- Tina Louise gained prominence in the 1960s as the iconic movie star Ginger Grant in the CBS comedy "Gilligan's Island," where a group finds themselves stranded on a mysterious island. Regrettably, the entire cast, except for Tina Louise, has passed away.
How dumb can you be to put Robert Conrad from Wild Wild West in the professor’s place ,, they don’t even look alike !
He did it on purpose to get you to comment on it, which makes the video go viral oldest trick in the book.
I AGREE
Jillagins island

I was just going to write that. 😱
Dawn wells was still beautiful at 82
I always favored her over 'Ginger' I liked her clothes more!!! And the hair style was it, two ponies. I had no curls, 😢, at 66, still no curls! Ain't gonna happen in this life!

Talking about Russell Johnson and showing Robert Conrad, brilliant!

Tina was gorgeous. I remember being fascinated by her when I was little.
Yeah, I agree about Ginger.
But I always like "Ann Marie" best, she was def cute, but not quite as "Bimbo-ey" as "Ginger " was.
Yeah, that island must have been really toxic.

The professor could make a 2-way radio out of coconuts, but he couldn't repair the boat. 😂

The boat fell completely apart in season one when the glue they used failed
The professor was always trying to fabricate nails
That's funny.
He also made batteries.
He also made medicine.
The Howells had a helluva lot of luggage for a 3 hour tour.....
they were taking those clothes to foreign lands to have them knockoffs made using cheap labor for pennies on the dollar. that's how he got rich in the 1st place.

This was my favorite show as a child. May God bless their souls. Amen.
I tested this pilot TV show for CBS TV in NYC in 1963. We knew it would be a big hit!
Thank you! We loved it!
Oh yeah and I was a guest star that show too lol
I watched Gilligan's Island for many many years after school. It was a fav.
You watched a lot of reruns. Only 98 episodes. If you watched it years, you probably saw some episodes 10 times or more.
Same! Looked forward to it. Didn't care that I saw the same episodes multiple times. There was just something about that show
@@user-cs7jq1mx6d your age had nothing to do with it?
I've been watching it the '60s and I'm still watching it every weekend...
@@user-cs7jq1mx6dYep, everyone of a certain age watched re-runs of this show after school and so many others. When I was a kid, I remember my father asking me how it was possible to watch the “I Love Lucy!” re-run episodes over and over again. I had no answer really; I just thought they were funny…even after the 7th time watching. Even now, Lucy and Ethel working on the assembly line at the chocolate factory makes me laugh like an idiot!
I'm surprised they didn't put up a picture of Ertha Kitt for Ginger and Earnest Borgnine as the Skipper.
Did you notice the second time he said the word Gilligan’s it comes out like Jilligan?
They weren't in the show unless it was the pilot episode I never saw them.

Why can't TV shows be that good again 😢
Most telling thing about this comment: no one has an answer.
It wasn't that good actually.
Because they all ,….. died? 😂
Because the higher uppers have a narrative to push . And they stifel and ruin anything truly creative by altering it . Thought the lenses of a fucked up vision . That's also why new music sucks
Because of reality fake garbage.
Tina Louise did all those dumb moves and wild costume changes with a straight face. She, herself, was no dummy. Blessings to the entire Gilligan’s Island cast and crew for the laughs and groans over the years! Thank you all…Tina Louise, you still rock!

Tina Louise is the only female actress that I know of who mastered the soft "Marilyn Monroe" eyes. That deep flirtatious gaze gave both women that special "IT" factor that so many actresses could not match. Such a beautiful lady.
Ginger was based on Marilyn. Jayne Mansfield turned down the role. She was offered it first.

Robert Conrad didn't play the professor. WtF
Yes, wtf.

I thought Robert Blake was the professor! No, wait. That was Robert Stack.
Russell Johnson played Professor "Roy Hinkley" on Gilligan's Island.
When I was a kid all of my buddies, and I were in love with Ginger, and Mary Ann. I really Loved the whole cast, and I couldn't wait to get back home after school to watch the show. They all brought families together to laugh. God bless all of you!
Gilligan's Island was filmed on the back 40 lot as the Lagoon emptied into the LA river. It was home to so many shows and Movies.
The Guard Tower from Hogan's Heroes has the palm trees from Gilligan's Island in a few scenes. Gomer Pyle, Mayberry RFD and in the middle was the train station from Gone with the Wind. The lagoon was drained and now buildings are on the site with Netflix and other studios.
That is why those isolated shows could have guest stars appear on a dessert island and a prison camp. The barracks were to the left of the Commandant's office. Parking was to the far right. Most of those actors have passed away, but many camera men and crew are still around and their families.
The reason why the boat wrecked in bad weather they had too much damn luggage and stuff.
Hahaha
What, with a professor they couldn’t fix a boat, but could make a coconut radio?
All of Ginger's evening gowns
Also Mrs.Howell’s luggage with all her clothes and jewelry, lol. The rich don’t travel light.
Ginger was my favorite character on the show followed by the professor.
Grew up watching this show in the late 70’s and 80’s.

That island must've been toxic, mostly everyone died of cancer! 🤯
I wondered the same thing!
Was that from the episode when a crate of radioactive seeds had washed up on the island?
I was thinking the same thing
Cast of zBewitched went out thr same way..Cancer ,mostly dead before 70
There is a common denominator here
Back in the 90s, I was an actor and was fortunate enough to have met her. I won’t go into the details, but I’ll just say that she gave me a kiss on the cheek and a hug. Even though I was a grown man, the nine-year-old boy me was on cloud nine.
I grew up watching Gilligan's Island. That's what gave me the urge to go to Ireland when I grew up and I've been doing it for 70 years. I'm in love with Ireland because of Gilligan.
What's Robert Conrad doing in there 🤦♂️
Blooper
They were implying it was Russell Johnson.
Purposely done to get people to talk about it in the comments, which helps promote the video in the algorithm due to engagement. It's a tactic many content creators employ.
@@SWisemanthank you for noting this, I figured it was because they used AI to put it together and that the mistakes are because the intelligence is truly artificial, haha. There are videos by a drone operator along the southern coast of Lake Michigan that use headlines like "houses are gone" and washed away from rising water (rising 4 years ago and receded) when they have not, and of course people commenting about the rich being dumb for building their houses so close to the water. It works like a charm.
A:I: voice says they do not care or are not english speakers... doesn't surprise if both tactics are at work. Possibly also if they simply do not know better. Impressed with the effort and not impressed with the lack of accuracy.
Whoa, did I just see Jim West? That was Robert Conrad, also no longer with us. He died in 2020.

Not only Tina Louise is still with us. But both actresses who portrayed Ginger Grant in the three TV movie reunions are still alive as well. One of the Gilligan's Island Saturday mornings cartoon series (there was a few different series). Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) also voiced Ginger Grant as well Mary Ann.
You're right! When they asked Tina to revamp Ginger in the movies and cartoons she refused. She claimed that the horrid show killed her career.

That was Pappy Boyington, he crash landed on Gilligans Island in the first season in his Corsair. Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway rescued him in their PT109, but through a series of bungled decision making, forgot the Castaways. Bob Crane and Richard Dawson were supposed to break out of Stalag 13, to make a rescue, but were caught by John Banner on several attempts. Colonel Klink was interviewed and stated, “HOGAN!”

Ah, what memories fellas. Come home from school and see Mary Ann and Ginger on the tube. The good Ole days!
Ginger was a man.
I met Alan Hale when he was giving away a sailboat in Hollywood. I bought him coffee at the Golden Cup, on Hollywood Boulevard. He's just as friendly in person, as he was in that show.
Cool!
And Alan Hale Sr., his father, can be seen frequently in old movies on Turner classic. Talented family.
During the shooting he call everyone buddy and give a little hug the other cast members hated it
Plus he had a seafood place in California, Alan Hales Lobster Barrel.
He wasn't too friendly when he tried to hang Clint Eastwood in Hang Em High😅
Spent my entire childhood watching Gilligan's Island.....RIP TO ALL WHO HAVE PASSED
Dawn Wells went to Stephens College in Missouri 15+ years after my mom graduated. They met and reconnected at alumni events. She was as lovely in real life as on TV may would say.
I met Dawn Wells earlier that year in March where she was the Grand Marshall of a parade in Garden Grove, CA. She was such a sweetheart, so VERY NICE.
That white sparkly gown, with the sequences, that ginger wore quite often, was so beautiful.
Sequins, not sequences. Sequence is something that’s in a particular order, like 1, 2, 3 or A, B, C.
Not quite. Borgnine rescued Pappy with Jan-Michael Vincent in a futuristic helicopter.
Man, I would come home from school beginning in the early 70’s and watch Gilligan. Usually I’d be out the door to play with my friends but they were watching it too!
Tina Louise -oh, marvelous redheaded woman-she made ginger a glamorous lady in long gowns and fabulous in the show! ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊
Tina Louise was/is the stupidest of the seven... She was told she was the star by her manager .... despite being third billed. (main star is either #1 or occasionally Last billed, and Bob Denver threatened to switch billing so professor and mary ann got mentioned instead of "& the rest" in second season.)
Tina pouted after being told she had been lied to. and refused to do anything extra even to refusal to be in the subsequent movies

Yeah she looked good in all her movies
Her makeshift SS MINNOW tarp dress was the best👍
You have her confused with Tina Turner. Tina Louise's legs were average AT BEST! And whomever said she was the hottest actress and had the best figure of her time must still be high from the drugs they did back "in her time."
She was a very pretty woman in her day. Don't exaggerate it any further than that. And that's not subjective.

In 1966, Jim Backus hosted a summer show called Continental Showcase. As a 7-year-old, I loved that show. That, and the Mickey Finn Show. And The Avengers with Steed and Mrs. Peel were on TV. And 1966 was the year that the Grinch and the Charlie Brown Christmas specials premiered. What a magical, mystical time for a 7-year-old 😊
So to me, back then, Jim Backus was Mr. Howell Mr. Magoo, the guy that hosted Continental Showcase... and the genie in a Bugs Bunny cartoon 😀
