Can't wait to see the timing cover/chain video! I been wanting to replace the timing chain/gears for a long while now but I want to replace the water pump and some other stuff while in there. Mine has 271k miles so I'm sure it's time to do it lol. This week I'm pulling the rear end to do a bastard pack, seal up and paint in the rear fender wells, and putting fresh fluid in the rear end.
Hey, at 5:25-5:40 you were talking about ohm-ing the crank position sensor; that it should be about 125-275 ohms. I got that ok... Then you said that the AC voltage reading coming from the crank position sensor should be about 0.3 AC volts (6:00). I will check as you said, but I did not know it would put out AC voltage, thought it would be DC. Just asking.
good night friend I have a simple 2.5L cherokee automatic 4x2 and I want to do it 4x4 my question is if I only get the coupling that goes between the gearbox and the transfer case or do I have to replace the entire gearbox
i came to see if i could find out why my 2.5 ran like absolute dog, turns out it was running on 2 cylinders because i mixed up 2 of the plug wires, im surprised it ran at all.
How do you know that was the compression stroke? Should you not have turned it once around and looked at it again? Those compression numbers seem impossible. Check your gauge. Amended: Thought it through and now I get it.
Yeah it's a lock you got a handle right next to it and it will unlock I just got me a 1989 4.0 straight Comanche doing the AC condenser I was wonder we're you can get the hoses for them you got any clue and help is accepted
When I converted my AC system to R-134a I had to use some newer XJ hoses as it was hard to find all the stock parts. Check the conversion video for details as well as the comments, some people found stuff I couldn't.
i tried to get my 2.5 mj to start for an hour today to make and update video for my channel, after an hour of trying to find a problem my boss came outside and told me he forgot to tell me he took the renix computer out of it from under the dash lmao
hey so my jeep did not want to start this morning and i did some test and found my oil filter soaked in oil and i don't know why that would not make my jeep turn over. what can i do
I'm assuming you mean there is oil all over the outside of it? Well that is not very good, would check for loose bolts or leaky gaskets but that shouldn't keep the vehicle from starting. It should still be able to start even without oil but that's very bad for it. Does that starter turn the engine or does it not do anything? Oily connections could keep electricity from flowing, but battery could be dead
my bad sorry about that the air filter is pretty soaked in oil and i checked the pcv valve and it was pretty cloged so i replaced them both and air filter but still nothing.
This was my buddies rig, and he deleted the AC and just added some scrap to keep the Alternator mounted. Alt alignment shouldn't change if it's the stock alternator and the Pulley nut is tight. First thing I always check for pulley misalignment is if the Harmonic Balancer has seperated and the outer hub is walking off
NickInTimeFilms yeah tell me about it. I have had it for a few months, ran fine, swapoed the alternator, and the belt and within the span of 3 days it shredded 2 belts. I am going to mess with it tomorrow to see if I can fix it
Damn man make me miss my MJ had to put it to side after blew engine was making vids on it but blew engine check it out if you want my Instagram is Tonio_MJ GOOD TO see someone on yt building one.Good luck!
Oh, you mean the cherokee that was in the shot for like the first 2 seconds of the video, lol. It's only in the description of literally every other video. 5.5" RE lift on 35's with cut out flares, fits great.
You know I own a 87 Jeep Cherokee I know you like joking around about the new keys how they're so cool but I'm completely opposite I hate new cars this to me Electronics they're making cars so people could be more lazy so don't rag on the keys man they might be old school but they're always be there for you compared to these new cars.
The joke was for long time viewers because my XJ never came with keys. My new Civic is push to start though and I love it. I never have to take the keys out of my pocket.
That.... Is some shit. Like damn a chain skip that much, jesus. So since your gonna check the timing chain and cam, why not just slap a 4.2's cam in there. Give the girl a bit more umph.
Great vid as always.." Youre so patient and clear when explaining..... :)

Just what I wanted before I went to sleep. Thanks man!
I got a 91 Comanche sportruck 2wd 2.5l i4 it's a blast to drive around town
So much information but I absorbed most of it. Thanks again!
OH yea more of the good stuff, keep on truckin.
It s exactly what i would recommended him to do cause that beast doesn't behave like that everything's ok only the chain cover need to be removed.
Jeep used gm ignition cylinders in the renix era I have that same ignition in my Comanche, 1975 Chevy el Camino, and 1977 Chevy c10 (sold)

Nice! Great job explaining everything.

Yep at the point you found no compression i thought Get that rockerbox cover off lol.
Get those fingers in there, fondle those parts lol :-D
Haha, but that requires work. We don't like extra work around here.
i came to see if i could find out why my 2.5 ran like absolute dog, turns out it was running on 2 cylinders because i mixed up 2 of the plug wires, im surprised it ran at all.
I have a feeling you're going to find bent valves or holes in the Pistons from it jumping time
We shall see, I don't believe these are interference style engines
NickInTimeFilms you know you might be right. Now that I think about it I don't think they are interference motors.
How do you know that was the compression stroke? Should you not have turned it once around and looked at it again? Those compression numbers seem impossible. Check your gauge. Amended: Thought it through and now I get it.
I admire your dedication to this garbage haha

What belt size do you have?
But your comanche doesn't tremble earlier when turned on the keys
There's no presure Bro. I wish i could add some pictures of the main trouble you're crossing around it.
i tried to get my 2.5 mj to start for an hour today to make and update video for my channel, after an hour of trying to find a problem my boss came outside and told me he forgot to tell me he took the renix computer out of it from under the dash lmao
lol, that'll do it

I saw the post on facebook, that thing is absolutely drenched. Makes me wonder how much blow by that engine has, a compression test might not hurt
Hey man need some help. My alternator is set up like yours is but mine isnt aligned with the other pulleys. How is yours mounted
This was my buddies rig, and he deleted the AC and just added some scrap to keep the Alternator mounted. Alt alignment shouldn't change if it's the stock alternator and the Pulley nut is tight. First thing I always check for pulley misalignment is if the Harmonic Balancer has seperated and the outer hub is walking off
NickInTimeFilms my truck still has the ac but its mounted under the alternator. And it is about half an inch farther back than it should be
That's weird. Is this vehicle new to you? Was this area messed with recently? Just curious if someone didn't mount one of them properly
NickInTimeFilms yeah tell me about it. I have had it for a few months, ran fine, swapoed the alternator, and the belt and within the span of 3 days it shredded 2 belts. I am going to mess with it tomorrow to see if I can fix it
She no chuchi-chuchi
Damn man make me miss my MJ had to put it to side after blew engine was making vids on it but blew engine check it out if you want my Instagram is Tonio_MJ
GOOD TO see someone on yt building one.Good luck!
TONIO. ACE so you saying that it's for sale ?
Where are the fuel injectors on that motor
Its throttle body injected, just 1 near the butterfly
Called timing belt no compression
Swap a 4.0 in that Comanche
No that's to basic.
youve been watching AvE huh? lol
nooooooooo, what gives that away? haha. Love his content
how much lift are running?
It's got a solid 0" lift kit installed right now :^) It's all stock......
ok smart ass hahahah i asked since im planing for a iro 6.5 long arm was wondering what your at and how bad the 35s rub if any
Oh, you mean the cherokee that was in the shot for like the first 2 seconds of the video, lol. It's only in the description of literally every other video. 5.5" RE lift on 35's with cut out flares, fits great.
face palm thanks lol
bent valves or stuck valves could be the problem
You think i'd be common to bend a valve on every cylinder though? And regardless that dizzy isn't pointing where is should be so something is off.
NickInTimeFilms hey i was halfway through the video the timing being screwed seems more likely

Yeah sure, let me just find a 4.2L 4cyl real quick, XD
Ahhhh I wasnt thinking.... Damn... Lol
4.0 Swap :P
you lost me with the key crap. lame...
