      I hope that now that Logan is gone, Roman can stop living for daddy’s approval and become his own man.
      Step one: As you say, breaking down his facade is huge. Now that Daddy isn’t here to berate him for displaying human emotions, he can (hopefully) learn to regulate his emotions like a normal, functioning adult (🎵Roman, Therapy! Ba, Ba, Ba-ba-ba 🎵)
      Step two: walking away from the family business. Go do something on your own. Roman has good instincts. I could see him working for Ferrari on the Formula 1 circuit or something like that. High profile, glamorous, fun, sexy, billions of dollars.
      The finale could be the best thing that ever happened to him.

      He's better off but I wouldn't say he "won". He just avoided disaster. He'll get paid for his share of the company and can do anything he wants but it's not clear that he has the means to be happy. Shiv is trapped in her marriage to Tom. Connor is pretty happy in the end.

    Everyone takes a shit on Tom.. they never seem to realize that
    everyone there takes shit like that unless it’s the Roy’s kids..
    Everyone keeps calling him a Cuck over Matsons remarks.. but they forget in the beginning of the show Tom was ready to go to blows over Shivs honor at the wedding, in Season 4 he was debating leaving her and there was no honor left to defend.
    And for those thinking Tom was gonna be partner DAY 1 with Mattson🤦🏻‍♂️ Mattson wanted a guy to carry out his mission who understood the business, not go against him unless there was a good reason. Shiv overstepped and already didn’t like Mencken.
    Tom in retrospect played the game more like Littlefinger. I’d say for who started as Middle Class/Lower Middle Class to CEO. He got the most done. Form here if he does well Mattson may ask him to be partner or he can be CEO else where.

      Techincally, Logan won since season 3 because he sold his soul (the company) to Mattson. Lukas Mattson is the true Successor of Logan Roy.
      "Logan Mark 2, except this time, he's fucking sexy!" Which is actually himself.
      Also, in the scene where Mattson is panicking after hearing from Tom that Greg's snitching to the siblings, he told his team to go to their phones immediately whatever his problem is. The same thing to Logan whenever he's on the team to make sure that everyone is on the phone. They are under pressure but they make sure that their team members are ready.
      When Kendall is on a team and try to be a leader, he fails as he mostly nervous, under pressure and will overwhelmed easily.

    I think you fundamentally misunderstand the show. You assume right off the bat that the family's status and title of CEO are desirable for these characters. The weight of the life that Logan made for his children and the pursuit of the CEO title nearly destroy Roman and Shiv. It kills Ken in the end. We should question and discuss their desires not their outcomes. Tom is the only character whose desires and outcomes align with each other. He wants wealth, status, and entitlement. Not only does he get those things, but they suit him.

    • @JungleForce
      @JungleForce  16 днів тому

      You're correct that the desires are pushed onto them by Logan but to say that none of them actually want it is just wrong. You could argue for why they want it, whether it be to prove something to themselves, their dad, or to finally get approval. The kids say multiple times how they basically couldn't live as a proletarian or anyone below filthy rich. The kids main problems is not their desire to be where they are but a childish desire to always get what they want and to get the constant approvial of their father which they lacked for so long.

    • @donotletthebeeswin
      @donotletthebeeswin 16 днів тому

      @@JungleForce Huh? I didn't say they didn't want it. I just said that their belief that it's desirable is itself disastrous. Roman has a nervous breakdown and concludes that they must be "bullshit" for even playing this game. Shiv makes every single mistake her mother did by thinking she could play by the same rules as her brothers despite being a woman. Ken loses everything in the end, including his will.

  • @chiomawoherem4625

    Tom would never have achieved anything without Shiv. Shiv also had to earn it referring to her conversation with Tom in s3. Tom betrayed Shiv is s3 but didn't earn anything. Shiv is the only one that has actually looked at to Tom. Also Shiv never became her mother, shiv earned her spot on the board unlike the others.

    • @annkey4091
      @annkey4091 Рік тому +1

      I agree that Tom got where he was because of his marriage to Shiv. I think that Shiv wanted that any of his advancement through Waystar|RoyCo would be through the positions that she obtained for herself. The only problem is that I don't think Shiv really knew what the CEO position entailed. I think that she thought that it was Logan barking orders and everyone jumping. Shiv did not realize that Logan was never going to make her a CEO, but Tom did. Shiv was going to thwarted at every turn by her siblings. Tom figured that out, too. So he carved his own path, without her, thus the betrayal. I also agree with you that Shiv becoming her mother in character is conjecture. When the series ended, like her mother, she is married to a CEO, but not in the vain of Logan Roy. When the series ended, Shiv is becoming a mother. Everything else is left to the imagination.

    • @margarethmichelina5146
      @margarethmichelina5146 3 місяці тому

      It's also ironic how Shiv determined to not become like her mother and Kendall determined to not become like her father but in the end of the day, they become someone whom they determined to not be.
      Shiv becomes a lonely CEO wife who will be stay at home while Kendall becomes angry and resilient man who create so many enemies except Shiv still being a shareholder while Kendall has nothing. Also, Shiv who mostly getting left behind and bullied by her brothers finally has her revenge for years, she's finally the one who left them and tear them apart.

    Everyone who makes the feminist argument for Shiv being a victim of patriarchy leaves out that fact she knows nothing about Roy Industries. At all. During the entire series she shines in manipulating people, she's a social climber, not a businesswoman , the "it's because she's a girl" horseshit loses all validity when the Pierce women came into the series, they're all women and all of them are on a different wavelength compared to Shiv, which is why Shiv gets so irritated and blurts out what she blurts out at the table. She was annoyed at the men of Royco had to stop in and do so much talking during the negotiations with the Pierce women because Shiv COULDNT HANDLE IT. For as goofy as the Royco men were, they understood the business, Shiv didnt. Period.

    • @annkey4091
      @annkey4091 4 місяці тому +2

      There is no feminist argument. Siobhan Roy was a dutiful daughter. She sold the business as Logan wanted and as Lady Caroline Collingwood said they should. She ended up being a partner with her husband Tom by voting to make him a CEO and having his child, as they both decided on in Season 1: he would "wear the big trousers", she would have his baby and do as she pleased. She became a Wambsgans by literally blowing up the Roy family (which is why she accepted Tom's invitation to go home with him).

      @@annkey4091 "She ended up being a partner with her husband Tom by voting to make him a CEO and having his child" - The exact concept that she was disgusted early on in the marriage, but jumped right into when she saw Tom wasn't the weak follower she thought he was. When Tom showed he was a real man during the election drama and instead of FIGHTING HIM, which is what Shiv was supposed to do, she cowered and became the good housewife - why? Because again, she's a social climbing coward.

      @@iamcase1245 Pardon? With her money and surname, what social ladder was she climbing? Show reads like she started with a leg up on her husband and billions of other people. The use of partner was how Siobhan introduced Tom to Connor while going to visit Logan at home after he left the hospital in S1.
      WHEN YOU ARE A WOMAN, YOU GO WITH THE BEST OFFER. No offers were coming from her brothers, that is for sure. As far as seeing Tom as a weakling, I am not so sure. She thought that he was "broad" before she married him. At the end of S3, Shiv found out he still is, as he carved his own corporate path without her. At the end of series, he is a 6'3" person who, yes, does the corporate thing for the man who writes his paycheck (just like he did for Logan). As far as the election was concerned, Shiv could not and would not fight Tom in front of Roman and Kendall, with whom she also had election issues. Tom is a paid employee of Kendall and Roman, like he was with Logan. It is something that he clearly understood. In fact, the argument with Tom included her pregnancy announcement, which she did not reveal to her brothers until the next day. Did you watch the program at all?
      Tom maybe angry/disappointed with Shiv, but he did invite her to his car as he knew it was a good idea to get her away from Matsson and that she blew up her Roy family. They will continue their "get mad, then get glad (in the boudoir)" relationship. Tom's "first, I look at the purse" strategy rewarded him handsomely as concerns of obtaining money, expensive suits and watches and other nice things came to fruition (as he and Siobhan agreed in S1).
