Just went through this on a customers 2006 King Ranch. The truck told me it was a problem and confirmed it by eating the belt. Part of the cause was the low key bad belt tensioner. A new compressor clutch, tensioner, and belt and his 6.0 is happy again 👍
I like pressurization with dry nitrogen. Easy to hear and see leaks. Make repair and then charge to fact specs.

Hello Aaron, Just replaced the clutch on my F=150 which commonly goes bad , the rubber deteriorates , looks like thats what happened to that Commpressor. But like yoiu are going to do I replaced whole compressor. All good now for Chicago Humidity and heat.🤘

I bought the big boy snap on AC machine. It's nice and automated and has a vehicle database built into it.
One of the main reasons you should pull a vacuum on a A/C system is to lower the boiling point of any moisture in the A/C system so it can then pull the water vapors out of the system with the vacuum. The pump in the A/C machine is able to add freon if there is no vacuum on your system but it does charge a lot faster when its under vacuum.

@PowerStrokeTechTalkwARod I can imagine, me thinks it was the first day, well at least in my area, that was considered "muggy", plus had some close wild weather, rain here, but hail and other heavy weather just east of me, southern Minnesota BTW. You hang on this evening bud, might be headed your way weather wise!
Nice seeing you doing dynastic and repair videos again. I took my 2011 to a dealer to replace compressor, and they removed the front bumper, and when they put it back scratched my fenders. Now have to paint my truck.

So far I haven't run into any AC issues.
I'm currently replacing the fuel system on a 2012 F450 Lariat due to a CP4 failure. The pump is being replaced with a DCR. Also installed a wicked wheel on the turbo (has already been upgraded to a 2017). Also doing valve cover gaskets.

Some of those washer systems freeze easily even with -20° fluid. I found out about drilling out the check valve with a tiny drill bit.
The '84 Cadillac Seville I have the previous owner told me the A/C didn't work. I was underneath it after I got it and I looked up and the evap case has a hole in it. What a PITA it was to replace the case attached to the firewall and evap core. I had to remove the passenger side fender. I pulled the old core out and near the bottom was a hole where the core burst. Yeah someone definitely over charged it. I bet it sounded like an explosion when it blew. Id10ts!
Does the AC machine account for the refrigerant in the hoses? If I remember right, you can can leave the hose on the low side and turn on the AC and it will pull what in what was in the hose.

If the compressor went bad & the system showed it was sealed & held a vacuum??? So what happened to the refrigerant???

@@L15a5haw roughly 2500-3000 is the going rate at shops nowadays. I asked around because I thought it was high.
@@kentmartin4072 You have to watch out…some shops don’t know how to properly diagnose your AC system, therefore selling you on a complete system replacement. A competent mechanic is not cheap, but will often save you a ton of money in the long run by not over selling you on unnecessary replacement components.

Are you trying to program modules or just use it to check codes and watch live data. If you are not programming anything that is a great tool for the money.
What exactly happened? What flew off the compressor?
The AC compressor clutch failed.
Arod I replaced an injector on my truck with a factory OEM and when I'm just bumping the gas pedal like in a parking lot it wants to die do you know what I may have done wrong on the install.also the truck is a F250 2011 6.7 Thanks Boss

You skip a step on the AC machine. Aren’t you suppose to leave the Low side connected to let the hoses equalize after the vehicle is started and AC Max. 12:35
Either or, the machine is gonna suck put the hoses anyway. I juss do not leave it connected to the vehicle*
