Men from different generations with different values. I just enjoy their work and often disagree with both their political views.

I believe that actors and people of fame should be recognized for their ability and talent. I also believe that their private lives should remain private.
Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

Eastwood is a hugely effective actor and director. The troubles between himself and John Wayne were rooted in a conflict of values. Wayne was a straight-up Conservative whilst Eastwood was a nihilist. (He wasn’t even a revolutionary.) In fact, the nihilist rejects the very idea of a moral code - which was why you can’t engage with him at any level. Remove everything that suggests a moral code and you are left with nothing but yourself. You need no-one. You have no obligations. Needless to say, nihilism is pretty rare. Especially in the States where responsibility is very important.

As for John Wayne, didn't he squirm outta be drafted 🙄 Elvis did not.
I think the Oscar wins says it ALL as to who was more popular and more skilled, Clint likes more reality I his movies which is a good thing IMO.

High Plains Drifter was a really, really brilliant film. Although I totally respect John Wayne and love his films and his fantastic career, in this particular case, I do not agree with him.

I`ve heard Clit Eastwood has a home on an island not far from me and folks that have seen him report that he gets around in normal cars and clothes and appears to be just a regular guy. Cool.

Even the actors who have worked for Clint Eastwood praise his talents as an actor and producer. I like almost every movie he has made or directed.

I think this is more of a professional stigma and experiences anyone at the top of their game face. It is only unique because it wasn't character actors and actresses. I can't tell you how many times I was fired or replaced because of bosses relationships with female co-workers or applicants.

Eastwood was right about African American in Iwo Jima, the only part of their battle were in Europe, and more as drivers or suppliers than fighters, because of segregation.

    IN MY VIEW
    It appears
John Wayne became too big for his pants believing HE was the 'Overseer Police' & 'Sole Star' of Western movies. He should have kept his mouth shut accepting himself and Clint Eastwood as different personality professionals. Clint Eastwood remained SECURE in himself all his life. It appears John Wayne was until he became jealous of equal talent favored around the world.

I like a few of Eastwoods films but they, just like Wayne’s were if their time and are constipated maybe it’s due to the age and era the creators were products of. John Wayne had no range as an actor he specialised in playing John Wayne, Eastwood had range but his portrayals were slanted not nuanced.

I used to adore Clint Eastwood. Amazing movies. I watched Rawhide throughout my childhood. Watched and loved all his movies especially the spaghetti westerns and the Dirty Harry series. This is all the way in Nigeria.
I did not like his treatment of Sandra Locke . However, his demeaning of Barack Obama by speaking to an empty chair that Obama was supposed to be sitting on was it for me. I did not care for him from that day.

I never really liked those so called Spaghetti Westerns, it always seemed to me that the horses looked like they were jumping up instead of taking a stride! But after those he made some okay Westerns, after getting back to the U.S. ! After I've seen some of these documentaries, and his using women, and cheating on his spouses, I've lost a heck of a lot of respect for the man! The Duke was right on his perspectives, in my opinion! I could never treat the woman I Loved the way he did, but it seems like the world is the same way, and most could care less about God ! And that's a cruel shame!!! ✝️🙏❤️❤️❤️
