From DUS (Düsseldorf airport), you can also travel by train and bus for around 23.7 €. Around 1 h (little less) by train to Brühl railway station (RE5, 21.20 €) and there is the shuttle bus at the railway station for 5 € (ticket is for both trips, to and later back, 20 min). From Cologne/Bonn airport, it is around 50 min by different systems (you will have to change one or two times) mixed by bus, train e.g. different possibilities, all around the same time, + 20 min for the Phantasialand shuttle bus. 10€ for the travel to Brühl + 5 € for the shuttle bus.
We stayed at Hotel Matamba a few years back and the park entrance we were told to use was the one in Hotel Ling Bao - they're right next to each other so it wasn't much of a detour. Lovely hotel, great food in the restaurant there too.
Stayed in hotel matamba . Really good with a great buffet and they have a new dedicated park entrance now. It's definitely worth spending a little extra on the rooms with park views.
A brilliant video as always mate 😁👍. I’m sure these tips will be very helpful and useful when I plan to go to Phantasialand 😊. It looks brilliant, and thank you very much for doing 3 vlogs/videos while you were out there, It’s class commitment even when your trying to take it all in for yourself aswell 😊😁👍. Fantastic stuff bud, keep it up as always mate 👏
@ Okay mate thank you, that would be awesome 😊👍. Don’t rush yourself though bud 👍👍 . I understand it comes out when it comes out 😊😁. Was just wondering if there was a chance of a cheeky early preview 😂👍😊😁
It's a place on my list. Need to have a look how to get there seems a bit of a mission from UK. We did do Europa park last year by plane then trains and that did take some doing. Looks like you drive?
Another enjoyable video Chris, whe nou were walking around you sounded out of breathe or was that due to the cold weather or a bit of both?? lol Did you go and do-Pirates 4D as well, or do that on your last day or are you already back???
@@mikekaraoke I'll be honest the 4D attractions don't normally appeal. If I have time I'll do them, but my recent visit was pretty busy and there were other rides I wanted to do more 😀
@@coaster_dad Ah don't normally appeal how comes??? What ones have you found thta were alright then?? I do enjoy Fabula, that you know it is at Efteling, + sure you know that the same 4D attraction is also at some of these places like in UK like-Wookey Hole Resort etc called: The Bear and the Squirrel 4D! + Museum of Science-Boston, San Diego Zoo, Sealife-Bangkok etc BTW when you starting that Wimpy challenge 😎
Emily's Chocolate Shop nr fly is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Went there on tuesday and it was awesome. Try to avoid the weekends and holidays in Germany, BeNeLux & France too 😉

Yeah I’ve not stayed in the hotel but I’ve had the buffet in there 😀
I stayed in Matamba in 2023 and there was a park entrance right outside the hotel. Just to the left of the wooden bridge outside the bar area.
@ Handy to know, maybe it was closed for some reason when we went.
Lots of great tips there. I liked the currency one, pay local, it makes more sense. These Hint and Tips videos really are helpful, many thanks.
You’re welcome 😀

It’s the only hotel I’ve not tried but I suspect all three are great. There’s very little about the park that isn’t great 😀
Another fantastic video mate! 😀
Thanks bud

I flew to Düsseldorf and hired a car
I want to do europa park but it looks a pain in the arse!!!! ( to get to)
@@royalrecordings4307 I'm going in November. Flying Edinburgh to Stansted, then Stansted to Baden-Baden and hiring a car
@coaster_dad unfortunately we don't drive abroad. Manchester airport is best for us. It's on the list but might have to wait for now !!

Ha a little bit of both 😂. I’m back now and haven’t done the 4D 🙈

You are kidding me, the times you have been to Phantasialand and never done Pirates 4D why??? 😲🦜🏴☠

Genuine question, what’s the language barrier like there? Is there many English speaking staff?
That’s a good question. On my recent visit I had no issues at all. But on a previous visit I found they either spoke great English or none.
Did you see the mega waffle machine?
I did not 🤔
