We all reach for our favorite colors, but this series using the color wheel is a great way to bring us all back to art class. You're a terrific teacher, Cathy!
Hey Cathy! What a lovely and beautiful card! The sentiment is perfect with the vellum! Enjoining your color wheel cards and your color wheel painted nails! Thank you you so much Cathy! 💚💖💜
Loving this color theory series, thanks for the helpful info. Also, so funny how you start to whisper when you're concentrating on something...the card whisperer. lol
I love crafting! Thank you for connecting the color wheel to real life, it has always been the bane of my craft world. Keep showing me your expertise, please!
Thank you so much. I always have trouble picking colors and totally forgot that I have a color wheel in the drawer. Glad you chose the vellum because it doesn't completely cover up your pretty colors. So funny that you added the "boops" at the end. LOL. You always make me smile.
You are dynamic, Cathy: the boop, then the retro-boop, and now the sliding boop! I’m awed. I’ve used color wheels in a basic way forever, but I’m excited about the split complimentary technique. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks for teaching this. And for the spectacular card. I love it!
Yes of course crafting is relaxing. I get in the zone and hours just go by. I wish I could work in the crafting industry, I think it would be not like working at all. I took vacation this past week and finished 2 wreaths, painted 3 glass pieces and finished 5 flower arrangements and redecorated my little red truck for summer with sun flowers and now it even has s cute little travel trailer to go with it. Next I need to finish an order of paper boxes. I guess since I get paid for those I'm technically in the crafting business but those jobs are too far apart to pay the bills. Well enough about me. The card is beautiful but I would have liked to have seen the green shadow layer. I loved the rainbows showing up it made me remember the story, Pollyanna.
The saying on your card is so very true. We need more people like you. You're creative and funny and so down to earth. Your sense of humour is awesome. I am so thankful that I found you and your videos to watch. I am learning a lot and having a good time. The pandemic makes life harder right now and you have provided me some time in my day that is for me. Thank you. Please stay safe. ❤️
I started putting a small piece of colorful paper tape or washi tape over the sharp piece of metal on a die before I cut it off. Then if it flies I can find it. It saves my feet and my dog's too. ;)
I absolutely love ❤️ your card Cathy. So adorable 🥰. I love those finger dauber brush ink blenders too. I have a stack of them too thanks to Jennifer McGuire.
Many years ago I heard from someone in the stamping community that if you look at colors and recognize a combination you see in nature, you’re good to go- Mother Nature knows what she is doing. And, following along with this thought, the colors you used today are almost exactly what I planted in one of my garden beds this week (well, almost; as much as I love your green, the leaves on my flowers are a wee bit darker!)
I love everything about this card. I just promised myself I wouldn't buy anything else for a while (since I discovered SSS and made 3 SSS orders in the last month!!!) but that sentiment die is going on my list for the next time I allow myself to spend $ - ha, ha!
So inspiring, Cathy. Thanks so much. I have this very colour wheel, 'cos you recommended it & will be doing more with it now. Loving this series. And the nails. You're amazing x
@@czdesign You know, none of us all is perfect. It happens, we can't controll everything. Your cards and style are to me outstanding and I enjoy all of your tutorials, boop or no boop. I love your humour. In short - you are my person! Thank you Cathy for everything. xoxo
Everything you create is lovely... and you explain the "why"... why do these colors work together. Thank you! And now that I've had the "boops"... my day is complete!
I found my color wheel that was hidden away in a basket and now it's on the small shelf above my desk where I can see it and use it! Lol! Love these color wheel combos you are showing and your card is beautiful.
I like the color wheel series. I have problems deciding which papers or inks go together and I think this will help me. I need to invest in a color wheel it seems.
Hi Cathy. I was hoping you'd do a video this weekend. Thanks!! Lots of things--love your rainbow nails. Crafting is like a massage for your brain. I feel sorry for people who don't craft! Your card turned out so pretty. I always forget about using vellum for a shadow. It really popped the words nicely--good idea! I was thinking black words but the vellum with the white is much nicer & softer. Love your videos!!!
What a beautiful card Cathy! You really did a tremendous job again! You have turned out to be my favorite card celebrity! I haven't had time to make a card in months and I've seen so many cards you've made that I want to try to make with the supplies I have! If I ever get time for me I'll have to go to my saved videos on all these beautiful cards! You never ever disappoint! I really enjoy all of your videos! Thank you!
Hi, CZ - I keep seeing this stencil and I just love this die. Have now put the die in the cart... while it's 15% off for Mem Day, I will probably just cave and get it. I love end end result but I probably would have had to go with a darker green in the same pie wedge at the leaf centers / design center. Love what you have made! Lori S in PA
Such a clear explanation of split complementary colors. Your also helping us understand the wheel and what the triangles do! When you are masking, could you do more than 1 card-mask for a flower, color, put in another card, mask again, etc?
Such a pretty card! And it's so much fun to explore the split complementary trios. When you said "surgery" during the tittle placement, I just knew we were about to go to Grey's Anatomy. Love it! Watching all 16 seasons for the first time was pretty much my main accomplishment in 2020. Yeah. Sad.
I agree, the world needs more people like you! I love the "learning" I'm getting from your videos. Another great looking card, thanks for sharing. 'Til the next card sesh 👉
Beautiful stenciling. I would have liked to see the words on the key lime just to have a better visual. Still turned out lovely! Great job and great tips on the color wheel!
Cool nails! I hope you’re having as nice a holiday weekend as we are. We’re just getting so much outdoor work done. I took the whole grill apart hoping I can make it look brand new on the inside. I love grilling. Do you like to plant flowers and do yard work?
Debster, I do not. I do not like digging in the dirt. I tried one year. I really did. THAT is the hubby's domain. I sit back and enjoy the view. However, I am the one who does all the grilling. SO i have that going for me!
Very pretty! I was going to whine about missing out on the boops! 😂 I did wonder if you could have gotten two cards out of your pretty original panel, if you had turned it the other way? 🤷♀️ Thanks for sharing! 😊❤️
Cathy I love this way of stenciling now, it’s so easy. Your card is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing your ideas with us. I did just get the large color wheel ( both of them) love the size. I can read it better then the smaller one lol 😂. Have a great holiday weekend.❤️🍔🌭🥤🇺🇸
Hey Cathy I love your cards so clean and simple and spaced so perfect. I just don’t know how you do that. Next, what is the actual name of that tool you are using to hold your ink pad?
Cathy, to add dimension to your die cut sentiment instead of adding foam tape, cut the die two more times and stack them behind the vellum. Am I making sense?
Cathy, I love your lessons! You have so much knowledge and share so graciously. Are you going to go back to the 10-15 minute videos that you used to do? They work so much better with my attention span :-)
Rather than cutting foam tape to put on the back of the sentiment just cut the sentiment out of cardstock a couple more times to layer up behind the vellum
Thanks for the heads up on the color wheel. Very interesting; I will have to give this a try. Love your nails Cathy they are beautiful. You did a wonderful job with the colors and stepping out of your comfort zone. By the way that’s the biggest color wheel I ever have seen lol lol. Much easier to see I have to say. Where did you purchase this from??? Thanks Cathy ❤️. I just checked Amazon and found it. Thanks again for the informative video ❤️❤️

I’m with everyone else: love the color theory series!
Love the card...so pretty....and you used my favorite colors.
Sooo beautiful. And you can totally use that piece on the bottom that was cut off and make a little border on another card. Soooo pretty.
Great idea!!
Cathy, this is a wonderful series, so informative and clever. You make it all so easy. Your voice is really easy to listen to!

Lovely color combination, very fresh. I'm not sure I have as much patience as you have with the tiny foam bits, but the end result is fab.

Any tips on the tiny tittle? I find I loose them. The itty bitty ones may be more than my shaky hands can manage!
