Wonderful stuff by by the most underrated acid rock guitar player of the San Francisco bands. Who played on the best psychedelic album of the period..Electric Music For The Mind And Body.
I was invited by Greg Hoffman who had two backstage passes, a trip of a lifetime! Watching from backstage I kept taking pictures of this one guitarist to the point of Greg asking me if I knew who that was, I answered no, and he said that's Barry Melton...
"The Butcher's Boy" Barry "The Fish" Melton (guitar, vocals), Bobby Flurie (guitar), Stephane Missri (guitar), Banana (keyboards), Steve Ashman (bass), Scott Leverone (drums) -- Copyright 2007 Seafood Music (BMI)
That was Banana? What a trip. My first SF rock concert: Youngbloods and Big Brother at the Carousel, May 68 -- Hell's Angels bash. $1 admission. I didn't know Banana stayed active. Thanks for posting the line-up.
Highly, highly jealous about you having been there- it must have been a blast! What I meant was that there was a distinct lack of appreciation of talent like this on youtube- this fine clip had been up for a fair old while before it even got one comment, and to date this makes only three. Still, I suppose it's been viewed 700 times now, so that's something at least. Any idea why the Fish hasn't rejoined with the Country Joe Band?

That album is psychedelic like none other
My favorite record since high school. Class of 1969.
I love the drumming on that record as well
Nice . Sounds like the music of the 60s and 70s. Rock with the blues.
You must be kidding me-what a gem. I love Barry Melton, what a great human being! Thanks to the uploader.

Fuuuuck! This gave me shivers at the show! I'm not sure I've heard it as loud as it was up front, but it was worth the trip from Az!
