Hi, Can I reset my Lock when I LOST my combination number? This is for a Back door that is rarely used so I forgat the number and would like to reset it
I don't get door makers these days, I see doors made with the glass at the same level and close proximity as the lock. A bad dude will break the glass and have access to the turn knobs on the dead bolts and the turn button on the door handles, I mean are they designing this as such on purpose?
really, is that a fire code or something I wonder. I have on both doors, a 2x4 that at night we place between the door and wall thats behind... America, there's a lot of home invasions going on too, and we practice also home carry of firearms as an added protection., I mean shits crazy out here.

I followed your instructions but something's wrong with the reset dial (the philips "click" reset) we don't hear a click at all. Does this mean the mechanism inside is broken? Can it be disassembled and fixed? Should my buddy just buy a new one? Thanks for your help; the video was top quality!
You can remove the 2 screws from the top plate and try turning it with a pair of small pliers. If not, you would have to take it off the door, remove the back cover and push the reset on the top of the chamber.
Hi Jake. I have 700 series. It worked fine with factory presets but I've done something and it's not working now. Don't know what code is now. Is there any way to reset it? Thanks Adrian from PL.

From the operation, I suspect it's using the same number chamber as the 1000. I think I have one of these sitting on my shelf in the basement.
The spindles that run through them are different. If your handy, it's easy enough to do.

They wont even let you install a double deadbolt these days.

You would need a locksmith or someone who can pull it apart to get the lost combo for you.
