I haven't used a Jig Saw in many many years and needed this refresher for the Ryobi model I bought last year that is still new in the box. I also liked your air nailer video. Thanks for the video.
@Shannon Evans I'm going to be installing a new 72" double sink vanity in the master bath and will use it to enlarge the opening for the water lines and drain. They never make them large enough. 😢
@Shannon Evans My neighbor always borrows my RYOBI multi tool. So much that he bought his own last weekend. I've also bought into some of the RYOBI lithium 4 volt tools. It pays to have the right tool for the right job. Makes life easier. 😁
Would have liked to seen just a quick tip on how to manipulate the saw on a curve. I tried my first project that had a lot of curves in it, and found it was really difficult to get those curves to follow the lines precisely. I see a lot of holes being cut out and they look pretty close to accurate, so there must me a trick to get the blade to "turn" through the cuts.
@Shannon Evans It was actually the Christmas Reindeer project that was posted end of last year. I was cutting white birch plywood using the scroll saw blade. The blade actually got so hot that it became heat-treated and turned blue in the center of the blade. I'm not sure if I can still use it after that happened. Does it become more brittle and prone to breaking when that happens?
@Shannon Evans No, it was 1/2" I'm not sure what happened to my previous reply. It seems to have disappeared. Perhaps because I posted a link to the wood I used.
@RYOBI TOOLS USA I just started using my brand new Ryobi jigsaw model P5231 with supplied blade. I'm really disappointed. I've only used positions 0 & 1 so far; but it always cuts at a 10 degree angle to the left. I've removed and reset the blade, and it still misbehaves. I've used jigsaws for decades and never had a problem getting good alignment. But I see no adjustment for blade angle on this machine. As it is, it's fairly unusable. Is there a way to adjust blade alignment? Is tool defective right out of the box, or is it a bad blade?
Manual implies foot plate adjustment back & forth to perform plunge cut. be nice to see that done, the manual also implies storage location for hex key, maybe you could show where that is.
my blade bends when I apply just a little pressure which is needed to cut... any ideas why? It's especially bad at bending, creating irregular bevels when doing curves on wood, plywood, and mdf. I guess I need to turn the speed up and go super slow?
My Ryobi jigsaw has a tough time with anything over 1/2 inch thick . It cuts, stops, cuts stops, cuts stops until you finish. A friend thinks the standard 18V 24Wh is too small.
I can’t figure out where the Allen screw goes back in and I can’t tell in your video where you pulled it out from and you don’t put it back in at the end of it.
Excellent, clear and simple explanations on how to use my new Ryobi jig saw. Thank you
Just purchased my saw thanks for explaining it so well

I tried to cut a rectangle in 1/8” thick tv tray and couldn’t get it to turn from the pilot hole onto the straight line.
in the manual for my PBLJS01 an "edge guide" is mentioned. I am unable to find such a product.accessory on your website. please advise.
Lookin' good Shannon.✌🏽
@Shannon Evans No projects, per se, just basic repairs around the house or in the car.✌🏽

Ryobi says nothing

No height adjust?

She said variable speed trigger but that’s not true it’s only the dial not the trigger. 1:18
