Nihil is very cool because as you said it's zero and annihilation but it's also very similar to the word "kneel" that fit really well with the palace, the dynasty theme, and the outer god

@@AntoniusTertius I thought he was talking about Varré. But Kale also has some mournful, with a bit of crescendo, and climax lines. In his cut questline you could find him in the Shunning grounds, past Illusion Mogh, talking about his comrades.
@@AntoniusTertius Kale has a cut questline where he says "If that's what they expect from us., then that's what they shall get from us!" and the delivery of the line is perfect.

Is mogh referencing miquella
I wouldn't be surprised if the Nihil/Nothing refers to the Formless Mother, since she is ... well formless. In a sense that title calls her nothingness. And the bloodboon ritual is utilizing her power, so it would make sense for Mohg to call out to her.
Kinda assumed, because he's so protective of Miquella- that he's just calling us nothing as he tries to kill us.
He does look like that kind of guy indeed.

I find it bizzare that some people actually got upset when others "translate" the word "nihil" as "zero". Do they expect the devs to use "void" or something?
I didn't know people got upset about this, that may explain the dislike this video got already, it's only one so far, but it upsets me.

Com certeza, a luta contra o Mogh é uma das lutas do jogo menos faladas. Tipo, deveriam falar mais dela, o espetáculo da luta é muito bom, sem contar que ela também é boa mecânicamente.
Todo mundo perde a noção de sanidade quando veem o Godfrey, mas ninguém aprecia a luta contra o Mohg. Ótimo vídeo como sempre!

Nihil could just be him evoking the name of the Formless Mother, to be formless is to be nothing. Maybe it's like some prayer for him and his religion.
Miyazaki makes things intentionally vague so that each of us can create a theory, I explain this in the video "Elden Ring OST The Final Battle Official Lyrics". Also, there's a recent article in which an Elden Ring translator states that the story only exists in Miyazaki's imagination.

How do you say 'for the champion'/'for the best one' in latin? Like, for example, a phrase that you could write on a tag attached to a reward or a gift that's gonna be given to a champion of some contest or tourney (particulary a medieval knights duel)
Is 'nam victor' a correct form? Or should it sound somewhat different?
Hi there, you gotta use the dative: "VICTORI"/"OPTIMO". Now, I have to say that there are words that could be used to mean champion, I studied Classical Latin texts and not medieval ones, victor would mean "conqueror", but people would be the meaning anyway. These words mean champion too (but remember the context, I'd have to find a medieval text about medieval knights duels in Latin for me to assure what word they used to describe the champion of those duels): "DECERTATORI", "PROPUGNATORI".
As medieval Latin is way for simple and obvious than Classical Latin, I do think you'll be fine with "victori" ^^

I think the real reason why mohg says nihil is because of his connection to the formless mother
I mean if she's called the formless mother and nihil means nothings it all connects to the formless mother being nothing but flesh and blood
Food for thought, I guess. However the part "nothing but flesh and blood" seems contradictory as flesh and blood are something, I mean, they are not nothing. If Mohg wished to say "nothing but flesh and blood" he wouldn't have said only nihil.

Hi Killer Queen. I would have to receive them from people who worked in the game. As I was given so many lyrics already, I don't want to bother them again asking for more; well I received Placidusax's official lyrics and published them at least.

You know when I played it like a year ago I told my gf that mohg count down from three to one in Latin then he said Nihil which means nothing and she said maybe it meant zero anyway I miss her so much

On the other hand, it is so natural to say 3,2,1,0 in a countdown.
In the end, Mohg is able to express all of that in a single word, nihil, that's typical in Latin.

I like the idea that somebody else here has exposed thinking "nihil" refers to the "Formless mother", the Mother of Truth, because that concept seems to have a buddhistic abstraction indeed.
