i just want to be clear on FENTY winning the "Urban Luxe" award! if FENTY is worthy of an award, it should have been put up for a brand of the year and should have had to compete with other big luxury brands. but to create a whole new category that is suspiciously put out the same year that Rihanna is eligible for a nomination, and then calling it "Urban Luxe" is very strange to me. i also don't think the brand deserves the recognition until it has done something worthy of recognition, and right now this seems to be a very early placement of honor on a brand that doesn't have it's own aesthetic finalized because it literally is not even a year old and has not had a fashion show yet. i'm here for rihanna to win, when it's deserved, and the British Fashion Awards threw an award at rihanna in a made up category because they wanted to feel like they are diverse and inclusive. and to me that's the real thing that is wrong.
HauteLeMode of course it will not do some over the top launches because it’s just a new brand and they’re launching from every type and style to know what their customers want from them! And if u looked and analyzed the launches you’ll see a futuristic vibe with the accessories with a LOT of inspiration from the black heritage she has ( the thing we OBVIOUSLY see in the last launch) besides that you can see that the denim is a staple in the branding of FENTY. No big brand now has started with flashy launches till they « tested the waters » as you said about FENTY in a previous videos.

They added “urban” to luxe because it’s black owned, I swear the always add extra categories for POC like we can’t be apart of the overall event/award. An example that rubs me the wrong way is the normal UA-cam awards and then UA-cam black

Urban is a stupid way to just say, "for BLACK music" or " for BLACK people" because the sound or style may have come from a BLACK populated area. It's like saying, Oh and now it's time for the black people because they are SO DIFFERENT and could never compete with US. Its interesting.
I never watch award shows. Mariah Catey just made a moody and beautiful R&B album named Caution, but because she's "old", she doesn't get attention from the Grammy's because they want new hot celebrities for the views. SMH it's so political its garbage. It's a slap in the face to actual talented artist (like Mariah) and many more. It's not about the music (or fashion) and what that does for our souls, its about making money. I never watch💯

i actually really loved Rihannas aesthetic when she designed for fentyxpuma, but right now, i agree that fenty hasn't really identified any particular brand aesthetic yet. its understandable since its so new, and there's really not been any runways or shows of it. there probably shouldn't have been any award in the first place, since its not even a year old, its a bit weird to award a "__ of the year" title to it. i would have accepted it for winning smt like, "new brand of the year" or smt, but its pretty clear they just wanted ri to win smt for the press and the diversity points without having her compete with the other brands

So over the whole FENTY thing. I don't have anything against Rihanna, but, come on, the brand didn't have a SHOW yet. Do they think people will just be like "OMG YES! soooo deserved!" ? How ?! The "urban" thing. Yeah. Maybe they should have just made a "streetwear" or something category. In that case, I think Marine Serre would have won. Loved her last few collections.
Also, the whole Bottega thing... really though? Women's designer of the year ? At this point Dolce & Gabbana should have been awarded most inclusive brand of the decade.
PS: Would have loved seeing a Roksanda Ilincic look on the red carpet considering she was nominated, see another, smaller, brand worn by guests other than the usual LV, YSL, Armani ...
Having a streetwear category is literally doing the same thing that they did with the Urban Contemporary category. Like, why do black designers always have to be put under urban or streetwear? She created a luxury brand to compete with the others, Fenty should be put up there along with the other designers for the actual awards. She deserved an award as a successful New designer, but stop putting black creators in categories so they don't have to be in spaces with everyone else.
PS: There won't be a fashion show from FENTY, because its a brand trying to do things different from all other luxury brands. Thus, Rihanna decided against a fashion show because, shes doing it for the Instagram age millenial, a see it buy it approach. No waiting for months on end after the fashion show, in order to buy a dress you saw on the runway.

The only thing I liked about Rih's look were the shoes, hair and makeup. But speaking of Fenty, I'm not seeing the vision. The whole no runway show is dumb. I get they're trying to do something different but it's dumb. And Fenty doesn't really reflect the way Rihanna dresses imo. I was so excited when I first found out about her luxury house but then I saw the clothes and I wasn't impressed. Idk if it's bc her style has changed in the past few years or bc Jahleel is works for Fenty instead of Mel Ottenberg. Either way Fenty just isn't doing it for me so far. I'm a black woman and a Rihanna stan so I want her to win. It's still a new brand though so there's still time to grow.
Seems like her design team hasn't designed enough pieces for a runway, plus I feel like a runway would put a lot of spotlight on the brand and it'll be easier to see how low key boring the line is, and the lack of vision. It's weird cos her puma lines seemed more creative.

Her fashion sense has changed. She wears a lot more business casual mixed with oversized and a lot of accessoires. I still felt like it represented her style, the accessoires were missing tho
