    Second time watching this video, I just realized you mentioned an option to adjust the item value. This is HUGE for me since the piece of crap country I live in murders you with rates, you end up paying twice as much as whatever you bought cost you after 50usd. I repair old cameras for fun, and the Japanese old camera market is the biggest anywhere in the world. Glad I decided to rewatch it after a few months lol

    Here's the thing about these Japanese import websites, you pay shipping twice and it is CRAZY expensive. Macho Nacho went through with this but had the shipping covered. Me, however, using Buyee, scored a 60 can BOSS coffee flat for 32usd (loved this stuff when I was in japan). Free shipping to the warehouse. Here's the con- What they don't tell you is you won't know the shipping until AFTER you've bought the product. Shipping to the States was $81.00usd. So much for that nice deal. I went though with it just because I wanted to taste BOSS coffee again, But pretty much anything you're buying is going to be a waste of money if you can get it from somewhere else in the world. Until the import delivery fees come down, this is still not a good deal.

    • @MrAgentEcho

      That’s where buying multiple things comes in handy. They store all your stuff at their warehouse so you can have a bunch of stuff shipped together instead of individually.

    “Junk” can also just mean untested. Your excitement when your realised it worked fine was cool to see!
    I remember at the end of the life of the Gameboy micro, there was a department store near me clearing them out for about $50Au (~$35US) and they had a massive pile of them. If only I knew how the price would go through the roof.

    • @MachoNachoProductions

      That’s good to know. I guess it’s just a generic term they use for some used items.
      Oh man if only we could turn back the clocks. That’s some crazy good prices for a Micro. I remember I had bought one for a pretty good price towards their end of life. I sold it on eBay a long time ago and totally regret it.

      bookoff, lol. i always thought it was funny that they sell porn (like half the store) and they call it bookoff. genius. but yeah, i lived in tokyo for 2 years, there are much better spots than rando bookoffs in distant prefectures. shibuya is probs where i'd start, just because that place is an awesome place to shop and has everything, then i'd go to akihabra (i think is the name) and visit super potato. the rest of my time would be spent actually enjoying japan and doing all the otaku stuff i miss so much. the sega arcade and coco ichiban are pretty important stops as well

    I just came here, a year later after I left my first comment, just to say thank you. I'm about to have some extra money, and I'm looking to get a few things I've wanted for years at this point. Very rarely have I ever bought games online through ebay or the like, my entire collection basically is just from thrift store finds and what not. However, in the past like 6 years or so finding ANYTHING at thrift stores slowly became next to impossible. It's just so cool to me that because of this it seems like I'll actually have a shot at investing in some of this stuff at a price that wouldn't be flat out unreasonable. Good luck to everybody else on getting your dream consoles/games, and once again thank you, if I hadn't been binging your videos this method probably wouldn't have even been something on my radar.
    Edit: I now have a Japanese virtual boy in beautiful condition, along with Mario Clash, teleroboxer, vertical force and galactic pinball. Everything, shipping included was 192 dollars. I couldn't be happier with this first experience.

    As somebody that never thought about this, browsing the website actually blew my mind. I knew a lot of retro stuff was cheaper there, but Holy hell, they're practically giving away stuff that would be sold for an organ here. The only thing that's holding me back from trying this is the international shipping fees, but man I want to try this at some point if not just to get a PC Engine.

    It seems to me that japanese have far higher quality expectations when it comes to selling second hand products.

    So an update. I used sendico, and I have to say, unless the item is only in japan or half price when compared to your local area then its simply not worth buying. Sendico fees are ridiculous. You have fees for topping up, a free for auction, shipping packaging fee, japan tax fee, shipping fee, additional checking fees, import fees into your country. All these add up and make the final item far too expensive and in fact its still cheaper to buy in your home country.

    • @MachoNachoProductions
      @MachoNachoProductions  4 роки тому +3

      Agree that one needs to do a break even analysis prior to committing to the service. Thankfully if your willing to put in the effort you can determine the max bid price you are willing to pay and from that you can determine sales tax. From that you should be able to determine the import duties based on the value. The inland shipping information should be presented up front in the listing. Some of the fees you mentioned are optional such as checking fees which you can opt out of. It’s definitely not like buying from amazon, so one should expect to do some homework prior to see if they are getting a good deal. I made a spreadsheet to calculate how much I was willing to bid in auctions and would definitely recommend this as a strategy. There are some great deals on the site but as with anything, your mileage may vary. Sorry that you had a mixed experience. Let me know if you’d like to know more about my strategies. Cheers!

    Mercari has some good deals as well sometimes, got 2 'junk' PSP's for 15 euro's and a working Sony LAM Z03 that just needs new speaker wires for 34 euro's. Mercari also includes inland shipping so no added cost beside the 500 yen commission

    Hi Macho Nacho productions, I am a big fan of your channel and I was wondering how much money the shipping might be for two gameboys as the description dosent say the weight, also should i be worried about the shipping cost because there are other comments sating the shipping is like $30 . I bought a ags001 gba sp for $90 off ebay back in august and now the triggers are unresponsive because i tried to do a reshell😂

    Does anyone know if it’s possible to have items from Sendico shipped to an address in Japan instead of overseas? I have a friend there on holidays and it’d be cheaper for them to just receive the items and bring it back with them.

    Great video, very informative for someone walking through the platform for the first time. Nice tip with the external search for added control. Wondering is there a way to only to recoup the unused balance from a deposit? E.g. deposit $500 and buy a $400 item, how do you go about getting the $100 back?

      I’m pretty sure you can withdraw funds. However I do believe there is a small fee to do so. I haven’t researched that fully. It’s a great question! Cheers!

    Great Video btw! The Quality is amazing! But i have a few questions
    1. In order to make a bid, do i need to have at least the starting price in my funds? Or at least 50 yen?
    2. How can i tell the weight of the product for the estimation tool?
    3. Is there a way to know the international shipping costs before placing the bid?
    Thanks!

      Thank you Paramahansa YK! I’m glad you are enjoying the videos! I’ll try and answer as best I can:
      1. I think you need to have at least the amount needed in order to pay for your current bid and shipping as well as the 500 yen fee.
      2. I just put in a worst case guess. I usually enter 1kg to be on the safe side if I think my package will be small. It’s sometimes good to run several scenarios to get a ballpark range.
      3. If I’m not mistaken, I think the estimation tool also includes international shipping. If not, you can check out services like DHLs website or Japan Post to estimate costs.
      I hope that was a little helpful. I’m still a beginner myself. Hopefully as I order more from Japan, I can give better tips. Cheers buddy and best of luck!

    I got my Gameboy micro for dirt cheap. I paid about $30 for it. Only because, the Retro video game store was at, thought that the screen was all scratched up. After I paid for the system. I told the guy that the screen wasn't scratched up and just took off the faceplate. His jaw just dropped. The faceplate was in that bad of a condition where I could just pull it off. I went home happy. And just ordered a new faceplate.

      I’m not 100% sure but they may hold your item until you have a 0 balance in your wallet. I think the sale will go through fine but they may just hold on to it. They have pretty good customer service. I would reach out the them via Facebook. They are fairly responsive. Hope that helps. Cheers!

    Hi! Big Fan of your Channel. Keep up the great content. I have a quick question regarding your process with Sendico. When you create your Parcel, and pick a shipping method there is another screen to confirm your shipment as well as choose Protective Packaging, Stretch Film Wrapping, & Insurance. I was curious on what you have chosen for these options and your experience around that. Thank you! :-)

    • @MachoNachoProductions
      @MachoNachoProductions  4 роки тому

      Great question MasterCPU! So for my 2 orders from Sendico, I actually didn't purchase any of those options. If I were to order something perhaps more valuable, both the insurance and the protective packaging may be a good option to buy. I hope that helps a little. Cheers buddy!

    First of all, great video! Very informative and helpful, thanks a lot! I have a question: What happens after those 60 days my items were being stored in the sendico warehouse? Do I HAVE to pay the shipment fee and get my items shipped or can I just say something like „Hey, I don‘t want those items anymore, just hold onto them if you want.“ sorry for my bad english!

    • @MachoNachoProductions
      @MachoNachoProductions  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Zero! That’s a great question. I’m actually not 100% sure. I would imaging they may reach out to you and ask you to begin the shipping progress. I’m sure they will allow you to hold it there longer but they may charge you extra. Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful! Best of luck! Cheers!
