I ask myself every time I listen to them...how are they not more popular, my answer every time is because they actually deserve it. And that is not how this world works.
Sounds like traditional Larry Arms, simple, effective, melodic and gives off the emotive feeling of lonely beers in a crappy apartment. Their music is more musical poetry than almost any band I know.
Nice to see the good dudes at Hear Nebraska increasing their footprint. This song is a great start to the new album. We only had to wait 8 years for it.
I've known about the Lawrence Arms for a while and had a couple of their albums. Bought a couple heard some, but holy shit..........I love this album. probably my favorite album of that year or most years. I just bought a Lawrence Arms shirt off interpunk and the new Adolescents album.
this may just be me but i like it better mixed this way. I wasn't a huge Oh Calcutta fan (compared to their earlier releases) and i think it's cause the vocals were too on top of each other. But honestly i'm not going to be too picky, it's a new Lawrence Arms record for fucks sake. is it January yet?!?!
Alyn Naslund Oh! Calcutta! is handily my favorite album of all time. But, nah I'm with you I'm so ready for this new record. Wishing the back up vocals were mixed differently is a very minute complaint.
Come on! this song sounds amazing! hear the drums, bass and guitar, maybe a bit too polished for TLA, anyways the album is going to be great for sure. For those who said that they have sold out just be happy that they are back, If they wanted to be a mainstream band they would have started doing poppy songs years ago, just like A3 did.
