2:01 It's worth mentioning that EVERY piece of music MinusT picks is a remix of an original Touhou song. Music is probably what Touhou is most well known for. The creator, ZUN, is an absolute genius of a composer. Funnily enough, his most popular work "U.N. Owen Was Her?" was composed in 4 HOURS WHILE HE WAS DRUNK. And, while it is an absolute banger, it is nowhere near his best piece. I highly suggest checking out ZUN's music. He makes everything by himself, usually with a beer lol. He also has a certain software that keep track of whatever tunes or melodies someone plays on it even if they aren't recording, so that's neat. TL;DR ZUN's music is the best thing to grace mankind (imo) and you should definitely check it out :D (little side note: Touhou characters have something of a sixth sense; so, they are able to navigate miles of bullets without getting hit)

I feel like now's a good time to put a reminder that everything in the video is based on the Touhou bullet hell games, in this case the -sixth- (I'm dumb, it's actually the 11th) game in the series, Subterranean Animism, though there's a few fun nods to one of the fighting games as well. All the attacks, the music, the environments, are adapted from the game in one form or another...which given the game's a top-down 2d bullet hell, just makes it even more impressive.

I'm surprised nobody listed any of the bosses on this, or the story. I'll give it a shot then.. Firstly We are going to Hell. Eastern Mythology has a TON of Hells, so we are more specifically going to "Former Hell" where the demons / Oni have either abandoned it, or stayed with absolutely nothing to do.. There are evil Spirits leaking in through the hotsprings in the world above and Marisa wants to know what's going on. But first we gotta actually get there. While following the tunnel down we meet.. 2:51 Yamame Kurodani, stage 1 boss, shes not related to the Incident, just a bystander who got in the way. she is a Tsuchigumo Yokai. Basically a Japanese spider monster, She attacks with the Spellcard: Spider "Cave Spider's Nest" (Max difficulty version) Then the animation artfully transitions at 3:00 To Parsee Mizuhashi Parsee Mizuhashi is a Hashihime , something like a Yokai born from insane levels of Envy. A famous Hashihime in folklore wallowed in jealousy under a bridge to become a monster. So Parsee is appropriately met while crossing an abandoned bridge.. She attacks with the Spellcard: Grandpa Hanasaka "Shiro's Ashes" (max difficulty version) Next up we finally made it to the Capital of Former Hell, but where to go from there..? 3:08 Yuugi Hoshiguma Despite being a Stage 3 boss, She's actually an insanely powerful Oni (basically a Japanese demon/ ogre / drinks a lot of Saki) and one of the former "Four Heavenly Kings"/"Four Deva Kings" of the mountain named after a set of Buddhist deities. She intends to fight you without spilling a drop of her drink (In addition to the star on her horn. This clearly proves she's a Joestar) Yuugi is living in the Capital of former Hell... and is apparently bored as hell. She attacks with the Spellcard: Feat of Strength "Wind Blowing Down from Mt. Ooe" Then after stopping for a drink, she stomps the ground, starting her Spellcard: Big Four Arcanum "Knock Out In Three Steps" After fighting her she decides she had a fun time and helps guide them to 3:24 "The Palace of Earth Spirits" This is where the major plot begins Where "The Master Of The Palace Of The Earth" appears 3:27 Satori Komeiji. (This one has a rather long) At some points after Former Hell was abandoned, Satori started living in "The Palace of Earth Spirits", directly above "The Hell Of Blazing Fires", people generally don't like Satori so she was eventually the only one living in the whole Palace. The reason people don't like Satori is her "Third Eye" forces her to everyone's mind/heart, to the extent of ridiculousness. For this reason very nearly absolutely everyone wants to avoid her, so she has no friends whatsoever. And what do people with no friends do..? They get pets...... More on that later. Satori meets with Marisa who is asking about whatever and reads her mind. She presumably gets excited having a human around who seemingly doesn't care about her power and decides to test her/ play with her. Satori uses her power to to start stealing Spellcards from Marisa's assistants. 3:28 Satori starts off with what might be the Spellcard. Recollection "Terrifying Hypnotism" 3:35 Satori's third eye sees Marisa's friends through her mind, and activates Alice's Spellcard: Recollection "Return Inanimateness" Alice Margatroid's Spellcard (The girl with the dolls) 3:41 Spellcard: Recollection "Princess Undine" Patchouli Knowledge's Spellcard. (The girl in the pajamas) 3:47 Recollection: "Exteeeending Aaaaarm" Nitori Kawashiro's Spellcard. (The girl making the SciFi tech) So after the fight, Satori let's Marisa pass to investigate "The Hell Of Blazing Fires" and tells her she can ask her pets about it. (Pets she has doing manual labor in hell because she's either sickly, depressed, or lazy .idk) 3:52 "The Hell Of Blazing Fires" 3:54 Rin Kaenbyou/Orin [Hell's traffic accident] Her job (which she seems to love) is taking already dead corpses in a wheelbarrow to burn as fuel in "The Hell Of Blazing Fires" One day, she noticed that the flames were extremely strong - much stronger than usual - and, worried, forced evil spirits above-ground to try and signal youkai to come help. She did not tell Satori about the possibly gigantic power the other pet had obtained, however, and decides to figure things out for herself. But she wasn't expecting a human. So she assumes it must be a corpse for the fire and and attacks. ..(I'll finish this later) I spent 2 and a half hours on it at least without realizing
Marisa's helpers are : Alice Margatroid, youkai magician and puppet user who is Marisa's neighbor. First appeared TH5 Patchouli Knowledge, youkai magician and librarian at the Scarlet Devil Mansion, whose books are constantly stolen by Marisa. First appeared TH6 Nitori Kawashiro, a kappa who is the closest thing this world has to an engineer, got onboard when she heard about nuclear power. First appeared TH10

To give you an explanation as to who the "Hell" the bird with the arm cannon was, she's Utsuho Reiuji, otherwise known as Okuu. Long story short, a goddess that was introduced in Touhou 10 wanted hot springs to get her business going better so she decided to kill the third legged crow god of the sun, went down to the abandoned hell, and gave the corpse to Okuu in exchange for generating enough heat to power the hot tubs. She did not however account for the bird's lack of intellect and excess of power, which meant that not only were geysers and evil spirits escaping the hellhole, she was about to cause the 4th nuclear disaster on Japanese soil. Edit: Forgot to mention, the cannon (which was modeled after a real nuclear control rod) is in fact, a limiter and a refinery. When it's on you ain't getting the full extent of the Yatagarasu's power
I think of okuu's control rod less of a limiter and more of a 'focuser'. Just like a magifying glass can turn the sun into a deadly laser, it lets her control Yata's power into spell cards.

she didn't kill yatagarasu, yatagarsu was shot down by hou yi in ancient times.
