@@couturehomeandbody I asked a question can you add wax to the digiboil. Since they are the company that made the product perhaps they would have valid information. Just in case all these sellers are using false advertisement to candlemaker claiming it's ok when in fact it may not be ok.
I hate that you went through this, but I absolutely love videos like this. The honest info and chats given to other makers of all industries is so authentic, and really helps solidify that you care about your community and want the best for them. Thanks for sharing it with us! I can’t wait to see how your next container works. (Also love the new intros and outros!)
Thank you ☺️ I think it’s important to share the good and the bad because owning and operating a small business isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. I’m optimistic about the new melter. I’ll have an update to share soon.
Your commentary is exactly why I’ve been so apprehensive about buying a Digiboil. I told myself there’s no way those things will last since the wax is much heavier than liquid. I bought two decent wax melters on Amazon, but they do not hold as much as a digiboil. And I sure as hell can’t justify a commercial wax melter at this point in my business. I wish you the best outcome possible.
Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/Li-yFkDModo/v-deo.html I ended up getting this one and it is MADE for candle makers. I have a discount code as well! It’s not sponsored. I reached out to the company after I bought it to see if they could provide a discount and they graciously agreed. 🤗
There's nothing more frustrating than a company that completely checks out when you need them to respond :( Thank you for posting this. I've been thinking of investing in one this year. I think knowing the limitations will help in prolonging the life of the next one. Hopefully someone comes out with a tool made directly for our purpose.
Just want to say I love your videos! So helpful and informative! I am just starting out with wax melts, body scrubs and CP soaps in the R&D stage. Hopefully will be in business by mother's day. I made your recipe of laundry soap and gave some away at Christmas. They all LOVED it! Used the fresh linen odor eliminator (previously had purchased) and separate batches of amber waters nature's garden and baja cactus blossom flaming candle. You are such an inspiration! Loving your FO review videos too! Please keep them coming! ❤
Thank you, Ellen! What an exciting time for your new business. I love the testing stage! Omgosh thank you!! I appreciate you and your kind words. I love that you made the laundry soap as gifts, too. Homemade is the BEST. I’ve got my liquid version coming soon. You’ll have to lmk which one you like more if you try it 🤗 Aaaannddd… I’ve got more FO reviews coming so don’t worry, I gotchu. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR LAUNCH later this year!!
Thanks so much for your video! My digiboil started leaking soy wax out of the vents along the side & back. Had mine for about 2 years + 17 days. So sorry you received such awful customer service. Thank goodness I keep my good ole presto pots. They are not too efficient but great for backup. I’ve been making candles for 20 years & been thru multiple wax melting options. On the hunt for something new now.
Thank you for being here! 20 years making candles is freaking amazing!! It’s true, the presto pot is ‘ol reliable. 😝 I found a new wax melter AND it’s created for candle makers. No BS and the customer service was outstanding. You can check it out here! ua-cam.com/video/Li-yFkDModo/v-deo.html
So helpful, thanks! I just ordered one (but not from Howdy Brewer, as originally planned). Where did you find the replacement silicone washer and do you happen to know the size? I'm wondering if I'll need it right away when I start testing the boiler. Also, did you have to add melted wax to boiler before adding the wax flakes? I use 464 soy, so similar to the 444 you use. Thank you!
The replacement washer I bought on Howdy. Check my video for size because I’m not sure. They only sold one washer and it was for that part specifically. You’ll def want that before you start making or it will leak! I just added the flakes, no melting required. Def check back. I’d like to know how it goes for you! Thank you for stopping by 🤗
It’s leaking from the temp sensor . You nut 🔩 is lose and needs to be tightened. It’s from dropping heavy wax in it. It’s the little nip thing at the bottom of the tank .
Heya! Thanks for your input. We trouble shot all of those things. The nut wasn’t loose. I use soy wax flakes that are super light and didn’t drop any heavy wax inside the boil. The nip thing was fully in tact and didn’t have any issues either.
Oh gosh I disagree with you there, Brendon. Not only is that costly, it’s awful for the environment. I’m not inclined to spend $200 a year every year for the main candle making tool to run my business. Not to mention all of the wax that is stuck inside the broken Digi. I still haven’t been able to get it out. That’s another $120 in wax. 😩 The DIY Wax Melter is where it’s at!
Yeah, you're right - we were wrong in that assumption - though I will say, when brewing beer, you don't leave liquid in there for weeks at a time. So the weight/buckle theory still seems like a possibility. Perhaps there's some expansion/contraction when going from solid to liquid to solid.
I just sent an email to the company that makes digiboil which is kegland they are based in australia.
Awesome. What did you ask? Please report back what they say!

Amazing. Thank you! I hope they get back to you soon!
I am also in Australia and was looking into this brand too! Can't wait to hear the reply 😊

Right?! Stay tuned because I *might* have found one that ticks most of the boxes. 🤞🏻

Thanks for sharing. I really want one but I don’t make a lot of candles for I’ll stick with my presto for now
The Presto Pot is perfect for small batches. Thank YOU for sharing!
This video is useful and helpful! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I think I’ll start filling mine halfway too. My wax is in bead form and I fill to the very top 😳.
Oh shoot yeah. If you can take anything away from my experience, I think that is the thing to look out for. Thanks, Rawn ❤️
I'm off that day celebrating my bday on 1/4.
Happy birthday! 🎉 This video premieres on Friday, January 5th.

Even if one breaks on you every year, 200 bucks a year isnt bad for the amount of time and effort the digiboil saves you.

Isn't wax lighter than water? A Digiboil full of wax weighs less than a Digiboil full of water or beer.
Omgosh great point, Randy! I feel so dumb 😂 We still have no clue what broke the Digi. 🤷🏻♀️
