    Hey mate, To make the light turn on with headlights find the wire that illuminates the switch then you can ethier tap into the fuse for your dash lights or you can find the pos and neg wires for your dash lights and tap into it that way keep the positive and negative how you have it so it works with lights on/off hope it makes sense

    • @FlakeGarage
      @FlakeGarage  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, one of the wires we tied together for the positive will just need to tap into the light wire. We just haven’t separated or figured out which one to tap into. We left it like that for the meantime but we do plan to fix it

    Thank you for the informative vid. My clockspring went bad. Until I can install a new one I installed a 10amp fuse from +, a 4 pin relay, aux horn and new horn switch. I will be installing a 5 pin illuminated horn button switch. I returned the 16mm button from Amazon and ordered a 19mm one which fits directly in the hole for the optional fog light switch on my Saturn Ion.
    Please note that the horn button link you posted is for a 16mm opening not a 19mm opening.

    Wire up a relay where the ground triggers the relay for the horn and you can use the button on your aftermarket steering wheel

      Is this for the airbag version of the truck or the non air bag? The problem with the air bag version is there no metal that connects the horn to the hub. You would need to fab something that touches without getting tangled on turns

      Yeah that’s another way you could do it too. This install definitely needs a bit of redesign and improving

    I used a spring from a pen to extend the power connection behind the hub. My horn with the nrg hub and aftermarket wheel works! Lmk if that makes sense.

      @@FlakeGarage I thought it did since it was all oem set up but i guess it doesnt. Mine is a 1990 and after looking at your install video again, i can confirm the area behind the nrg hub is different than mine. Sorry. Thought i could help since you all have helped me so much with my build.

      @@SoVividTV No worries, yeah that's why we said that this is particular to the trucks that came with airbags on them. The earlier models had no airbags so it's a bit easier to make it work. Glad you got yours working tho!

    • @FlakeGarage
      @FlakeGarage  11 місяців тому +1

      The light staying is most likely what’s draining it so it might be better to wire it to where the light only comes on when you press it
