Made this last night, was a huge hit! my whole family loved it. I only had cream of mushroom and used maggi chicken flavor bouillon. put in with chops, potato, carrots, onion and garlic. the hardest part was waiting-especially while I was browning garlic and onion in fat from pork chops OMG!!! smelled so good. thanks for sharing.
This video helped me so much. I've stopped making pork chops period because it always came out dry, I've literally heard ppl say "the longer it cooks, the more tender" then explaining that the if it's tough, the tissues are not broken down. I've tried a few different times on low for 6 hours, 7, 8 and it came out inedible, SO DRY every time. My chops at the local grocery are also on the thinner side, maybe half an inch. When you said "cook for 3 hours" and i did....wow...just excellent and soft and juicy. I thought I was going nuts for a while there! Thank you so much ❤️
just discovered your channel. I love your videos. I've never been very successful in the kitchen but it's my new years resolution to learn how to cook! I love that you keep things simple! thank you :)
I made this last night with cream of celery and cream of onion soups, and minus the sweet potato (didn't have any) But I did use carrots and regular potatoes. I really think the fact that I browned the meat first (like your video) it made a huge difference in the flavor. I've seen other videos where they just throw the raw pork chops (or whatever) in the slow cooker, and go from there. But this really was so much better tasting! Thanks for your great videos. I will keep watching for other ideas!
Wonderful idea David ! Great for us in western Canada... as we approach fall.. after a super hot summer. Have to pull out my slower cooker ! Thanks. You are looking back to full health .. which is just great .
omg i made this with onion , carrots , potato and celery (fresh) and then instead of adding soup i added a can of gravy and watered it down a little omg it was sooo good !!!!
I just ordered a case of slow cooker liners, checked my email for the order confirmation, and BAM! There was an awesome slow-cooker recipe from you that just arrived moments ago! I have not yet tried pork chops in the slow cooker, but it sounds fantastic. Will try it ASAP!
I just started eating meat again earlier this year...after 13 years going without. Pork chops were one meal I just craved! I've got a couple on hand and I'm definitely going to have to try this recipe. Thanks again! I love your channel. :)
Thank you for the recipe and I love all your recipes because they are simple, easy to follow and look yummy. Do I need to trim away the fat from the pork chop to make the dish healthier? Do I need to put on meat tenderizer before cooking ?
I use to do this in the oven...my boys loved it. I never thought about using my slow cooker, that is shoved way back in the cupboard..digging it out now & giving it a go! I made your Strawberry Bread but with blueberries.....YUMMMMMM Good to see your looking well & back in the kitchen David :)
Making this now with random stuff I had in the cabinet. Im using canned carrots..lol Canned potatoes and real potatoes, one stick of celery, 1 cup beef stock and cream of mushroom soup.
Wonderful pork dish David. I have loin pork chops in the freezer & have been wondering how to use them without drying out. I don't have a slow cooker but I am sure your recipe would work fine slow cooked in the oven. Thank you for the inspiration :)
marie Savino If you have a large casserole dish (with a lid) you can do this in the oven. 200 degrees C / 400 degrees F for about 1.5 hours or until vegetables are tender and meat is cooked all the way through ;)
Too many people just throw raw unions and meat into the slow cooker. I think it's absolutely necessary to brown off the unions to get rid of that "raw" flavor, and searing the meat adds so much flavor. Cheers!
love my slow cookers.. yup I have 2.. one smaller n one larger.. pork chops are one of my fave things to cook in them.. haven't tried the cream of celery soup b4...
Great meal David! You're looking so well and chipper! I hope all is well with you :) I've done these with Cream of Mushroom and Chicken. They are really good! (I add a little soy sauce to mine.) Take care :)
I want to make sometimes smothered pork chops and sometimes chicken breast and I’ll make mashed potatoes by boiling the potatoes and placing them into the bowl of a stand mixer. I’ll use the beating attachment to mash the potatoes and then replace the beater with the whisk attachment and I’ll add unsalted butter, sour cream, cream cheese, and salt and mix everything together with the whisk attachment.
emergency question! Do I need the one cup of stock if I am not using root vegetables? I'm using peas and onions with mushrooms and the mushrooms I have already cooked.
Hello David! I've been watching your videos for a couple of weeks now and you are definitely one of my favourites to watch! I love your easy cooking methods and your sense of humour. :D I am also an Australian so it also helps to know exactly what ingredients you are using haha! ;) I think you are sooo cute, and I just want to squeeze your cheeks! :P Thanks for your awesome tutorials!
It doesn't show your latest uploads on your channel anymore; I didn't receive the notification and only found this link in your Facebook. Lovely recipe!
+Tina M Check to see if you are still subscribed. UA-cam has been randomly unsubscribing people for apparently no reason. The Subscription Feed has also been buggy recently. I recommend following me on social media to make sure you don't miss any videos ;)
Dear Sir I am making this tonight. I have thin pork chops and not the best cut of meat. Is there any adjustments that I need to make for this recipe? Thx
The bone is the fun part though. :P That looks good. I may have to dig out my slow cookers now. I have 2 so I can make twice as much. I was really glad I had two when I was pregnant as I craved mostly beef stew the entire time. :P - Heidi
looks yummy. can you use parsnips or turnips or rutabaga (sic) instead? Oh, and maybe.cream of mushroom or cream of broccoli instead? What do you think?
OnePotChefShow I dd it in my crock pot. I used the parsnips, the rutabaga and the turnips.* NOTE ; The turnips cook faster so add the last hour of cooking* .I used cream of broccoli soup. I mixed it up with 1/2 cup salt free chicken stock and i/2 cup fat free milk. I also used grated onion and garlic. ( my daughter is not fond of onions,) I tasted it and it needed a kick. I added some Frank's hot sauce. Just a few dashes. It kicked it up a notch. I cannot wait to try this with beef and chicken and other variations. Thank you for posting your videos. You make terrific recipes. Praying for your health and you always. Looking forward to more great eats. Ciao.
My chops and ingredients are in the slow cooker now (no soup, just some whole grain mustard, stock cube and red lentils) - I remember when I had my old slow cooker years ago, vegetables (especially root vegetables) were to be placed in the pot first - in fact I’ve just read that in my manual! Is that not the case now? Thanks
+Kimberly Schatz Kimberly Schatz would you kindly explain slow cooker methods and techniques of roasting pork chops with vegatables in a simple receipe like this ONE POT CHEF i always end up with alot of watery grease in bottom of my slow cooker pot . hi is the soup used in this a can of condenced soup or can I use heinz soup?
+Michelle McDonald It doesn't matter if the soup is condensed or not, as it's only being used as a flavour base (not for soup) ;)
love you!!!!
I think I'm going to make this this weekend while my son is staying the night at his friends
