I have the same problem, everytime I want to use the scanner, it gives me the same error message, however if I then re-install the driver , the scanner works again. Till the next time I want to use it (laptop powered off and on again, or disconnect the scanner and re-connect), same issue again, it's annoying as hell, never an Epson product again, printers suck too
I had the same problem. But I had great difficulties to take the scanner apart. Besides the 5 screws there are plastic clamps. And on my second attempt I also noticed glue between the glass and the side strips. Why does a company like Epson cannot put the glue in the right place, so that the cable does not come apart. There was obviously insufficient glue between the cable and the support strip. Notice that the defective cable has two strips and the new cable only one.
@@trcteck Thanks for the reply. I jammed a plastic card in there and separated the strip enough to free the ribbon that was stuck under the scanner. It's not a terribly well designed scanner. It seems to work except for this small ribbon folding into the mechanism.
very nice sir ji
