      +major hull damage to bow midships and aft hull, significant fire and electrical damage to turrets 2, 3, 4, and 6 plus fire damage to aft steering room, forward conning tower and perhaps bridge with significant general penetration damage to ship superstructure combined with severely over clocking not just the gun barrels, but the recoil absorption of the gun mechanism, the absolutely terrifying speed at which those 4.7 inch 35 pound shells have to be fed from magazine into feed trays and lifted 3 stories to the gun then slammed into the breech all within less than a second and your having to look at a complete replacement of the reloading mechanisms on every turret.
      Prognosis: 11 and a half tons of scrap steel with a working engine and prop that by gods own miracle and the generosity of Neptune is somehow able to steam into the bone yards under her own power

    For our man of the hour in the Austin. He managed to get 9 full salvo's off. Before the first one even reached the Smolensk. That is 9 full salvo's of 12 shells each. That comes out too 108 shells in the air. Before the first Salvo even reached it's target.

      @jannegrey Рік тому +4

      @@AnujeetRoy09 Apologies if it sounded obtuse. It's just that trying to imagine that was both funny and cringey. And when I heard for the first time that firing it's autocannon continuously (with infinite ammo of course) could make it airborne backwards - because again it produces around 50% of thrust in opposite direction, I really thought it was such a "stereotypical" American thing to do. "We love guns. We want guns to be able to fly now" was the feeling I got. Obviously a lot more goes into that, but that is the "fun" when you have virtually unlimited budget on defense like US has. Though admittedly it's less fun if you're a taxpayer or target for rapid democratization ;)
      Not to mention that when I did some back of the envelope calculations it seemed like recoil would kill the pilot and shred the plane, though it would fall of the sky regardless of how it was constructed (because it would "stop" mid-air), but well....
      I'm sleep deprived so my idea of funny is a bit off. Again apologies for being a nuisance.

    Jingles is unusually Jingles-like today. He's in rare form. Here's what I've noticed:
    1:28: Atlanta and San Diego have a 7.2 second base reload. Err, actually, Jingles, they have a 4.8 and 5.5 second base reload, respectively. Their turret traverse time is 7.2 seconds.
    1:35: The Gearing also has a 7.2 second base reload. Um, no, it has a 3 second base reload. Again, turret traverse is 7.2 seconds.
    1:41: The Forrest Sherman has a frankly absurd 4.5 second reload. Ah, no, it has a far more absurd 1.5 second reload. Its turret traverse is 4.5 seconds. I'm noticing a pattern here.
    9:50: Whichever team captures [the key area] wins the battle. Well, not necessarily. The key area acts more like a capture point in Domination than the base in Standard. It gives you points over time. It just gives lots of points quite quickly, so _usually_ the team who captures it wins in short order. However, I've been in matches where the enemy captured the key area, and then we took it and ended up winning.
    14:13: He's hydro'd by the Venezia on the enemy team. That's pretty impressive, Jingles, considering that the Venezia doesn't _have_ hydro. It was the Preussen's hydro that was detecting him.
    Jingles _does_ get the Smolensk's reload speed right at the end, though, so credit where it's due.

    2:09 "...as you can tell by the replay bug at the top of the screen letting us know that the key area is gonna be available for capture in around about 52 years."
    Funny thing is, Jingles was only off by 1 year.
    27882125 / 60 = 464702.083 (minutes to hours)
    464702.083 / 24 = 19362.586805 (hours to days)
    19362.586805 / 365 = 53.04818302891933 (days to years)
