Hot Halibut Bite from Shore

After some searching me and my buddy found some Halibut.
Fish were caught with drop shot and swimbaits.

Hey, when it comes to fishing the drop shot how long do you typically make the length between the weight and hook? Or is it a matter of trial and error

I usually just eye it and try different lengths but I think around 16" is perfect.

Nice catches Andre. What length rods do you use with them Stradics? I was in the area last week, got skunked. Using hammer head swimbairs and LC cherry berry. Will give the drop shot a try this week with them grubs and flukes

Both rods are 9ft. Yea keep trying. They come and go. It's kind of hard to figure out which tide they want to bite at. But it's been really slow this week.

Depends on where you are. This spot I like low tide. It's easier to fish. But sometimes they just come in on high tide.

@@AndreMull Ha! Ha! Andre!! I wish I had that "good" fortune. But it's tough dealing with them in prime time "bite" time. But for me it would be more action than "rocks"! There's likely few equals to your "high line" fishing in the bay area. Your braid line is always tight. I'm waiting for your next "catching" video. They must be getting near the Doolittle!

I use p line for my leader line. I have suffix braided line on 1 rod and then J Braid on my other rod for mainline.
