This was the closing ceremony of the Virtuoso competition for young classical musicians. The people at the table were the judges and so were Plácido and Dimash. The competition is in Budapest and Plácido was one of the founders. Three days before this performance, Plácido met Dimash for the first time and proposed Dimash to sing a duet. Dimash, although with a cold, accepted immediately. You need to see Dimash last MV When I’ve Got You. It’s Dimash own competition and something you have never seen Dimash singing. Thanks for your excellent reaction. ❤️☮️

This was a dream come true for Dimash. He shared that, at the age of 5, he had a VHC of a concert with Maestro Domingo and dreamed of meeting and working with him from that time. I am sure that Dimash appreciated being a judge on the Virtuoso program, highlighting young classical artists, at the invitation of Maestro Domingo. We will continue to support Dimash as he reaches for more dreams!

Thank you. This is magnificent. This was from the 'Virtuoso' show which is a contest between highly talented young musicians and singers. Placido and Dimash were members of the jury as are the people you see who are watching this performance. It is an incredible show and you would really enjoy it! This was fulfilling a dream of Dimash. The story is that 2 lifelong friends fall in love with the same woman and they decided to give up the girl and keep their friendship. Dimash will be 30 in May 2024 and Placido turned 83 a couple of days after this performance.

The Virtuosos is a televised competition for young classical musicians that is filmed in Budapest and shown across 4 countries in Europe, next year it's forecast to go out to 20 countries and Dimash has already been contracted to work as a judge again next year, Jose Carreras is also becoming a judge in 2025 and Elton John is under negotiations.
Apparently Dimash was not aware that he would be asked to sing and arrived straight from Serbia where he had been given The Karic Brothers Award which is the Serbian equivalent of the Nobel Prize.
He had a hacking cough but after being asked by Placido to perform a duet he could not refuse his childhood Idol, this duet is written by Bizet for a tenor and a baritone, Placido said that due to his age he no longer has the tenor tessitura and so he sang the baritone role whilst Dimash sang the tenor role.

My Mom told me the Placido story, much unfilmed, and his Mom told her, and that he used to pull the tape and others around in a wagon and slept with them in a cardboard shoe box. Gorgeous song! I totally agree! ❤😊
It was a spontaneous decision to sing this together. And it turned out wonderfully. 🥰
Opera is very competitive and only few singers have the opportunity to sing as soloists at opera houses.
So it’s a great miracle that Dimash declined that opportunity and decided to become an independent singer. 😳
That way we can all experience his voice and his creativity! 🤩🥰

When Placido Domingo met Dimash he excitedly asked if he would sing a duet with him, but he said that at 83 years of age he could no longer reach the tenor notes. So Plwcido sang the baritone part and Dimash took the tenor part. They were accompanied by the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra in Budapest, Hungary as they were both on the panel of Judges for the Virtuosos competition for young classical musicians. Dimash was personally invited to be a judge and guest performer by Placido who together with his son Placido Jr began this amazing programme to mentor the best young performers from European musical academies ❤ Dimash will be a judge again next year and Jose Carreras the other of the famous Three Tenors will also be there. I am hoping for another collaboration with Jose,Dimash and Placido ❤ For this performance they had one day to rehearse.❤ Certainly not a game show, goodness me. The people were the other judges for the young peoples competition that Dimash and Placido were also judging. Dimash is already a legend, the music industry is well aware of him. Dimash has his own creative centre, his own studios, his own record label and has no need of anyone else. Dimash has a career plan and he is on his own path ❤

Great reaction. We have missed you reacting to Dimash. Over a relatively short period of time we saw this masterpiece with Placido released, then an acoustic version of the song he wrote for the Dears called Omir, performed with his 17yo brother. It is also a masterpiece and a vocal master class in itself. Then a month ago he released his incredible When I’ve Got You with it’s amazing cinematic video, also a masterpiece in so many ways. For this he wrote the music and produced the video, accompanied by his dad Kanat, with his production company, which is now one of the largest in the world, DimashAli. Who in the world ever thought we would have vampire Dimash. If you react to the acoustic Omir (with subtitles, please! For the lyrics) then do When I’ve Got you, you will have your mind really blown at the incredible versatility of of Dimash and his almost immeasurable talent.

Happy to know that he was able to set his own up in his country instead of having Hollywood control him. I must say his father also works so hard with him. Of course, his brother and sister work with him. Where does one read to find these things out. I do go to DimashNews. Is there another spot to look on internet? Thanks!

To reply to the person who asked about the information on DimashAli…I read a comment a few weeks ago that there was a tv special in Germany that was focused on 6 young people changing the face of their industries. Dimash was featured as changing how music is produced. They said he is, along with everything else, “widely accepted as a business genius.” About DimashAli , which his dad, Kanat, helps him to run, they said it is one of the largest production companies in the world, covering an entire “campus” with multiple buildings for recording, sound stages, video production, marketing, storage of costumes and memorabilia…They said he was changing the face of music, not only because of what we all know is his incredible talent but by being in complete control of his entire career himself, rather than being managed by a record company.

@@bobcieslinski I just listened to the same duet (in full-this version was cut down a bit) sung by opera singers Will Liverman (baritone) and Lawrence Brownlee (tenor). It’s really interesting to compare the two versions-Dimash’s singing style is sort of opera-ish, and I didn’t realize until hearing the Liverman/Brownlee version that Domingo actually adjusted his style to match up to Dimash (or maybe they came together in the middle). More straight tones in this, less (by far) vibrato and overdarkening the tones. Peter Barber often talks about this but it was great to hear the difference. There’s also another version with Hvorostovsky singing the baritone part-very different from BOTH. I swear, following Dimash and then comparing some of his performances to others is like taking a master class in vocal music techniques.

👉 The world stands still for this moment and everyone holds their breath. A singing teacher calls them the two musical titans...yes, yes, yes! This duet was Dimash's dream and it is coming true. What an honor for our beloved Dimash and a great joy for Maestro Domingo…. And I was bathed in tears of joy. I'm sooo happy.
Dimash was asked to participate as a judge in the competition for young classical musicians... and then... he gave us dear ones this wonderful jewel.
Maestro Domingo invited Dimash to sing the duet with him the day before. Dimash only had a short night to learn this song in French... and besides, Dimash had a cold with a cough. (You notice it more clearly in the second song at the end of the concert.)
Dimash would never act recklessly towards his duet partners. With good manners and respect, he would never drown out Maestro Domingo (then still 82) with his voice. He even adapts to Maestro Domingo's vocal color.
Dimash opens a new world to many Dears... the world of classical music. You should definitely watch the video (look at the end of the comment)... so many young, talented musicians and the sensitive assessment of the jurors... Great!!! ... and the legendary duet of Maestro Domingo and Dimash Qudaibergen!

Many bel canto teachers have verified that Dimash brings a cross interpretation between rigid classical singing (which must follow norms and exactly as the author of the piece wrote, from the notes and durations, the portamentos, the expressiveness... Everything) and much more popular flexibility. For purists, let's remember that Dimash had the dream of singing with Plácido Domingos since he was a child and it was the Maestro himself, Don Domingos, who suggested the duet (he knew that even with classical training, Dimash would sing as a cross between classical and pop )! Dimash only had one day to remember the work and make the recording, as this moment is part of the competition (like a talent show) for children with musical talent: The “Virtuosos”! Dimash, as well as Placido Domingos, were part of the Jury, accompanied by Erika Miklósa (opera singer), Adrás Keller (violinist, conductor and musical director of the Budapest Concert), Hauser (cellist), Plácido Domingos Jr. (singer and composer), Pablo Sanz Villegas (classical guitarist), Gabriela Rachid (cultural director) and Harvey Goldsmith (music promoter)! The show was in Budapest (Hungary) from January 16th to 26th this year, 2024!

    Bien hecho, Maestro DIMASH.
    Un saludo desde España.❤

Hi!, nice reaction, thanks. It was a pleasure hearing this piece that blends two of the best male voices ever heard. I really like your reactions, especially about Dimash, because Lara Fabian and Dimash are my favorite singers. That's why, I would like to suggest two new songs that Dimash recently released : "Omir (live acoustic version with his brother playing guitar)" and "When I've got you". Finally, there is another very interesting modern opera song called "passione". I hope you enjoy them. Greetings and take care 👏👋

I grew up with Opera. Can’t sing a note myself but am a very appreciative audience.
My parents loved the three tenors and so did I.
After I listened to Placido (83) and Dimash (29) in Budapest, I was completely blown away.
    I love them together ❤
It initially made me think that Dimash was born for Opera. Then I listen to I’ll die for the wind in the mountains and I think he was born to sing that type of music 🎶
I had to take it all back and acknowledge that Dimash was born for singing 🎶 any song from any culture 😁
Placido is amazing. His voice is so rich and strong. He’s still got it ❤❤❤
A little snippet I heard or read was Dimash heard Placido sing when he was five years old and decided then that he wanted to sing with him one day so this is Dimash singing with his inspiration and his dream coming true.
    What a story ❤❤❤

You have missed sooooo much from Dimash in the time you were gone. Please go back and watch what he has done. Especially at the Almaty concert, Sept. 2022. He also appeared in China the end of last year and in Macau, where he sang Battle of Memories, in a pink suit.
He was in L.A. for a few monfhs earlier last year and met with music producers like David Foster and Nathan Wang.
There is a very short clip of Nathan and Dimash doing a piece of Schindler' s List music. Dimash then adds a little bit extra.
Please also see Dimash's concerts in Hong Kong and in Armenia. He sings a "folk song" in Armenian, I'll Die for the Wind in the Mountains " that he learned the day b4. It is the most hauntingly beautiful thing i have ever heard. His voice is just mesmerizing.
Yes, he has grown and matured but always sounds amazing.
Please go back and listen to him more often. I know you will be surprised. Thank you.

На самом деле №1 в этом дуэте - Димаш.
Безусловно Пласидо Доминго великий певец, но с ним поёт тот кто превзойдёт признанного мастера.
In fact, No. 1 in this duet is Dimash.
Of course, Placido Domingo is a great singer, but the one who sings with him is the one who will surpass the recognized master.

Dimash turns 30 on May 30, 2024. Dimash does not have blood running through his veins, musical notes have flowed through him since he was born. The genes of their parents and their siblings were also passed on to them. 😊. At the age of 5, Dimash's grandmother took him to piano and singing lessons. Dimash playing the piano at 5 years old: ua-cam.com/video/1Bz6HqKdf38/v-deo.htmlsi=aLsJsiCDrP2BTJjQ
Hello, as we all know your dears, Dimash is exceptional and the best male vocalist on the planet. Dimash was born among music. I had been listening to music since before I was born. His parents are very famous singers in their country, his mother is a soprano. It is in his genes because his grandmother was a singer when he was young, his parents are both very famous singers in their country. His father sings normal, and writes song lyrics and is a producer.
Now he is his son's manager and everything he has done so far, concerts, his music videos, etc. The family has its own production company, they are independent, called Dimashali. That is why many people do not know it because they do not have a large production company in the music industry that advertises it, plays it on all the global stations, platforms, etc. China was the hit and the word of mouth, the UA-camrs reactors. Now everyone would know him and for me, he already became one of the greats, a Legend...
His mother is a soprano, she sings very well and they usually go out as a duet.
They both know how to play the piano and the mother even knows how to play the accordion.
But as Dimash said in an interview in his country and they told him that it is in his genes and he replied: 5% or 10% will be genetic but 90% was hard work, perseverance and discipline.
    I will share some links.

I'll give kudos for both vocalists and the orchestra. As you know, I'm not much of an opera type listener, and of opera, male performers rate lowest, lol. The only other type of music I can barely take is the old, old traditional Chinese vocals that kind of shriek. I know it is a technique and been done for probably centuries but my ears rebel, lol. Kind of like I've only barely listened to any Pavarotti in my life, and never an entire song. I can appreciate them of course, but in this case I would prefer the orchestra. ;)
