yes ma..u can cook chicken..initially cook food without tomatoes ma...after many times of usage seasoning would have become strong and then u can cook with tomatoes..happy that u got iron pan..yes in USA pan would be of very good quality ..u r lucky ma

oil apply panitu apdiye vitudanum..after each usage since rust wont be formed in oil coating..next time use panrapo u can wash and use it before cooking normal sunflower oil use panunga ist time onion fry throw paniranum...then u can cook in any oil

iron pan is not recommended for gravy ma....iron is best for poriyal, varuval ...after seasoning new pan , till 2 weeks u may experience that black ...after using and cleaning each time with dish wash liquid will make it good..after 2 weeks of usage u won't experience that black and maintain it well after each cleaning...wipe off the water to prevent from rust...rust will cause that black color ma

ok ..initially it will be like silver color before cooking.. when you use it it starts becoming black in color..so no problem
