Just a note: Mage characters may want to save all sources of ancient knowledge until 250 AK has been reached. Reason being the learning points required for more AK will double at this point. You lose out on some learning points but with about 400 AK you become insanely strong

Good way to start the new game, but it works well only for warrior or archer. For mage is a much better to save all this tablets and bookshelves for the moment, when AK will be over 250 points. For reason, that each next point of AK at 250+ points with turned on AB will costs 2 points instead of 1. Simple math: we have 50 AK from the other sources (not from LP). We learn AK to 50, gain Learn Quickly (5 points?), then learn AK to 250 and use all tablets and LPs. At lvl 27 we will have 300 AK from all sources and 26 extra LPs (total AK=313). If we use tablets immediately at lvl 2 we will have 4 more LPs, but later we lost 50 LPs at AK 250+ for learning it.

Facts
In alternative balance, the stone tablets you buy are worth only +3 AK, not +5, so you'll need at least 9 of the stones to get over +25 AK from those. Since they are 250 (or 500? It's a lot) rather than 75 coin (as it is in the normal balance), you will have to steal and raid lots of outdoor chests for loot to sell for cash. Also, when you finish the Orc battle at the start of the game, you'll probably have about 1600 or so points already, so the Cape Dun run should only be for the teleporter stone since Deckard (the vendor) won't open his shop inventory screen unless you give him 3 mana potions at which point he rewards you with 500 XP pushing you above 2000 pts. At 2000+ pts, that means later when you go to the desert dig sites, you will be awarded an automatic 1000 XP pts putting you over into level 3. There is an immense circle hit zone around the Al-Hashinin dig site, so swimming in won't help, but you can bypass it completely and swim to Mora-Sul instead.
Unfortunately, there are lots of 500 XP awards for venturing into new territories, the main one you can avoid is the one into the desert, and that you avoid by swimming from Cape Dun to Lago. If you want to skip the desert dig site of al-Hashinin completely (and the automatic award of 1000 XP points), you can swim from the Nomad camp to Mora-Sul, bypassing the Al-Hashinin dig site, but you'll miss a few AK points from it.
One other point, the starting fight can't be avoided as if you back off to try and let your companions and villagers fight the orcs, all the slaves fighting will eventually be killed and the now available orcs will hunt for you specifically, even if you are hiding away from the compound. Your best bet here to limit XP gain is simply to kill off scouts which are only 50XP, OR (but this requires much more skill), if you can weaken an orc fighting a companion and let the companion deal the finishing blow, then you won't receive the XP. This is tricky though as you are a primary target of ALL the orcs there, and they will want to switch targets if you get close, - using archery helps with this method. That indirect kill method is best for the leader who is 150 XP, and warriors who are 100XP. Generally, though you'll have at least 1600 XP after the initial battle though as you are awarded an automatic 500 XP when it is over added to whatever kills you made.
since my goal is always to have around 500 AK so this feels like a waste of the stone tablets+bookshelves. i learn quickly on level 6 - therefore losing 6 LP. after that i finish quests and clear ardea, reddock, montera and perhaps some stuff around okara+silden with basic level character - all the while boosting only AK up to 250, saving all stone tablets i get from merchants along the way. once i have 250 AK i use all tablets and all bookshelves. on my last playthrough i boosted AK from 250 all the way up to 490 - with all stone tablets i managed to get, bookshelves and stone pillars u find in varant. after that, i went to the akascha's tomb, used his ancestor stone and got +10 AK up to 500. at that time i can easily kill most stuff with just a lightning bolt, dont even have to charge it. after i have 250 AK i can focus all my LP into other areas since it wont pay off spending 2 LP for each 1 AK above 250.
Well actually you can get up to 3 stone tables from a merchant. It's a rare but it's possible. Also if someone want there is a mod that make merchant inventory not dynamic (merchant who has artifacts).
what mod is it ?
This way is a bad idea if you play as mage. It's better to grow up AK with points first. Learning 'Learn faster' at lvl 6 or 7 it is also worthy and you lose less exp
It's a nice guide but extremly difficult to execute. First of all each trader you've mentioned may have up to 5 stone tablets and each of them costs 6000 gold. It is impossible to gather that much money on lv 2 (if you know how then please tell me :v). There is another problem with this method but it only affects mages - with alternative balance after you reach point of 250 points in ancient knowledge you have to pay 2 learning points for 1 point of AK so it is not worth spending that ammount of 'free' AK early on.
As I said in video, yes, it will require decent time :) Personal choice ofc.

Actually you can beat up Jens (hunter in front of cape dun), his bow sells for 3k, in vanilla I'm pretty sure it respawns on him so basically it's an infinite money glitch, when using mods, hovewer, I'm not sure if in fact the bow respawns on him, will do the testing tomorrow

There is also one orc merchant in Gotha that sell tablets. Cant remember name but he stands just as you enter from Montera
didn't play with a.b. but the once I know that you didn't mention:
-Gotha upper quarter
-two from the orc in Faring in the castle (forgot his name, starts with Z I believe) [thought there is no way to get that at level 2[
-two from Lester after you talked to him in the beginning
-You get two from the water mage in Al Shedin (he's with Saturas, I think his name was Riordian)
-You can find another in Al-Shedin by the tent on one of remaining debris
-There is one in the ruins between Ishtar and Mora Sul
-by collecting three vases of the priests/warriors you get bonus AK, which lay in the temple ruins south of Mora Sul as well as around the area that you have to collect the temple keys for Saturas
-if you can manage to get into the upper quarter of Silden, there is a bookshelf there as well
-if you can (somehow) manage to get pass the Sandcrawlers, there are actually two additional once far west of Varant in that valley of death (or whatever it's called) as well as a cave nearby (quest for Nefarius to clear that cave)
-I believe the bookshelf near Okara where the mage lies that you can recruit also gives AK though I'm not sure about this one
-the stone tablet at the Nomad camp near Brago
-Prostrate yourself at the shrine of Beliar in Mora Sul without actually learning anything. Then exit out and go to the oasis east of Mora Sul and ask Yasmin to fuck you for additional + 10 AK
Yeah. Almost everything you mentioned was cut in A.B.
But couple are exist still. I'm just a human after all :)
Collecting the hiden stone tablets through out the world will also give you a decent amunt of AK, thehre are tons of them, but some of them might get you killed by the nearby beasts, so you gotta be fast, but its worth it!

Learn quickly is a must have skill for ALL classes, not only mages ;)
True when I found that out it was too late for me I was already level 30+ and I'm playing with Alternative balance and alternative AI community patch 1.175 and it was hard for me to catch up those levels that I've missed.

As a mage I am better off if I wait to use stone tablets and the other stuff after 250 INT
And even as a melee character I dont need that many learn points.
Gothic 3 is easy and after 380 STR you dont get much better.
Archery sucks anyway.

With 380 STR you can use krush tarach which is better than both ogre morningstar (450 STR) or any other melee weapon.
It has the most reach and unlike the ogre weapon you can sharpen it. Additional strengh will only boost damage very very slightly.
Not really worth it.
After 380 STR more is not worth it. Its better to have more endurance for more spinning attacks or just more health.
And bows/ crossbows suck....sorry but they just suck.
Even with 300+ DEX and the demon bow the damage is soo bad.
When it comes to playstyles its:
Magic > 2h melee > sword and shield > 2 swords >> bow > crossbow

Even if bow had 2x damage the reloading takes so much time thats it takes far too long and is way to uneffectiv to even consider unsing it.
And please explain why its better to level str over 380 and not putting the lp into endurance or hp?

Propably outdated but before you enter Cape Dun there is a small hut with Jens. After you knock him out hes bow is worth over 5k+ and hes very easy to defeat at lvl 2 char. Also he wont get mad becouse you just beat him.

In vanilla you can. This is not vanilla video.
you can with cm3.1, 1.75, qp and rest of those common mods. You just have to leave ardea as fast as possible to avoid experience gain from killed orcs. I can upload my save if you want
GwynLordOf420 with A.B and 1.75 cp it’s harder to execute. I would say almost impossible and not worth the time. Gothic is just one of those RPG’s where’s there’s countless amounts of strategies you can do to get strong in certain aspects of the game. Just know that A.B makes the game
more role play like as it should’ve been. So you have to think a little before choosing what your next move is. Unlike 1.74 and before
