@@Battlechicken12 Well, I kind of have a question. I heard the Emperor spoke to Roboute Guilliman. Told him he was a son, but not a son, a tool and his last hope. Do you know where I can get that story. Was it from a book? If so i would love to read after I finish The fall of Cadia
Something bricky doesn't mention: the Eldar had figured out reincarnation with full memories. Which means the samenpeople alove over millions of years and with no need to fear death kept raising the stakes of their debauchery.
Yup, so an Eldar (back then) could run up to someone, stab their baby, and it's like... not a big deal Because that baby is basically an grown person's conscious and they'll be back soon
I gasped when she said that.... aloud... people are concerned now.... so I tell them "The Emperor Protects." And i guess that explains everything around here? because things are back to normal
"A lot to take in" is so apt lol I spent an entire day fielding questions from my coworkers and just lore dropping on them and I barely scratched the surface. It was so fun answering hypothetical questions from people who have no idea whats going on in 40k. Also gut laughed when she said "they seem evil as well" and said "You're beginning to see the theme" hahaha
In the 40k universe most ships have a field/shield that is raised for warp travel! If this shield was to fail the ship and crew would be attacked/possessed/twisted/warped.. killed or turned to chaos!

I love seeing my fellow Black people not being afraid to get into nerdy things like Warhammer. I love Warhammer and it's awesome how many different minority groups are getting into it
There are some Eldar, both Dark and Craftworld, who are actively trying to get rid of Slaanesh... but that's a much deeper lore dive and the plot hasn't advanced much so even the fans don't know the conclusion. Just know that at the moment, Slaanesh stopped their latest plan because she has the last plot mcguffin they need and no Eldar can get close enough to her to steal it... Slaanesh hasn't simultaneously got rid of the plot mcguffin either (probably because she/he/it can't), so the threat is still out there.
@@Knight-Bishop Well, i mean, one of the Crone Swords looked like a generic Spear before being awakened. So 'Looks like' doesn't necessarily mean anything.
It is REALLY fun to play. I know it sounds silly, but being handy and creative building your own stuff giving it your own style is already tons of fun. Having a lore as background and then playing with your friends having a beer or coffee chatting away and discussing stuff beats playing PC any day
To me the thing about 40k lore and fantasy lore I liked the most, especially back in the day, was dependent on which army book you were reading certain events had a slightly different interpretation from each other.
I’m not gonna lie I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. I would just like to welcome the two of you. The wolf of Warhammer has brought me so many hours of joy. I have also collected painted and played the game itself for many years. It’s many hobbies in one. Definitely check out the books in the black library. They have absolutely fantastic audiobooks.
Hehe! I can see how much fun you are having introducing her to this universe. :) Now you see why Warhammer videos get views. Cuz it’s so fun to sit there with our little grins like: “Oooooh, just wait for it, shit is about to goooo dooooooown!”
when she asked "have they ever known peace?" and I laughed out loud and quoted to an empty room, the whole "It is the 41st Millennium ..(all the way to).. and the laughter of thirsting gods"
At the beginning bricky fails to mention that the old ones were a benevolent race that went round the galaxy either seeding new life or helping the current life with their advanced genetic technology. The necrontyr on the other hand went around the galaxy either enslaving or genociding every race they came across. That's why the old ones refused to help them. Im 12:33 in to the video and so far he's pretty spot on with everything Edit: I'm 28:27 in to the video now and the gun to the head when he said 20 primarchs and quickly changed to 18 was hilarious 😂
Okay, fine, dude! I'm watching, damn! I have six different UA-cam tabs open, and on each one, there's your video on the side-either it's first or fourth at worst.
Warhammer 40k is meant to showcase that the galaxy it is set in, is so damaged at a cosmic scale that it needs a great reset, or a higher powered civilization needs to step in and fix what is wrong, or a greater cosmic being or force needs to step and do the same resetting.
I think 'intro to the 41st millenium' would have been such a great note to start on for someone uninitiated rather than just rushing straight into the lore trivia, there is a LOT to take in so a cinematic touch rather than a dry explanation is probably a lot easier to handle.
Just a reminder that there are 4 groups of Eldar. The Craftworld Eldar that Zen monk their way through it. The Dark eldar that debauch their way out of it. The Harlequinns that laugh their way through it all. And the fourth way I have forgotten the name of, just like Games Workshop did.
You should show her the movie Event Horizon. got some definite warhammer warp references. Its a warm family film, that covers friendship (MURDER), memories (ghost murder), self examination (self mutilation or whatever), and leadership (it probably something else horrible). Anyways i think she would really enjoy it!
Because of the way interstellar travel works in 40k, some regard 'Event Horizon' as sort of a very early prequel to the setting. What happened to the crew of the Event Horizon would be easily explainable by it having gone through 40k's warp.
This is awesome. My only suggestion would be to link the original video in the description. I'd like to give bricky my view an like as well but I'm having a hard time finding this particular video.

23:39 This is actually being attempted by the eldar currently in the lore. My second comment tells u which channels to check out to learn about that topic and quite a few others.
Yes, the *airquotes* “good” eldar are trying to get rid of Slaanesh… By creating another Eldar God. Sounds like a great plan, doesn’t it? But that is an extremely long-term project. As for more immediate solutions, “good” eldar carry so called “Soulstones” - potent psychic artifacts that capture their souls when they die, to save them from being devoured by Slaanesh. The evil dark eldar do not use that practice. Because their situation is different. Instead of just going to Slaanesh after they die, Dark Eldar are being CONSTANTLY soul-drained by the evil deity. So, soul stones will not be enough to help them. Which is why, to save themselves form this drain, just like Bricky said, they have to stave Slaanesh off by constantly indulging in debauchery and inflicting pain on others.
