Austin Ashburn I saw her in that but I didn’t recognize her or know her name. The first thing I really noticed her in was when she played Kimberly the Pink Ranger in “Power Rangers” (2017)

Go watch it. That girl KILLED it as princess Jasmine. I think she was an ACTRESS first, she did POWERANGERS in 2017, she was the Pink one. And before that she did a Disney Channel movie called Lemonade Mouth. I think Singings been somethings shes just really good at, but they hired her to do all of it.
She's a singer and actress.. That explains why she is so good at singing.

Nay Is literally my favorite person. So many people criticizing her being Jasmine because she's not "Indian"but if they knew anything about her they would know that she's 50% Indian! She is amazing! Also your guys reaction to her is my favorite so far!

She's just both, she has some music out and she was in a couple of movies and TV shows but this is definitely the biggest thing she's been in so far. She was also in the power rangers movie (the latest one) and she was in Lemonade Mouth which is the most underrated Disney movie of all time.

I think the music version played in the movie was so more powerful and emotive!!! I mean, she didn't sing the hole song. It was divided in two parts, and it seemed more her raw voice, which I loved. Naomi was fantastic.

You guys had the most honest reaction of all. I'm pretty sure I was just like that watching the video for Speechless the first time: eyes wide open because I didn't want to blink in order to lose any detail.
If that isn't an Oscar nominee Song and if she doesn't performe that live at some point of the Oscars... then I'm done trying to figure out the music industry. Anyways, I'm just an ordinary gal who appreciates really good songs.

Late to the party, but she was actually discovered due to singing. If I remember right, some musician or producer found her singing at her parents church and signed her as an actress.
Nay was a singer way before she started acting (her parents are pastors and she sung in the choir) she was scouted there and she has some great EP’s out. She started acting afterwards but she’s a singer first and foremost.

Yes, the movie plays in the background while recording the music and stuff and that’s how they know where they are and how it goes with it I’ve been backstage playing with a band tbh it was awesome because we record to the lion king the stampede and jungle book

But ima just give 1 tiney tiny spoiler: the song Speechless is long so they had to put the first and second part in different places in the movie to make it shorter and build up tension to hear the whole song.
