My PlayHouse, In a previous career, I used Ryobi tools often, and they were excellent. My experience comes from both this Li-on series and the previous, much handsomer navy blue generation of Ni-Cd powered One+ tools. They are not the absolute best tools one could hope to own, but they are excellent for medium duty projects. Many other brands such as Makita, Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Porter Cable make battery powered tools with components that are meant for much more wear and use on heavier projects. If the lime green color is a bit too almost phosphorescent for you, then the navy blue previous models of One+ tools will also fit these newer Li-on batteries, which perform much better than the older Ni-Cd ones. Also, the battery chargers for Ni-Cd models of Ryobi batteries can also be used to charge the Li-on batteries, and vice-versa with the Ni-Cd batteries and Li-on chargers. The Ryobi Ni-Cd One+ batteries will also power these later version green tools, too, without any modifications at all. My experience with a Ryobi jigsaw came with a corded model. It worked well, and it had a laser guiding system that never did point exactly straight to 0 degrees of deviation from the blade cutting. The corded version is usually the more efficient as it can deliver more power without binding the blade in the material, one of the drawbacks of battery powered saws. I do, however, far and away prefer battery powered impact drivers and drills. I do not have much faith in a battery powered angle grinder. I do not think such a tool could sustain the necessary torque required to defeat the resistance of materials such as steel or iron beyond perhaps cutting the random bolt, nail, or screw. Nevertheless, Ryobi does put excellent value into most of its tools if the users acknowledge the limitations of them.

I got a bosh drill that has LI-ON and its awesome. Would never ever go back to old NI-MH or NI-CD. Also the battery holds its charge when stored unlike old types.

Just went on ebay... you can find ones that look like the battery you used a rubberband with... but they lock into a Ryobi unit. Just bought one. 25 dollars. Only 2000 mah vs the Ryobi "ONE+" 4000 mah. But still. I just bought the "ONE+" at home depot and they are 100 dollars.

Nice tools but isn't Bosch tools cheaper in Denmark being so close to Germany. I have 2 Bosch drills, 1 regular like the Falcon and 1 impact (the blue ones not the green crap), only 12v and Ni-Mh but i am very happy with them. At my previous job i had Bosch, Makita, Dewalt tools and the Makita tools are the best IMO. Never tried Ryobi tools but from your videos they look like good tools.

My PlayHouse You didn't see the prices in Israel. I bought the 2 Bosch drills 12v + 2 batteries(Ni-Mh 1.5a) and a charger for a little under 250$ 3 years ago and it was on sale. The new lithium 18v drill now cost around 220$ with 1 battery and charger.
That was a very good review. I loved the blade flying out! :D ... The battery hack is awesome. I am wondering why the look a like battery doesn't snap in? I suspect there's a small change in the shape of the battery case that might be made to allow the cheaper battery to seat properly. Which would be great!
My PlayHouse It sure does! I was just thinking there maybe a small plastic lump or something keeping the cheaper battery from clipping into the Ryobi. So maybe a quick job with a chisel or Dremel and it might click right in?

My PlayHouse Ummm, I am not sure I understood you correctly but $120.00 for a battery is a problem for me. I would own all the Ryobi tools. ..if the batteries were not so expensive. I think I saw them for $85.00 and Mr Plumber husband wouldn't let me buy one. (Boo who...pouty face...yeah, it didn't work on him either)

Please allow me to give you a word... 'that rotating thing' that holds the blade ... we call that a "collet" (call it) or a "chuck". "Collet" is technically incorrect, but that's what we 'call it' anyway. ;) Of course the way you said it was much cuter.

Never use a ni-cd battery charger for li-ion batterys, only when you like fires ect.

In the uk is the price for a 5ah £76 (101$ US) its not my budget. I wish ther where good aftermarket batterys to buy.
Don't use li-io Battery's in ni-mh chargers or opposite it could blow your Battery's, its not a joke.
