I agree with you, Mike. This situation is definitely just a personal moral decision. Whether it’s your live in girlfriend or your wife, I would believe there would be some kind of heartwarming generosity and consideration to help out the family. Even if there’s no legal obligation 🐸🙌
There are three things that come to mind 1) Are we 'helping' by 'giving,' or enabling? 2) Is there any kind of reciprocity, should we also be in need (so we might give without resenting it later)? 3) Did we disparage the poor in our home country, or was our attitude kindly to them as well (which would border on hypocrisy)? If we're honest with ourselves, we're giving, mainly, to keep our younger gf/spouse happy, and for the conjugal rewards that go along with that.
As a single (divorced) man, the only law that concerns me is rape. All that needs to happen is for a pissed off girl to point her finger at you, and you ARE going straight to a Philippine jail. No bail. May not even get to see a judge for several years. Do you need meds? Too bad, unless you have someone on the outside bringing them for you, you don't get them. You will almost certainly be offered an extortion offer for her to "settle" and drop charges. Refuse to pay up, and as a retirement age man, there is a very real possibility that you will die in a Philippine jail/prison. This has happened many times that I've seen over the years.

We find out later about their true character. If true, the best we can do is not show all our cards, and have an 'escape plan' should things go south.
In 2007, I took my two boys to a mall in/around Makati. They were 11 and 9 I think. People saw a tall white guy with two Fil-Am kids with dark skin. Shortly I was approached and stopped by a police officer. He had 3 other officers a short distance away within sight. He questioned my about being with the boys. When the boys and I identified our father/son relationship, he was not satisfied. Luckily I happened to have both mine and the boy's passports on my person to prove it. The officer even told me without that proof, he would have taken me into custody (arrested). This can happen, although I think it's very rare. It was clear to me this particular officer did not like foreigners by the way he spoke to me, but honestly he was very professional about the encounter. Bottom line, don't do anything wrong and you pretty much have nothing to fear. Out and about in multiple locations over the years, I have always felt much safer in the Philippines than in any city in the US.
This is a Civil Statute not Criminal. It would take 7-10 years to go through the court system. The Barangay can only conduct a mediation and it is not binding. This is basically non-enforceable.
Listen, it's on a case by case basis, I lived in Ph for 6 years and my ex had many siblings and before I knew it, there was always someone in her family who needed financial help from helping to pay off for a motorbike that they couldn't afford as it was being repossessed, to giving giving a distant cousin pocket money to go to college, and many other "loans" actually I got fed up because I came to Ph thinking that I would get peace and quiet (the dogs and roosters didn't bother me) but it was just the opposite, I just got fed up and left, and since then I travelled around a bit and now I feel "free" from the burden of my ex's family. Should the expat support his girlfriend/wife's family? To each his own, It's Filipino culture to support the parents but that's good for Filipinos not for some expats.
I helped out my dad for several years before he died. I've helped out my 80 year old mom and even younger brother for over 30 years. Anyone who would turn their back on family if they can afford to help makes no sense to me. How can you expect your girl to be any different?

If you pay the black mailer he will keep coming back. Paying for a broken window is totally different from paying a black mailer. If the window cost $200 to fix and the store owner is asking for $500 than that is blackmail.
My Filippina's Family are Farmers and her Mom's getting old. To get around all of this we purchased some Land for the Family to farm adding 25% more land to the Family. It's Our Land, but they can farm it and take 100% of all of the profits.
Important disticntion, if the Filipina is your girlfriend then you are not resposnible for her family. But if you marry her, then the local government views 50% of your income as hers as your spouse. So they can legally pressure her to take care of her family with your money. The Filipina Pea just did a great video on this with a lawyer. I would urge everyone to listen very carefully to what the lawyer says. Also, be careful about your girlfriend geting pregnant since that can come with not only child support concerns but also implied ‘spousal’ support if you were living together since they view that as ‘living together as if married’.
Second Post, A way to protect everything is incorporate, So you only own into it. Many Wealthy do it, You may own 45% I believe, Pick the good members and wife for the rest, Then your wishes may be granted after You and wife gone, Thats so far what i have found best option. An attorney there was on the Filipina Pea's channel and explained the law you're referring to. There is a law, and that law works both ways, the parents are equally responsible to support their children as the children are to support them. There is a cultural thing involved too, called "Utang na loob", the parents tell their children "you owe us everything".
Yes I know the meaning and it is the way Filipino Families have taken care of each other for a very long time. No need for expats to think there is jail time is you do not help
you're right, Mike. Legally, there's none. It's a cultural practice that often abused by the receiving end. If you extra to give or to help, I suggest to give in kind. For instance if you can only afford to give a certain amount equal to, for example paying for a past due electric bill, then pay the electric company directly for them. There are some who, if you give cash, they'll spend it for drinking or take it to a cockfight to bet. Lol! Believe me, I know because I am a Filipino but now living in the U.S. as a citizen. Hi Mike. Thank you. Pea's video was with her attorney friend. Family support is the law in the Philippines. The recommendations from the video was to get a prenup declaring the expats participation in family expenses.
Well, as Mike said, the law regarding the family support is enforced upon all of just the immediate family members, BUT it is only enforced if the person needing that support can be either mentally ill and is just freely wandering the streets, or maybe that family member is helpless, like someone who is paralyzed or someone who is physically disabled or incapacitated that nobody wants to hire him for a job, and so, he is living in the streets.

Hi Mike, I just returned from Cebu where I became engaged to a wonderful woman that I met several months ago on Christian Filipina. She has a 10 yo daughter and I am proud and thankful to have both of them in my life. While I was there, there were several times that I was alone with the girl in public. Usually in one of the malls while her mother was shopping in another store or getting her hair/nails done. I was aware of the law about being alone with a minor, and while I didn't worry about it excessively I was aware of the people around us. I will say that even though no one ever approached us, I did notice people paying close attention to the two of us together and even a few dirty looks. I suppose I should get used to negative disapproving looks even when they get here to the US where we plan to live. My understanding is that the law relates to the assets that you have in the Philippines (property etc) , rather than any assets that you have back in your home country. Of course that would change if you were also married to your Filippina back in your home country!
What happens if your Filipina GF/wife isn’t working or has no money? The pressure is on the foreigner to help out. What if her siblings are broke or make little money? As you suggested, you need to be aware of their situation. Personally, I wouldn’t get involved in a potentially bad situation. I don’t need the stress at my age.
I remember when i travelled from Iowa by way of amtrack to los Angeles california to meet my fiance when she first arrived in the states. She had a brother in Riverside california we stayed at a few days. Before we left he spoketo me and said that the kids here in the USA, now three including my fiance gave their mom and dad a $100 each a month for support. Even though we wernt married yet and I did after all take the oldest and last daughter from them who took care of them, i agreed to send support to them even befor my fiance was employed. Now we have a little home we had built over their that her mother stays in and my wifes brother is basically the caretaker of the house and my mother inlaw. We now send $200 a month to pay bills and buy food as the house is completed except for cetral air which we will have installed before we return to stay there 6 months out of the year.

I wouldn't worry about getting sued for support. Most families can't afford to hire an attorney. If they can, they have no need. Help out if you can. A little kindness goes a long way here.
Like you said the law may not pertain to a foreigner but in your situation, if Janet was made to help support her family, you being an upstanding man would assume the burden that Janet might not be able to handle. So in this situation it would then become a foreigner's issue. Me, I can't believe any of us would allow our inlaws to be starving or homeless.

This is what i see and it has nothing to do with expat! Article 195 of the philippine code list the order of family responsibility. It starts with the parents being responsible for the kids when the parents get older the kids are responsible for them. Without getting and reading that code i don't know if it is enforceable or only enforceable in like a divorce cord or something. Hope this help some
I think it is about a parent or child with nothing no money no job no place to live the family must try to step in and help. As there is no welfare system here like in the US
the laws cannot force a foreigner to take care of the filipinas family, BUT, the filipina normally will be the force in the relationship to push for assistance but asking and making life difficult. It is cultural, and most not all most filipinas have a loyalty tie to their family that is greater than their foreigner partner. Trust me, 12 years living here in the PI, and brgy cpt, the entire process is a zoo and most doesn’t even know the proper way to deal with a brgy summons. DILG circular covers (in english) how the brgy process is supposed to work. the more you learn how it is supposed to work the more frustrated you will become.
Do yourself a favor and watch the Filipina Pea video. She actually had an attorney who knows the law explain it rather than a foreigner who only knows what he signed with his immigration papers. Imagine a foreigner in the United States saying none of the immigration papers I signed said I couldn’t commit wire fraud. No one ever mentioned that to me. Everything indispensable for sustenance includes dwelling, clothing, medical attendance, education, and transportation. If they have reasonable needs, and the Filipina has the means to provide, then the law is applicable. It doesn’t say only if they are destitute. The family member just needs to bring a case under article 195.
Mike, I think this is your best vid yet. I agree 100%. The Barangay Capt. knows or will find out what is going with a family that is not taking care of an member especially and elder. The community will expect the Filipinos to take care of their family first - a western spouse of a daughter won't be involved. Before a western man marries into a Filipino family he should find out if his girlfriend's sibling are working and taking care of their own families. Or if they are younger they may need support to get into college. That will give an idea how much family pressure will be exerted onto the girlfriend/wife later. Does the Filipina have enough backbone to hold her family inline and distinguish between want and need? I saw some westerners panicking on Pea's channel about these laws and I thought permanently relocating to another country is not for the timid. So those terrified folks should just stay where they are.
I think some people need to go back to school and work on their listening comprehension skills. What was said in the video is the family can sue their DAUGHTER, NOT the foreigner. If she is MARRIED to a foreigner and the family sues her and SHE has to pay the family, then the amount she is "worth" is determined by a judge both on her AND the foreigners assets, which in most cases would make her "worth" more and have to pay more than SHE can actually afford to, IF there was no pre-nup. NO, the foreigner is NOT ordered to pay the family, ONLY the Filipina is, but because the judgement would be more than she can pay, the foreigner would end up paying, not because he is ordered to, but because he wants to help his wife. She can also be sued by biological/half brothers and sisters for EDUCATION ONLY. Her extended family (Grandma/grandpa/aunts/uncles/nieces/nephews) can NOT sue her for support.

It was also said that it is an old law that most don't even know it exists.
I give my Fiancé 58000 pesos ($1031 USD) per month. It is one of my pensions. I tell her it is hers to do what she wants with (help her family if that is what she wants) but I won’t be spending any of my money for her family. I pay our living expenses from savings and Social Security . This way there is a set upper limit of spending on relatives (58000 pesos)and if her relatives ask me for money I direct them to my Filipina. It then becomes her responsibility or guilt.
Ypi are wrong about the law with minor in the care of a foreigner.. The last President was so peoud of this law that says no filipino citizen is allowed to leave a child under the age of 12 in the care custody or control of a foreigner even in child care faility the parent can be charged with this offence and the foreigner can be shown the door out of the Phils or if there is a crime then Jail time first... Yeah, thank you Mike. I watched the Filipina Pea video about that and it definitely became a concern and put a seed of reluctance in my head. On the flip side, doesn’t that encourage a girl to want to be with a foreigner boyfriend if her family is “dirt” poor?

Be sure ;-) Your bank account (in your home country) should have always enouh funds to let you relocate back to your country. Many old foreigners are so badly extorted by GF & her families, that they can't even afford to buy ticket to fly home. I was lived in PH for 6 years and know what I talking about.

When I was still married to my Filipina wife, I often took our nieces and nephews (who were all minors at the time) for a swim or an ice cream. I never had a problem. The only way you are going to have a problem is if their parents report you for "obducting" their child. If you have a normal relationship with your in-laws and they know they can trust you with their children, this is never going to happen.

For section 194 to be enforced there first has to be a declaration of indigency by the family member in question. This is something that the Pea, Lawyer or you havent mentioned. There are strict tests to declare indigence, its not so straight forward.

But in Phils an education is considered to be essential...SO.....the brothers & sisters are the filipinas responsibility. If you marry a filipina and she owns the property SHE WILL USE YOUR MONEY because the property is an asset.
The law that Pea brought up is not a criminal law. So no, the police won't come for you. But it is a civil law and that means that a close family member could sue your filipina for the financial help in question.
The financial responsibility law in the Philippines does require the a husband support is filipina spouse even if there is a breakup and separation. It;s similar to alimony or child support.

The Filipino is responsible but not the expat sort of ! The value of the Filipino increases because of the Expat's wealth so they may ask for more support from the Filipino . A prenup gives extra protection for the Expat , No PRENUP ? Just make one up and Pre -date it and have the Filipino sign it .

I don't know where you're at but that's all you have to do if you have a grand total of 500 pesos a day. That's $10 us and that's an average wage in the negros occidental peninsula. They might play nickel card games. People have taken advantage of their low wages and stuff to create corporate greed it's the call center capital of asia philippines they pay their people nothing to answer phone calls. Hi Mike i tried to explain prior an i felt you may of not understand the point that brought to you. This is a fyi for you and your audience. Myself and a few other expats had issues with our SSA 7162 form. Yes we know the recipe is problematic but my concern is what i uncovered by calling SSA 1 800 number… i mailed this form twice by four different methods because of an issue similar last year This TIME i call and was told they have received my submital sept 13 2023 for the 2024 dead line febuary cut off I was still suspended . I sine found out that there Processing unit neglied there duty ..this is the same group that would receive your form at the embassy for them to forward and possibly falling into a black hole in this situation where your payment has already been delayed
Are you kidding me? Six brothers and six sisters, and everybody will pay their share? Not a chance. They will expect the Filipina who is married to a foreigner to pay it all. Or maybe a sibling who is overseas can pay (again all of it). May not be a law, but it is definitely a family expectation. Mike, you are better than most, but the problem with western expat UA-camrs is they don't often disclose the negatives. It's a real disservice to the viewers.
After 20 years there I can tell you that there are plenty of old people who have children that have nothing to do with them. They will let them live in squalor and poverty they simply do not care period sometimes it because that maybe the parents treated them partially when they were young and so they think they will get back at them by not giving them any of their success. I myself took care of my wife's mother and father and even all of her brothers and sisters for a while. Right now though I don't have the money to do it but when I do get it of course I will still help them because I'm a nice human being. Whereas I've seen plenty of Filipinos just they don't do anything for their brothers sisters or your parents. one of my biggest mistakes was helping everybody who came and asked for help any loan always turns into a giveaway you will never see that money again... and if by chance you need help they will not be there to help you CHISMUS then the nasty chismis begins that's OK though when people show the....rs then you can leave them far behind .. .

In 2007, I took my two boys to a mall in/around Makati. They were 11 and 9 I think. People saw a tall white guy with two Fil-Am kids with dark skin. Shortly I was approached and stopped by a police officer. He had 3 other officers a short distance away within sight.
He questioned my about being with the boys. When the boys and I identified our father/son relationship, he was not satisfied. Luckily I happened to have both mine and the boy's passports on my person to prove it.
The officer even told me without that proof, he would have taken me into custody (arrested).
This can happen, although I think it's very rare. It was clear to me this particular officer did not like foreigners by the way he spoke to me, but honestly he was very professional about the encounter.
Bottom line, don't do anything wrong and you pretty much have nothing to fear. Out and about in multiple locations over the years, I have always felt much safer in the Philippines than in any city in the US.

This is a Civil Statute not Criminal. It would take 7-10 years to go through the court system. The Barangay can only conduct a mediation and it is not binding. This is basically non-enforceable.

Listen, it's on a case by case basis, I lived in Ph for 6 years and my ex had many siblings and before I knew it, there was always someone in her family who needed financial help from helping to pay off for a motorbike that they couldn't afford as it was being repossessed, to giving giving a distant cousin pocket money to go to college, and many other "loans" actually I got fed up because I came to Ph thinking that I would get peace and quiet (the dogs and roosters didn't bother me) but it was just the opposite, I just got fed up and left, and since then I travelled around a bit and now I feel "free" from the burden of my ex's family. Should the expat support his girlfriend/wife's family? To each his own, It's Filipino culture to support the parents but that's good for Filipinos not for some expats.

I helped out my dad for several years before he died. I've helped out my 80 year old mom and even younger brother for over 30 years. Anyone who would turn their back on family if they can afford to help makes no sense to me. How can you expect your girl to be any different?

To get around all of this we purchased some Land for the Family to farm adding 25% more land to the Family.

Important disticntion, if the Filipina is your girlfriend then you are not resposnible for her family. But if you marry her, then the local government views 50% of your income as hers as your spouse. So they can legally pressure her to take care of her family with your money. The Filipina Pea just did a great video on this with a lawyer. I would urge everyone to listen very carefully to what the lawyer says.
Also, be careful about your girlfriend geting pregnant since that can come with not only child support concerns but also implied ‘spousal’ support if you were living together since they view that as ‘living together as if married’.

An attorney there was on the Filipina Pea's channel and explained the law you're referring to. There is a law, and that law works both ways, the parents are equally responsible to support their children as the children are to support them. There is a cultural thing involved too, called "Utang na loob", the parents tell their children "you owe us everything".

you're right, Mike. Legally, there's none. It's a cultural practice that often abused by the receiving end. If you extra to give or to help, I suggest to give in kind. For instance if you can only afford to give a certain amount equal to, for example paying for a past due electric bill, then pay the electric company directly for them. There are some who, if you give cash, they'll spend it for drinking or take it to a cockfight to bet. Lol! Believe me, I know because I am a Filipino but now living in the U.S. as a citizen. Well, as Mike said, the law regarding the family support is enforced upon all of just the immediate family members, BUT it is only enforced if the person needing that support can be either mentally ill and is just freely wandering the streets, or maybe that family member is helpless, like someone who is paralyzed or someone who is physically disabled or incapacitated that nobody wants to hire him for a job, and so, he is living in the streets.

Hi Mike, I just returned from Cebu where I became engaged to a wonderful woman that I met several months ago on Christian Filipina. She has a 10 yo daughter and I am proud and thankful to have both of them in my life. While I was there, there were several times that I was alone with the girl in public. Usually in one of the malls while her mother was shopping in another store or getting her hair/nails done. I was aware of the law about being alone with a minor, and while I didn't worry about it excessively I was aware of the people around us. I will say that even though no one ever approached us, I did notice people paying close attention to the two of us together and even a few dirty looks.
I suppose I should get used to negative disapproving looks even when they get here to the US where we plan to live. I am many years older than my fiancé and age gap discrimination is common in many places.

My understanding is that the law relates to the assets that you have in the Philippines (property etc) , rather than any assets that you have back in your home country. Of course that would change if you were also married to your Filippina back in your home country!

What happens if your Filipina GF/wife isn’t working or has no money? The pressure is on the foreigner to help out. What if her siblings are broke or make little money? As you suggested, you need to be aware of their situation. Personally, I wouldn’t get involved in a potentially bad situation. I don’t need the stress at my age.

I remember when i travelled from Iowa by way of amtrack to los Angeles california to meet my fiance when she first arrived in the states. She had a brother in Riverside california we stayed at a few days. Before we left he spoketo me and said that the kids here in the USA, now three including my fiance gave their mom and dad a $100 each a month for support. Even though we wernt married yet and I did after all take the oldest and last daughter from them who took care of them, i agreed to send support to them even befor my fiance was employed. Now we have a little home we had built over their that her mother stays in and my wifes brother is basically the caretaker of the house and my mother inlaw. We now send $200 a month to pay bills and buy food as the house is completed except for cetral air which we will have installed before we return to stay there 6 months out of the year.
$200 USD is a very fair amount and if your both working in the states it won't kill the budget

I wouldn't worry about getting sued for support. Most families can't afford to hire an attorney. If they can, they have no need. Help out if you can. A little kindness goes a long way here.

This is what i see and it has nothing to do with expat! Article 195 of the philippine code list the order of family responsibility. It starts with the parents being responsible for the kids when the parents get older the kids are responsible for them. Without getting and reading that code i don't know if it is enforceable or only enforceable in like a divorce cord or something. Hope this help some
I think it is about a parent or child with nothing no money no job no place to live the family must try to step in and help. As there is no welfare system here like in the US
the laws cannot force a foreigner to take care of the filipinas family, BUT, the filipina normally will be the force in the relationship to push for assistance but asking and making life difficult. It is cultural, and most not all most filipinas have a loyalty tie to their family that is greater than their foreigner partner. Trust me, 12 years living here in the PI, and brgy cpt, the entire process is a zoo and most doesn’t even know the proper way to deal with a brgy summons. DILG circular covers (in english) how the brgy process is supposed to work. the more you learn how it is supposed to work the more frustrated you will become.

Do yourself a favor and watch the Filipina Pea video. She actually had an attorney who knows the law explain it rather than a foreigner who only knows what he signed with his immigration papers. Imagine a foreigner in the United States saying none of the immigration papers I signed said I couldn’t commit wire fraud. No one ever mentioned that to me.
Everything indispensable for sustenance includes dwelling, clothing, medical attendance, education, and transportation. If they have reasonable needs, and the Filipina has the means to provide, then the law is applicable. It doesn’t say only if they are destitute. The family member just needs to bring a case under article 195.
I did watch the video after I posted this video.
FYI: the eldest sibling usually has more responsibility. If you marry the eldest sibling count on her/him helping/scolding the younger siblings.

Mike, I think this is your best vid yet. I agree 100%. The Barangay Capt. knows or will find out what is going with a family that is not taking care of an member especially and elder. The community will expect the Filipinos to take care of their family first - a western spouse of a daughter won't be involved.
Before a western man marries into a Filipino family he should find out if his girlfriend's sibling are working and taking care of their own families. Or if they are younger they may need support to get into college. That will give an idea how much family pressure will be exerted onto the girlfriend/wife later. Does the Filipina have enough backbone to hold her family inline and distinguish between want and need?
I saw some westerners panicking on Pea's channel about these laws and I thought permanently relocating to another country is not for the timid. So those terrified folks should just stay where they are.

I think some people need to go back to school and work on their listening comprehension skills. What was said in the video is the family can sue their DAUGHTER, NOT the foreigner. If she is MARRIED to a foreigner and the family sues her and SHE has to pay the family, then the amount she is "worth" is determined by a judge both on her AND the foreigners assets, which in most cases would make her "worth" more and have to pay more than SHE can actually afford to, IF there was no pre-nup. NO, the foreigner is NOT ordered to pay the family, ONLY the Filipina is, but because the judgement would be more than she can pay, the foreigner would end up paying, not because he is ordered to, but because he wants to help his wife. She can also be sued by biological/half brothers and sisters for EDUCATION ONLY. Her extended family (Grandma/grandpa/aunts/uncles/nieces/nephews) can NOT sue her for support.

I give my Fiancé 58000 pesos ($1031 USD) per month. It is one of my pensions. I tell her it is hers to do what she wants with (help her family if that is what she wants) but I won’t be spending any of my money for her family. I pay our living expenses from savings and Social Security . This way there is a set upper limit of spending on relatives (58000 pesos)and if her relatives ask me for money I direct them to my Filipina. It then becomes her responsibility or guilt.

The last President was so peoud of this law that says no filipino citizen is allowed to leave a child under the age of 12 in the care custody or control of a foreigner even in child care faility the parent can be charged with this offence and the foreigner can be shown the door out of the Phils or if there is a crime then Jail time first... Be sure ;-) Your bank account (in your home country) should have always enouh funds to let you relocate back to your country. When I was still married to my Filipina wife, I often took our nieces and nephews (who were all minors at the time) for a swim or an ice cream. I never had a problem. The only way you are going to have a problem is if their parents report you for "obducting" their child. If you have a normal relationship with your in-laws and they know they can trust you with their children, this is never going to happen.

For section 194 to be enforced there first has to be a declaration of indigency by the family member in question. This is something that the Pea, Lawyer or you havent mentioned. There are strict tests to declare indigence, its not so straight forward.

But it is a civil law and that means that a close family member could sue your filipina for the financial help in question.
The financial responsibility law in the Philippines does require the a husband support is filipina spouse even if there is a breakup and separation. It;s similar to alimony or child support.
From my understanding this requirement is only for basic needs. Extravagant wants and desires are not included.

The Filipino is responsible but not the expat sort of ! The value of the Filipino increases because of the Expat's wealth so they may ask for more support from the Filipino . A prenup gives extra protection for the Expat , No PRENUP ? Just make one up and Pre -date it and have the Filipino sign it .

I don't know where you're at but that's all you have to do if you have a grand total of 500 pesos a day. That's $10 us and that's an average wage in the negros occidental peninsula. They might play nickel card games. People have taken advantage of their low wages and stuff to create corporate greed it's the call center capital of asia philippines they pay their people nothing to answer phone calls. Sorry but i'm an american that cares for these people that i'm living with their letting me stay here!

Hi Mike i tried to explain prior an i felt you may of not understand the point that brought to you. This is a fyi for you and your audience. Myself and a few other expats had issues with our SSA 7162 form. Yes we know the recipe is problematic but my concern is what i uncovered by calling SSA 1 800 number… i mailed this form twice by four different methods because of an issue similar last year This TIME i call and was told they have received my submital sept 13 2023 for the 2024 dead line febuary cut off I was still suspended . I sine found out that there Processing unit neglied there duty ..this is the same group that would receive your form at the embassy for them to forward and possibly falling into a black hole in this situation where your payment has already been delayed

Are you kidding me? Six brothers and six sisters, and everybody will pay their share? Not a chance. They will expect the Filipina who is married to a foreigner to pay it all. Or maybe a sibling who is overseas can pay (again all of it). May not be a law, but it is definitely a family expectation. Mike, you are better than most, but the problem with western expat UA-camrs is they don't often disclose the negatives. It's a real disservice to the viewers.
After 20 years there I can tell you that there are plenty of old people who have children that have nothing to do with them. They will let them live in squalor and poverty they simply do not care period sometimes it because that maybe the parents treated them partially when they were young and so they think they will get back at them by not giving them any of their success. I myself took care of my wife's mother and father and even all of her brothers and sisters for a while. Right now though I don't have the money to do it but when I do get it of course I will still help them because I'm a nice human being. Whereas I've seen plenty of Filipinos just they don't do anything for their brothers sisters or your parents. one of my biggest mistakes was helping everybody who came and asked for help any loan always turns into a giveaway you will never see that money again... and if by chance you need help they will not be there to help you CHISMUS then the nasty chismis begins that's OK though when people show the....rs then you can leave them far behind .. .

It can open a can of worms if get married or become common law marriage,if that law becomes known and woman's parent may get serious health condition needling expensive treatment in near future and hooks up with you to soon dropping bad news about parent illness and needing treatment expense that may be costly and pressure on you to folk out
