off.
Makes sense!
Your seamanship skills have come so far! Y'all are nailing it!
Thanks Larry! Bit by bit!

Thanks Randy! We loved the Eerie, had a blast and are looking forward to releasing those videos 😁
I would think the steel channel markers are built that way for ice flow. The small ones get hauled out and cleaned and painted then replaced👍
Very wonderful vlog episode guys ‼️ Loved the music choices 🎶 See you next time. ✨ 🌊 💨 🛥🌞✨
Thanks Richard!
I sure enjoy you efforts to make quality content for us. Thanks so much.

Our home port is Donovan’s Shady Harbor! The channel markers in the Hudson are buoys because they are taken out before winter due to ice.
Awesome video.. U have lots to be proud of... .
We are enjoying...

Thanks Karen 😁
Just a great video guys...they all are and we watch every single one!!
Thanks y’all 😁
I have so enjoyed these last few episodes! You just cruised past my hometown of Coxsackie 😊
Thanks!

Aww i used to work in the empire state plaza. i walked out side and around the egg on every break i had!

We stayed at the Waterford wall as well as Kingston, we have some videos about them 😁 Cheers and thanks for watching Leslie!
nice to see guys that you now 30 min away from my home

Cool, will have to check it out next time we are in town 😁
Impressive line handling.
Thanks Phillip!
Sonetines I think of “when Harry met Sally” and Meg Ryan when you guys eat…lol
😁
I live an hour north of Albany but worked there most of my career. Glad you enjoyed our little piece of the world.
oh cool! Thanks for watching Ed!

Yes we did, in fact I think in this video we started in Kingston 😁😁 Troy is coming soon, it was another great one!
Poor Ollie. But good for you two. Great job at the dock.
Thanks Ed!
The umm counter is hilarious
Haha thanks Walter
Did you guy’s get up through the Trent Severn water way in Canada this summer??
We did and it was amazing 👏👏

I'm curious if Pivot will be running the loop during winter.
Absolutely!

The Plaza is stark like from a SiFi movie
It is!
Would love to do the loop. But the boat is too tall . Have a great trip !
19'11 was the height this year with water levels! Thanks for watching Walter 😁
@@SchoandJo I have a sail boat. ... your boat is ideal for the loop !
Lita Ford is not old. She's younger than me!!! LOL
So Lita was rocking it when these kids were still in diapers
* before * we were in diapers lol

Ok so been 12 days and wondering what is going on out there? Also lost track of Pivot on Nebo again....Hope all is going well!
Next video comes out Monday! We’ve been busy with our presentation for the Rendezvous. Will be back to normal next week. Thanks Rob!
@@SchoandJo Great! Was having withdraws…lol.
Easier to sink a piling in the mud of the low country than the granite bedrock.
Pride flag on state capital building also! Yay! June being Pride month.
🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 it’s been great meeting you and Tyler at the Rendezvous 😁
The state Capitol building is one of the few buildings built strictly out of masonry, no skeletal structure, just like the castles and cathedrals in Europe.
The architecture around the Plaza is what one might call brutalist. Pretty classic 1950s-1960s designs for which Nelson Rockefeller can be blamed.
So........where did the videos go?
Latest video just released!
interesting problems to think about in city design and architecture
Are you being impacted by the low Mississippi water levels?
Not really!
You are correct..you're much more proficient. It's an everyday task.
Thanks Larry!
I think the Empire Plaza is horrific architecture.
👍
