Generally with the Carcano you need to be a bit more forceful with the bolt. If you're too gentle with it, it tends to get stuck. And as you probably already know by now, the carcano has unusual sights compared with other rifles! Instead of matching the notch on the front sight with the top of the rear sight, you want to actually match the notch with the bottom of the rear sight 😁 Great video, love the sound of it on this one
It's a nice carbine, but also on mine the bolt is hard to manipulate. I ended with a small shortening of the bolt spring, that helped a bit. About the sight: it's not shooting high, it's just the sight that work oddly, in fact you have to put the front sight at the base of the V notch. With a traditional sight picture you are zeroed for 300 meters. Grettings from Italy
That is the best shape rifle coming from RTI that I ever seen. They can send out some real junk sometimes. As a temporary fix use JB weld epoxy and form it on your front sight. File it to the shape and height you want. I did this on a 1895 Chilean 7mm Mauser and It is still on there after 3 years and many rounds.
Yeah can't believe they bought from RTI but good for Jeb...... I will NEVER BUY from them again....Rather spend the money on a decent Milsurp rifle or pistol.. Jeb n his Father have good toys and I'm surprised they bought from them....be well.
I just ordered an 1891 Carcano Calvary carbine from Royal Tiger Imports yesterday. They are running a special Good to very good for $199.00.I figured what the heck.
The reason it shoots so high is because the bullet it calls for is the .268 bullet, not the ppu .264 bullet, the only place i know of that sells the correct ammo is steinel ammo and they have the correct kind for around 40 for a box of 20.
Yea i just purchased one of the Euro Carcano's. Although i purchase one of the models without that huge ugly bayonet on the end. hehe its not that bad but i like the other style better. There was a batch that came in ,that didnt come from Ethiopia so when i saw that i snatched one. Ill have ot buy a standard carcano bayoney later. Right now they want 100bucks for one. I know if i look hard enough ill find one cheaper? Hope you can have fun and even hunt with that? If you look into the gun on Wiki or some other site you can figure out how to adjust the sights so you hit what you shoot at, i hope at lease? lol great video bud thanks
I’m planning on making a video with reloads for the 6.5 carcano, that should get it more on target with .268 diameter bullets that correctly fit the rifling.
@@jebclark3988 Well i have never done more then pull the press arm down as a kid while my Pop Pop was making some 12guage lol and i just cant come up with enough cash to buy what i would need ot make it! but i will check out the video? hehe

Was this a fair, or very good model?
Very to excellent condition
Just found the channel. Very interesting. Ammo may be very hard to find, however. Subscribed.
Thanks for subscribing. I’ll post a video soon going over reloading 6.5 carcano with proper .268 diameter bullets
Can you tell us the distance to that target?
