Pro tip. Don't clear too much at once. Right now your soil health is very high due to the forest climate, if you do small patches of clearing and planting at a time it will work much better. You wait till your own plantings of trees and understories become well established before clearing more. Our previous generation learned the mistake of over clearing and now there's tons of re-greening projects all over the world trying to repair that mistake but will take a lot of time, you have a situation far ahead of the curve in the new age of thinking.
Im clearing small sections at a time and planting Native trees along with Fruit Trees as I go. Im also building Soil catchers so the soil will not run off the property. I also dont have much soil, most of the ground is just Rocks and Moss.
Nice going, I just want to say as you are clearing your land. If you intend to keep any Ohia Trees NEVER disturb the roots as the tree is sensitive and will kill it. Iv'e never seen an Ohia survive being transplanted.
Im in Puna District, I won't say exactly where yet because I dont live on the land, and I dont want anyone to steal building supplies from my property. Once I have my House and Winery Built ill make a video exactly where the farm is so people visiting Big Island can stop by the farm for tours and wine tastings.

What town is this property located?
I dont want to give specific details so people won't search for my property. But I live in Puna District, in the Rainforest on Big Island Hawaii.
Are you up in Pahoa? ❤ fun to see your project. I used to live up in Kohala. I can almost smell the air watching this. Nice to hear the birds.
