Hello! If you know me, I'm always looking for interesting ways to use different things. In today's video, I will demonstrate how to create a few folding techniques that will allow you to achieve these stunning wraps. I chose to use silk scarfs but really any type of fabric could work! Enjoy! 00:00 Intro 04:32 The Purse 14:43 The Scroll/The Croissant/The Envelope 21:22 The Luxurious Bow 28:06 The Double Knot 32:37 The Handle
I use Furoshiki for carrying things home from shopping etc and I think it is so clever. It's the Christmas gift wrapping the Environment needs 😉 And you can re-use cloths or scarves for it. We need to start normalising this instead of paper wrapping! I love an ASMR video that is relaxing AND educational 😁👍🏽 Thanks Maria 👏🏽
Anyone else gets amazed by how many things Maria knows? So far, she's thought us etiquette, glasswear etiquette, wine and cheese best combos, how to match colors that suit your skin better and so many other things... I mean, you're just amazing, Maria! ❤😍
Towel folding, clothing folding, ironing, tablescapes, face mapping, nail stamping, nail care, cooking tutorials, russian history and culture,,,she has a few hair care videos and make up tutorials. She's teaching something in many of her roleplay videos. The list goes on. Maria is the best!!
YES! Sustainable wrapping! Thank you so much for sharing with us this technique! Ive already wrapped my gifts for this year so I will keep it in mind for next year :D xx
@Howard Pym I mean I don’t know, I just know I don’t have enough money to buy fabric for presents. I think the paper is okay. And I have gift bags that I reuse every year
@Howard Pym It is better, recycling is always better than wasting. But also not creating waste is always better than buying things just to throw them away, whether they're recycled or not in the end. So in a way you're right, reusable gift wrap > recycled paper > paper that isn't from sustainable programs.
My family’s been using this technique for years (centuries? Lol). My obaachan (grandma) and her sisters used to carry their shopping items or groceries this way and I’ve seen some older Japanese citizens still do it this way. There’s many specialty shops throughout Tokyo for fabric specifically made and designed by artisans for this purpose.
My mom, sis and I went to Japan a few years ago, and we were so impressed by the way the sellers would wrap our souvenirs! I didn't know it was an ancient tradition ❤️
Environmental engineer here 👋🏼 I love this technique! Keep in mind that this is only a more eco-friendly/sustainable option if you can be sure the receiver plans on keeping, using, or responsibly recycling the fabric. Some wrapping paper can be conveniently recycled in most curbside bins (I.e. plain papers without glitter, plastics, cellophane) where as fabrics are usually not accepted by curbside bins. So if the receiver throws the fabric in the trash, it will end up in a landfill and take longer to decompose than wrapper paper would. So long as the fabric doesn’t end up in the trash, this is GREAT! 🌎 ❤️ 😊 another option is old newspapers or 100% paper wrapping paper!
@@taru8019 yes. I don’t suggest purchase new textiles for this. However if you have old fabrics that you already own it’s a good way to repurpose them.
my family has been recycling our wrapping paper each year, unless one of the kids tears it up too much. I was thinking of using thrifted fabrics next year, but asking the receiver for the fabric back. Not sure if that would be weird though haha
I've watched this video 100x and have fallen asleep every time without commenting, so leaving one this time before I restart the video 😆!! I love all of your fabric videos, they are just perfection to me!! Happy New Year, Maria ❤️❤️❤️

Seriously though, my aunt and I are known for our gift wrapping skills at Christmas and this Christmas I’ll blow everyone away with this and I’ve already ordered the perfect scarves for everyone!!! Thank you so much!!
I actually made the spaghetti squash casserole boats from one of Maria's cooking ASMR videos (and it was super good, too) So, you never know, you might use these wrapping techniques one day, even if just for fun.

Educational/tutorial ASMR is my absolute favorite kind of ASMR. I'm actually wrapping my presents in fabric gift bags I've sewn myself, but I definitely want to try furoshiki too! It will be so cozy to work along with Maria 😍

Whether it's stamping, art resin, painting, origami, folding, or wrapping, they're always my favorites, because there's such a genuine and unrehearsed touch to it that is hard to come by. Thank you Maria, have a Merry Christmas! 💟
Hm I was imagining the scarf would be taken back, since this is considered sustainable. I’d use those scarves over and over again. Giving them as part of a gift though, who’s to say the recipient would even use them? Might end up in a landfill that way.

Thank you Maria for showcasing FUROSHIKI originated in Japan! I’m from Japan and often use one to wrap clothings for one day trip, etc. My girls also have one each. Some people use them when shopping instead of getting plastic bags which is very environmental-friendly! Thank you, Maria! I've used this method for the last couple of years and people honestly think it's a bit wierd, so thank you for showing this! Hopefully it'll become more normal in the future :D

Мария, в очередной раз убеждаюсь в том, что Вы настоящий профессионал в сфере АСМР и очень, очень приятная девушка!!! Ваши ролики не только расслабляющие, но и полезные, информативные и эстетичные. ❤️
It's so cool that you are teaching people about furoshiki! It is also very common for Japanese students to come to school with their lunchboxes wrapped in furoshiki! It's an easy way to carry things.
Once again, such a lovely person showing us lovely tricks and tips to make things beautiful. Maria, you are a delight and a "soft place" to land with all the uncertainty and craziness in the world right now. Thank you.
Wow! Mum and I just bought our material yesterday, planning to do our first no waste wrapping this year. All that’s left is to watch instructional videos...and then here you are!
Love this!! Been using Furoshiki exclusively for a couple of years now. My hubby was skeptical at first, but it only took one Christmas morning(with kids) for him to realize how much easier it was to clean up afterwards, as well as less trash in the bin. People also seem to really like receiving them. I've even gotten a few friends hooked on them as well. It just takes one gift.
Often the people who give out the most love need it themselves the most. I hope you are taking care of yourself and doing well, I’m sending bucketfuls of love back to you 💛💛
I have seen this video at least 50-60 times and it made me fall asleep, relax every time. I just adore this from end to finish. ❤️ so it is funny but since the holidays are approaching, I actually gave these folds a try and used this video as a tutorial :)) my gifts will be so unique! I never knew why I liked it so much as a kid and it’s because of the way it all sounded. Plus the lady’s voice. It was the original ASMR for me! ❤️ Thanks for taking me back to my childhood.
This reminds me of your older videos, which were always my favorite ❤️
Okay but actually these presents look super cool can’t wait to see how you wrap them!
I've never been perfect at gift wrapping but this video will help try some new techniques! Fabric... love! 🎁 🎄 🎅
I loooooove your Show & Tell/Tutorial videos. There's something extremely relaxing about being educated and soothed at the same time. Every item you bring out entrances me, no matter what it is. New sounds, new ideas, new lessons, it's amazing!
Thank you, Maria! I've used this method for the last couple of years and people honestly think it's a bit wierd, so thank you for showing this! Hopefully it'll become more normal in the future :D
That's crazy. If someone gave me a gift wrapped in fabric I would be sooo happy
@@imperviousdonut Yeah, me too! I think it shows that I put a lot of thought into the wrapping instead of just getting it wrapped in the store 😅
Omg instant tingles as soon as I heard “Good evening “. Your soft-spoken ASMR is the best 😊 You and Emma are my absolute favorites!
This video has become a holiday tradition 🎁
That fabric she used for her mothers gift would make a beautiful pillow
Folding motions, fabric sounds and Maria's soothing voice. I'm in ASMR heaven 😇
Thank you for this video. It’s my favorite one on UA-cam currently. I’ve viewed it so many times I’ve lost count. The quiet quality of your voice and the subtle mouth sounds are the perfect combination for creating a relaxing moment in a busy day. Thanks for inviting us into your home and sharing your skills and hobbies with us. I am grateful.
I love that we actually learn something new from Maria’s videos, thank you❤️
I love that Maria not only does simple ASMR, but always teaches something new. She's literally the ASMR tutorial queen in anything. A true artist in any and every kind of way. God bless you! 😍 🙏 What a beautiful way to learn new ways of gift wrapping 💕
When I wrap gifts it looks like a 3 year old did it 😂😭 this year I've decided to put all my presents in cotton gift bags instead
😂 i thought the same about my own wrapping attempts
@@rararaasmr6137 I recommend getting some reusable gift bags, such a life saver for people like us 😂
@@MissWhispersASMRofficial absolutely 😂
I’m bad at it too and my family made fun of me so I went to bags & same,so I did gift cards and got made fun of for that too. 😒
@@momentsformoms9467 it's a struggle haha! I used to work as a Christmas temp at a yankee candle store & I was supposed to wrap the candles for customers...it never ended well 🤦🏻♀️
The Hermés scarf called me broke in 10 languages
That was Hermés?! 😵😵
I was just about to hit the sack. 1:15 am here in India. Perfect 👌🏽 thank you .. our queen!
I'm here at 4.15 AM. From India too.! 😊
This is how holidays are supposed to be: calming, relaxing, rejuvenating.. 😍🌸not hectic, frustrating, and draining
When I heard it was soft spoken 😍😍😍
Your perfect ASMR voice has always paralyzed me, but the addition of the lint roller sound really elevated the ASMR effect on me. Wow!
Omg is there anything you can't do?? ❤
hahaha your comment made me smile!
I love these soft spoken ones!! My favorite!! My all time favorite of your videos made are soft spoken instructional/teaching ones. Ahh. Soo relaxing!! I wish youd make more of those.
Thank you for all the effort you put into videos.
I love the eco friendly wrapping as an idea! I will defo think about this next year. Looks so pretty too.
Educational and relaxing ♥️
Maria I love you but your old videos will always be my favorite and hold a dear place in my heart
I love you maria!! You always make me feel better whenever Im having an anxiety attack. It helps me out so much. xx
@@onlygirl737 especially шо prices are very affordable
Ага, она нереально классная, обожаю этот мем)
it's so strange to expect the worst of people and yet she keeps her goodness and kindness. i hope you live forever
This furoshiki technique is so elegant (I'm thinking as I stare at my dollar-store wrapping paper).
It's so cool that you are teaching people about furoshiki! It is also very common for Japanese students to come to school with their lunchboxes wrapped in furoshiki! It's an easy way to carry things.
You're the best at turning ordinary sounds into relaxing and calming ones. ❤
I really love your towel folding videos. I feel like this one is a very similar vibe, but the sounds are maybe a little softer - so so lovely!
I am from Japan and seeing you do this in ASMR style is amazing! I love it. Thank you. ❤️❤️
Yessss a silk scarf wrapping!! I would love to receive one like that as well 🤗🧡🤍🖤💫💫💫
As a hairdresser I would call the last gift wrapping a French twist 😂❤️
I am so attracted to this because it is zero waste. I will definitely be doing this with future presents.
YEEEESS! More soft-spoken educational... * settles into sofa with headphones *
Once again, such a lovely person showing us lovely tricks and tips to make things beautiful. Maria, you are a delight and a "soft place" to land with all the uncertainty and craziness in the world right now. Thank you.
I just realized Maria’s cadence with her dialogue is super similar to Bob Ross and it explains so much
U think so? Can u explain a bit? I don't hear it
🤯😍
TRUE!
Wow! Mum and I just bought our material yesterday, planning to do our first no waste wrapping this year. All that’s left is to watch instructional videos...and then here you are!
I love the way you say 'technique'! ❤️❤️❤️
Sending love to anyone who needs it 🧡 stay strong you beautiful human
Often the people who give out the most love need it themselves the most. I hope you are taking care of yourself and doing well, I’m sending bucketfuls of love back to you 💛💛
I have seen this video at least 50-60 times and it made me fall asleep, relax every time. I just adore this from end to finish. ❤️ so it is funny but since the holidays are approaching, I actually gave these folds a try and used this video as a tutorial :)) my gifts will be so unique! I also became obsessed with this wrapping method, thank you ✨❤️
YES! Maria is PULLING THROUGH for finals week 🤩🥳
I wish you SO much luck for your finals
Ikr!! I got a physics final tomorrow, oof im stressed.
@@alicestate2967 Thank you so much! I definitely will now that she posted this :)
@@deltaloraine GIRLL I wish you the best of luck!! You've got this!
Anybody else get a TINGLES EXPLOSION at 24:31 when she says "because it's silky it's nice to touch" and she gets a little louder on "touch" and runs her hands across the fabric and the box makes a crinkle noise, all at the same time??? 🤤 The most amazing moment of the whole video for me! Haha I play it over and over 💙
I have a “Fave ASMR” playlist on private and now that I look through them, most of them are Maria folding things. I literally can’t go to sleep without them anymore 😭
