Dalton is undoubtedly the MVP for the regular season. I mean, everybody can score some boundaries, but consistent defense like he has? That’s raw instinct and reflexes. The Breakdowns are where they are because of him.
I would love to see his DRS. It’s going to be insane. I mean he stopped 12 runs in Jimmy’s first over.

Dalton mvp not just his defensive plays, but striking too and in this game his baserunning with Luke was the best we've seen.
This is my favorite warehouse game, and this series has been incredible. thank you to everyone behind the scenes and especially jack on the mic.
Really fun that the whole drafting process has actually landed in terms of seeing team strategies and philosophies play out. Could have just been a goofy gimmick that was just some fun window dressing but you can actually feel the impacts of the captain's approaches through every game.
Also Jake elicited two rare laugh-out-loud-alone-on-my-phone-in-the-darkness moments from me with his incisively vivid descriptions of Joez as a 'lost Dominican sailor' and 'standing like a little kid' during his interview. That's some unparalleled broadcasting right there finding the perfect words to frame what we're seeing.
...and further, I think that the draft is going to impact all the other sports because BIP has shown not just cricket skills but overall athleticism of EVERYONE in the pool. It's going to impact the choices for all the following games just because athletic benchmarks have been laid down.
Dalton hasn't looked back since he was the umpire earlier in the BIP round of CL. It's as though his cricket IQ has increased since that day by 1000%
Would be an interesting addition if the 1 seed got to pick their opponent in the playoffs. Especially with the short regular seasons

Jimmy is such a stat nerd that the first thing he says after sweeping the regular season is "Joez, you pitched like fukin amazing, dude your pitching stats are gonna be incredible" lol love how serious you guys take this games, thats what makes them so enjoyable!
I'm amazed at how in the begining it's like both captain knows what each other plans are. they are talking to their teams like a script. obviously they picked each other brains in the booth past 2 games lol
Great game but I also gotta comment on the amazing commentary. Jack/Jake has to be the best duo so far.
So true!!!!! Commentary is a big deal and there are certain people I just can't listen to on commentary, it takes away from the game. Jack/Jake are number one for sure.

Also, during Franchise Ball in Play I am really curious to see how many of the pro cricket players try to ramp the ball and really take advantage of that super close back wall now that it's available this year.
They will and it frightens me.
@@ben2976The addition of curves makes it less an issue to me, honestly. I think we're gonna see cricketers take the wicket position more and try to induce batters to test for the back wall and see. Lou could have made some OUTSTANDING catches today, and I think his wicketkeeping positioning overall is going to be the model going forward.

I'm loving the captains' league so far!I It feels just as competitive and important as previous tournaments without sacrificing too much production value. I do still think though that the Ball in Play format could be improved upon.
To me most the whole point behind the creation of the Ball in Play league was to emphasize defense and baserunning, as an alternative to Blitzball Battle which is more a game of pitcher vs. hitter. But teams have started to realize that it's just not worth it to run when 90% of your runs come from boundaries, and it's more worthwhile to just not run and keep your best hitters up. It's made running feel irrelevant because winning mostly comes down to who hits more boundaries. It's become more like slow pitch softball in a warehouse instead of cricket. I'm not sure what the solution is, maybe make boundaries worth less runs?? Then every run becomes more important and teams are incentivized to run more?
I'd like to see a cricket bat. Seems like playing to the back boundary could be more viable.

I agree it can be viable but running overall is usually not worth the risk considering how much more valuable boundaries are. The Breakdowns could've not run for 2 a single time and still would've easily won. I just think boundaries are worth too many runs @@wawingnut1

BBD has been pitching well and that's about all that the Goodfellas have had going for them so far. Their defense especially has just been atrocious

I think you should be able to call time if you have the ball and both others are in their creases. It's a way to defend against them getting intentionally out and adds a way to be smart about being out of the crease as a runner if you want to make them not able to call time on you.
Wish the regular season mattered for more than just seeding, you could use the 4 team playoff format the IPL and the NBA play-in use, or you could have the 2 seed go straight to the semis & the 1 seed go straight to the finals (I think the KBO does something like that? not sure)

There is no timeout when comes to running. timeout comes in when batsman should be ready within two minutes in the crease otherwise the batsman is out according to the law.
