"I, Pessimist" by Alkaline Trio featuring Tim McIlrath, from the new album 'My Shame Is True,' out now! Order at www.epitaphstor... Facebook - / alkalinetrio Twitter - / alkaline_trio
It makes a good collaboration between two great bands from a great town. Nothing less nothing more. Its a damn good collaboration too. Dan and Tims voices compliment each other perfectly. Its exactly what you think they'd sound like if they put out a song...
This is the very first Alkaline Trio song I remember ever hearing. I've been hooked ever since. Also: this song is way too good to only be 2 minutes long.
Remains is a compilation of B sides from all their albums, so I think it gives the best overview of the band... It also has some of their best songs on it, songs that weren't made to 'fit an album.' That's where I started! :)
The Revival Tour doesn't do any studio recordings that I know of. You'd have to catch them playing live if they come near you. They have done a US tour and have had a European leg as well. If you can't see them live. Check their website, or Itunes, they put out an album featuring all the artists. I only know of one of these albums though. Came out very recently from the 2012 tour. Chuck Ragan also has a vinyl and digital download for the European tour a few years back with Sam Russo and others.
Oh and if you're a fan of Tim Mcilrath, especially his acoustic stuff, look into the Revival Tour. A huge collaboration of acoust...ique? - folk music... Started by Chuck Ragan, Dan Andriano was in it for two years, Dave Hause, Brian Fallon, Joe Ginsberg, Jon Gaunt, Cory Branan, Tim Barry, Rocky Votolato, Jenny Owen Youngs, Tom Gabel (Now Laura Jane Grace) So many other amazing musicians... Sorry for wasting your time with these messages... I enjoy rambling on about music :-)
When I saw this was out, I got excited since I love both bands....then I saw all the arguments over if they're still any good or not...I love all their stuff, listen to the changes in sound and style, but it's still very enjoyable. Especially this song.
500, or Repulsive minds would be more your speed, but I can relate. The bumping side of Trio is what keeps me coming back for more, and it's lacking in some of their (Braincoats) songs.
Give thanks to the way you know 'Cause I'm working for eternal blackout The sun used to be one of my favorite drugs Looks like that one's gonna kill us all Disappear, disappear I don't need this body It's so clear, way too clear I'm not hear with my mind I'm running on a great big tank again But how long til I crash? And then this back's gonna burst again Bring my down on my bare knees Disappear, disappear I don't need this body It's so clear, way too clear I'm not hear with my mind Disappear, disappear I don't need this body It's so clear, way too clear I'm not hear with my mind And they say my soul is still alive In the eyes of God Maybe living is not enough for me And they say my soul is still alive In the eyes of God Maybe living is not enough for me Disappear, disappear I don't need this body It's so clear, way too clear I'm not hear with my mind Disappear, disappear I don't need this body It's so clear, way too clear I'm not hear with my mind
Wowzers. 'From here to Infirmary' is a must, 'Goddamnit' is excellent too, although its very raw and has a lower production quality. 'Good Mourning' and 'This Addiction' are both good good listens with some gems hidden amongst them. I personally think 'Agony and Irony' and 'Maybe I'll catch fire' are the worst - but again, there are some brilliant songs hidden in them both, especially 'Maybe I'll catch fire'. 'Remains' is a mixture of B-sides and other bits and bobs, but is a good listen too.
alkaline trio + rise against = mind blown
Tim mcilrath and alkaline trio - BEST SONG EVER
Rise Against The Trio
Both Dan and Matt have their own style, I don't think one is better than the other. I love their mixture
Great combination
tim is a legend
If they made an entire album with Tim doing vocals, I'd be fine with that.
Kill me that second

Words cannot describe the intensity of the hardon this track gives me.

I love Chicago punk bands
The best of Chicago in one song, amazing
Alkaline Trio, (Both Dan and Matt) hasn't once made a song that I didn't love! Can't wait for this album to come out!
thanks for saying that about the only reason i consider this song the song of the year
This is the very first Alkaline Trio song I remember ever hearing. I've been hooked ever since.
Also: this song is way too good to only be 2 minutes long.

it's awesome that Alkaline returned the favor and invited Tim to do guest vocals!
just checked out this album for the first time and didn't know Tim featured on it… Lost my shit!
I'm digging this.
Alk Trio and Rise are my favorite bands for sure
This song will make the album worth it.
I can't stop listening to these fucking tracks.
All my dreams have come true in this singular song. Mind is blown.

This is just great
Thank you, Good Mourning is seriously underrated.
That would be awesome!
I never knew it was the frontman from rise against. They are one of my fav bands!!
I came here to see if it was! It sounded so much like him lol
Brilliant.
great song
so much energy... every time i hear it.
Both of these bands are why I write punk rock
Just one of the best bangers in a long like of ALK3 bangers. Add Tim and this is easily one of my favorite Trio songs.
Back in the day I used to like Matt's songs better; now? Dan Andriano kills it with every tune.
It makes me glad that there are some sensible Alkaline Trio fans.
Perfect!

This album is great. One of their best in my opinion.
OMG i didn't know that Tim was here until i listened to this song, AWESOME, my 2 favorite post-punk bands
This is AMAZING. So so so good!
500, or Repulsive minds would be more your speed, but I can relate. The bumping side of Trio is what keeps me coming back for more, and it's lacking in some of their (Braincoats) songs.
Omg. I love this. Tim is awesome.
I never knew he had one! Thanks for the info, I'll check it out.

I'm not hear with my mind
Disappear, disappear

In the eyes of God
Maybe living is not enough for me
And they say my soul is still alive
In the eyes of God
Maybe living is not enough for me
Disappear, disappear
I don't need this body
It's so clear, way too clear
I'm not hear with my mind
Disappear, disappear
I don't need this body
It's so clear, way too clear
I'm not hear with my mind

alkaline trio rocks and everything each one of these guys does whether it's together or solo is pretty rad :D

I don't know if it is better than This Addiction. I said it is one of their best, not THE best.
Dam i wish this song was longer so that i can continue hear this amazing song!!
can't say i massively like any of the stuff i've heard off the new album except this. this is awesome.
