- In this overland vlog we will show you our trip to Ireland. We traveled with our Land Rover Defender and Labrador Lewie and drove along the Wild Atlantic Way. We had one question: ‘How wild is the Wild Atlantic Way?’ and in this video we will show you what we found.
A great adventure with the three of us. As it was our second overland trip with our dog we had a lot to discover.

Your video is very good, however the wild Atlantic way is too commercialised now, about 20 years ago....it was truly wild and beautiful, and a heaven for free camping, and van life....now its cheaper to go the Europe for 2weeks all inclusive than travel southern Ireland for 5 days!!!....hope you enjoyed your trip around the west coast of Ireland 🇮🇪...I'm Irish by the way!
@@terrybrennan6707 true. Especially the west can be crowded. Donegal is pretty relaxed though!
Beautiful. The first 300 kms of the WAW takes one thru' West Cork well worth the detour. I may be biased however as I grew up there.

@@lewieandtherover Roscoff to Cork ferry allows you discover Brittany along the way. I'm not a dog owner though, so maybe 15 hours sailing time isn't practical.

I’m from Dublin but have visited West Cork since I was born. Never get tired of seeing Irelands scenery. Up there with the best in the world. Such a magical little island. Proud to be Irish. And proud that my ancestors kicked the Brit’s out of this country.

This stirs the Riordan in me. Although I have never been there myself, ancestral stirs in me- views, hiking, driving and music. But being from sunny SA the weather puts me off. We adore our doggy and travelled with her too. Ps. Dont drink alcohol it will ruin your life

OMG!! I live in Ireland 21 years now. The area around and the peninsula where the Sleeve League cliffs are is crazy wild. Is the best of Ireland. Went there many times and have very special memories. For me, travelling alone, is wild and deep as a mystical journey, there. The North of Ireland is fantastic and fortunately not heavily exploited as tourist destination.

Slieve League is impressive. Did the road in VW hippie bus with left side steering from Denmark. Will never forget. Crawled to the edge on hands and knees. I asked a person on the way up if it was worth it - she affirmed and boy she was right.
What a great story! It definitely was the highlight of our trip. It feels much more wild and the hike up there makes it even more special ❤️
The wild Atlantic way is amazing 👏 Donegal has some of the most amazing places in the whole of Ireland if not the world.
It is an epic experience and definitely wild!

9:18 Kylemore Abbey 9:40 Doolough Valley. 10:02 Dùn Briste 12:09 Pilgrim's Path at Sliabh Liag. 14:34 Bàd Eddie. Phenomenal footage, Sliabh Liag is stunning but Croaghaun cliffs on Achill Island are higher. If you return I'd highly recommend a visit to Inishbofin Island.
Ah we havent veen to Croaghun Cliffs, definitely on the list for next time!

Good video. It is a beautiful route thru Ireland. I live there and it is not really very wild. You are always only a few miles from a town and somewhere to stay. Well worth the drive but not really a wilderness. Very much a managed landscape. I drive the route several times a year from Waterford to Donegal.
That’s maybe true. But from a Dutch perspective the cliffs and nature can look very wild 😜

I really enjoyed this and see your Landy has something that I’ve never see before. That’s a combination of the opening flap vents and the bonnet with the bump. Mine is a 2009 model 90 and while it has the bump for the 2,4 lt Ford motor, it does not have the opening flap vents. All the best from 🇿🇦

Thank you 🥰 We have a TD4 Bonnet that we installed later. There is a bigger Turbo on the TD5 engine but this isn't the reason for the bonnet. Just for the looks 😛
