    Thanks for the review. I tried these on today at a race sponsored by La Sportiva and they felt good. I normally need a size 9.5US wide or 10 in normal width, depending on the brand. These felt like a good fit at 10.5 and 11 was too big. Thinking of picking up a pair to replace my worn-out Speedgoat 5's.

      Awesome, what race did you do? Been a long time since I ran ultra distance so it’s nice to live vicariously…
      Thank you for your comment and the great point you made that I didn’t consider to address. I’m just used to ordering ‘size 47’ in euro stuff, and I’m a size 12-13 US depending…apparently size 47 = size 14us!? So people will need to size these up exactly like you found.
      Haven’t laced up a pair of speed goats (or other hokas) in many years, I’d love to know what you think about them compared to these for long runs (20+) on technical steep terrain. I always found the speed goat super comfortable and durable on the popular main trails that weren’t too steep but they let me down a bit when things got rocky and more vertical.

      I tried them and they are indeed good but for techical terrain I will always go with Hoka Mafate 4 (the best).Prodigio is excellent for trail but for techical Always I will choose the Hokas

    thank you. my son had scoliosis and has a titanium rod in his back. He LOVES to hike but i really feel he needs a really really good shoe. Ive ordered this for him. I figure if something happens with a less expensive shoes, hospital bills will be more than the cost of this shoe. I watched some of your other videos and you convinced me not to buy the North Face shoe (and i had almost clicked "buy" on that one). I appreciate this review.

      Thank you for your comment and I’m happy to know this was helpful! I think your son will find this shoe to be a lot better than the north face one in quite a few ways. I hope it lets him get out on many comfortable hikes!

    Thanks for the review of the Prodigio. I'll think I'll take a pass for now: I hike and run on rocky trails, with roots that toe bumber looks too flimsy.
    I have been using long-distance La Sportiva mountain shoes shoes (Ultra Raptor, Akyra, Akasha, and Jackal) for over 7 years now and covered over 26,000 kilometers with them, 90% the time with the Ultra Raptors. They are definitely heavier than the average trail running shoe but if you are looking for high degree of protection, stability, and comfort, they are probably the best shoes on the market. Considering the protection and stability they offer, they aren't even too heavy. I completed 6 200-mile mountain races with the Ultra Raptor: for the first 200 miler, I took with me the Ultra Raptor, the Akyra, and the Akasha, all great shoes with different pros and cons. For the other 5 200 milers I just used two pairs of Ultra Raptor, one with a GTX membrane and one without. Granted, if you need a light and responsive shoe, the Ultra Raptor are not a good choice but for fast-hiking and joggying ultra-long distances on technical terrain, I find them amazing. Whenever I need to go faster and lighter I just reach for my La Sportiva Jackal: they still offer decent protection and great cushioning while being lightweight and responsive. If you haven't already, you might want to give them them a try.
    Have fun with the Prodigio, I'm curious to see how they hold up in your next review.

      Thanks for your comment! Nice to meet another person who needs a shoe as tough as the ultra raptor ha ha, you must be running some crazy stuff!
      The bushido II works for me (should have sown them in this review DOH) but the jackal just didn’t feel right. Granted, I have neuromas in both feet from running mountains (used to have most of the FKT’s around Canmore for scrambling routes) in Altra zero drops so my feet are super fussy now. Took 5 years to heal and they can still flare up if I run in crappy shoes 🥲
      Anyway, I’m finally getting back into fast running, and the ultra raptor II are super tough like we agree but if you’re clocking your fastest km’s in them, they leave a lot to be desired. These prodigios feel super fast on mellow trails but like you said not sure how they will hold up to scree! If they don’t get destroyed they might be a new favourite fast shoe but they could also fall apart in one run 😅
      Happy trails man! Thanks again for your comment!!

    I have a question are they waterproof?

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  4 місяці тому +1

      That is a great question! These one are not, but that said I’ve walked through a river in them and they were dry within an hour! I was wearing (synthetic) material running socks though.

    Would these be good for speed walking

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  5 місяців тому +1

      I don’t speed walk so I can’t say for sure. My guess is no, as speedwalking usually takes place on pavement? These shoes are definitely designed for trail.

    Hi, should you size up on these shoes

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  2 місяці тому +1

      Good question, yes, I did have to size up by 1/2. 12.5US in these fits me like a 12US in other shoes. Hope that helps

    Would these be good for the Calgary marathon?

    • @TheLastHonestInfluencer
      @TheLastHonestInfluencer  5 місяців тому

      I’d get yourself a good road running shoe instead.
      These would work in a pinch if you’re trying to save money. For example you do all of your training on trails and you just want to run one marathon on the road, well these wouldn’t be the best but they would be ok. But these are designed for trails not the road and over time you will notice a big difference in comfort and durability (in a bad way) just like if you tried road shoes on the trail. They will work, just not the best or for long.
      Hope that helps and makes sense!
