The one insect I TRULY HA- Strongly Dislike is the Hornet.
Reason: Being terrorists
Mean red ants hornets right? Red ants are total terrorists if you ask me, terrorize for food, stealing food, even taking babies from black ants. Aaah, unbelievably awful. Good thing bees know tactics how to kill a hornet. Just make him overreact to heat. And nicely roast him.
I hate bugs, I’m scared of bugs and when I was like in 2nd grade we were watching charlottes web or something and a ant crawled on me while watching and I started crying and everyone laughed at me TwT

I’m from Kansas, and I think the experiences with June Bugs can be pretty universal. But there was a particularly bad year a couple years back. On this year in particular, there was just an absurd amount of them. I’m from a rural area, and in an expanse of grass there were just hundreds of them, flying and swarming it seemed. I too just get uncomfortable around them because of that sense like they just want to make you uncomfortable by getting too close, but the sheer volume of them in this year made me avoid going outdoors at certain hours of the day at all costs. In the years since, though, the numbers haven’t been like that again.

I found this when I searched "what eats Junebugs": Small mammals, like skunks and moles, feed on the grubs. Large frogs occasionally eat the beetles. But the main predators are parasitic wasps and flies. They lay eggs on the June bug's back under its elytra (outer wing shells) which hatch into larvae that burrow into and consume the beetle. AND Almost everything. I have watched cats catch and eat many June bugs. Raccoons, skunks and opossums will tear up a lawn to get at the grubs. My tarantulas love the grubs. Black widows catch many adults. Birds probably eat many, if not most.
The more you know..

I understand. These things are everywhere in my pool! I started to be afraid of them when I was on vacation. I was in the hot tub with the fam, when suddenly I feel something drop on my head and latching onto my scalp. My mom sees it, flicks it, then I gat out to see it and it was huge! What made it worse was that when it tried to fly, it went right to my feet! So that’s why I’m scared. The only thing I like about them is that they will just yeet themselves into my fire pit. And I love to watch the BURN...

June bugs were pretty much my favorite growing up. There used to be a ton of them of both kinds, the green ones and the brownish kinda harry ones that are sometimes called may beetles. I would catch them in my grandparents backyard and put them in containers to look at for a while. The only problem was that I never let them go, which probably led to their large decrease in numbers along with pretty much every other insect at my grandparents. But now I thankfully know to let anything I catch go and I have no idea why my family didn't stop me from keeping them until they died. I kinda lost interest in the green ones though because they excrete this weird really bad smelling goo from their body that makes your hands smell for a day or 2. I also don't get why they are so scary to you. They aren't actually trying to go near you, but instead are really stupid and clumsy and fly right into walls without even trying to avoid them. It almost sounds like someone is throwing rocks against your house lol. And to answer your question at the end of the video I do like june bugs. Its funny to watch them fly around, hit walls, and terrify people.

when a june big decides to fly in MY face, i like to play a game called "how far can i slap the junebub"
Growing up I always heard they were blind and are attracted to the carbon dioxide you breath out, hence why they follow you constantly...
Here's some stories:
When we were really little and playing outside in the backyard, we all spotted a june bug. My mom ran in the house first and _locked_ the screen door! So we 3 little kids were trapped outside with the bug, banging on the door!
Some years later I was sitting on my bed, and felt a "candy wrapper" under my sheets. I kept trying to feel and wiggle it out from under the sheets absent-mindedly... The absolute chilling fear that ran up my spine once I saw what I've been feeling for the past few minutes. I immediately ran out my room all the way to the other side of the house, crying and wailing up a storm. Everyone tried to calm me down but I just couldn't!
I recall a june bug within our car once, forgot how that ended lol
Sometime after starting a relationship with my bf, I find out that he has absolutely zero fear of them. He picks them up and lets them crawl on his shoulder...
Oh my god I didn’t know how common of a fear this was, my family made me feel like a wimp for strongly disliking these horrid creatures. One time I was at the backseat going to like a gas station I think when mid intersection one of those things flew inside and just hung around a bit. I thought “oh he’s just gonna be off his way, maybe he stumbled here by accident.” He pokes around then sits on my lap seeing how I would react and I’m frozen out of fear. I wiggled and it flew around my head until I’m like convulsively shaking- it’s my defense mechanism actually, I call it the flailing and wiggling maneuver. But that same day when I arrived home, idk if the previous incident was somehow linked, but I find a June bug(dead) on the floor of my room. I don’t know how it happened the windows were shut, and if any insect made a break while I was opening the door. But it’s just there and I don’t know why it’s there, so being the big boy that I am, I cry to my mom. AND SHE SAID HE WANTED FRIENDS BUT IT WAS ALREADY DEAD. LIKE WAS IT THAT SAME JUNE BUG FROM THE CAR RIDE WHO KNEW WHERE MY HOUSE WAS BUT DIED IN THE PROCESS? Just one of my childhood mysteries thanks for reading my ramble:)
