    Great explanation throughout, particularly with paying attention to the body measurement and the finished garment measurements.

    Thank you for this Haley. I’m making pants for my daughter. Her hips are 45” and waist is 32” The pants have an elastic waist band but if not altered would still be 13” of extra fabric at the waist.

    You made this look so easy! I have to go from a 6 waist to an 8 hip on a wrap skirt. I now feel confident I can do it!

    Thank you very much for the tutorial. It really saved the day! I am 2sizes bigger at the hips & had problems adjusting most patterns. After many views I came across your video & what a blessing! At last an easy way to adjust my patterns!

    Thank you! So helpful. But, what do you suggest for someone without a hip curve? Freehand it?

    thanks for the helpful video! still trying to wrap my mind around this concept. If I were going to grade the bust of a dress bodice, would I have to also adjust my sleeve size? The example with the waist of a skirt and a waistband makes sense, but I'm not sure how/if the bust size affects the sleeve opening size.

    • @SeamworkVideo
      @SeamworkVideo  3 роки тому +1

      Grading up at the bust usually means extending the under arm which does mean that garments with sleeves will require additional alteration to the sleeve. If you are looking to increase at the bust without the need to adjust the sleeve a full bust adjustment may be a better choice for you. Thank you for this. I am making a top with darts and being a fuller bust, I’ve measured the pattern for this area. Having a small waist, have you any suggestions to alter a pattern for tops rather than bottoms or skirts / dresses?

      Yes! You can blend between sizes on any type of garment.

    Any tips for adjusting between sizes when you have darts? I have a waistcoat pattern where my hip & waist measurement fall under one size but my bust measurement is the next size down.

    • @SeamworkVideo
      @SeamworkVideo  3 роки тому +1

      In general it's best to blend below the darts. Cut the size of your bust and then blend starting below the darts.
