There shouldn't be any problem with you doing this. WPML Media Translation is an add-on plugin that comes with WPML Multilingual CMS and WPML Multilingual Agency account types and allows you to display different media files (including PDFs) in different languages. For a more detailed answer, please use our Pre-sales Questions page, here: wpml.org/purchase/pre-sales-questions/
Brilliant thanks. Do you just double your pages from the initial english version? How does it work with your media that don’t have the alt and description in french? Do you submit a second sitemap to google?
Hi, Antoni. Yes, of course, you can do that. There is a WPML Language Switcher widget in Elementor. You can read all about how to use it in our documentation, here: wpml.org/documentation/plugins-compatibility/elementor/#wpml-language-switcher-widget
So first I need to purchae the plugin. And then I need to purchase credits to translate my website. Sorry what is the point of purchasing the plugin in the first place? I mean its a license
You get free translation credits when you purchase the CMS or Agency tiers of WPML, which include 90k and 180k credits respectively. So no- you don't need to purchase the plugin and credits separately. Credits also renew every year for free, up to 60k for CMS, and 120k for Agency.
Hi@@asasas-jy6kq! When deciding the amount of free credits WPML clients get, we did research into how many words for translation an average site using WPML has. The amount we give out allows 80% of our clients to completely translate their sites. If you need more words, they're really affordable and you own the translations (they're saved in your site's database, unlike some other translation plugins out there). Plus, WPML's translation memory makes sure that if you ever need to translate the same sentence/string of text again, you don't need to use credits for retranslation as everything is saved and reused from your translation memory.
I would like to translate my woocommerce store. The problem is that I have some product (mugs) that have text in my local language. So the mugs will be different for other market (different language). With plugin I can translate the description text of product but I would need also to show different image (mug with text in other languge). Is something like this possible? Thank you.
Hi, Michael. I'm sorry you feel this way, however, could you please share a bit more about why you say this? What is the exact issue you encountered? It would be most helpful if you can share a URL to the ticket(s) you reported in our support so I can look into what happened.
@@WPML i am tired of explaining or sharing infos to your unqualified support team that couldnt fix anything in the past. It needed hours to communicate, in endless posts. most replies are about updating the plugin as a solution. The problems are multiple and deep, and it dont get better with every update, even worse. Debug your plugin and dont try to get more money with translating jobs.
These translation credits are a terrible thing. The plugin itself is very expensive, and on top of that, they double-charge clients. Such a shame. I bought a plugin two years ago, and it doesn't work anymore. I have to purchase it again for $100, and there are no updates available for a reasonable amount. Unethical practice.
Hello, we're sorry you feel this way, but I'd like to clarify a few things you might have misunderstood. When you buy WPML, you get thousands of free credits for translating your site which is enough to translate 80% of the sites out there (we've done the research). And, if you spend all these credits, additional ones do cost money, but it's really affordable. Also, WPML has a yearly subscription, so you're paying a yearly amount to get access to plugin updates and professional support. If you have canceled your subscription and have an outdated version of WPML, it's probably not working because of the WordPress 6.1 release which broke some backward compatibility. So, just to be clear, it was WordPress that broke compatibility, not WPML, and we actually fixed and released an update as soon as WP 6.1 went out. And this is exactly why you should keep all your plugins up-to-date, not just WPML, to make sure nothing breaks, to make sure you're running the latest versions.
I really dont get it. bought the highest plan, stuck with some otgs installer and cant find the settings shown in the video. why so complicated

is there anyway to add the language switcher yourself using elementor? like a drop down selection box and style it etc?...

WPML can have language specific attachments as far as I know, so images should also be no problem
Yes, you can do this with WPML Media Translation
How can I save translated templates in elementor?
When I translate them, one of the two languages stops working.
