As you may have noticed, I had to keep my voice lower for the videos shot in Jordan. If you were wondering why, it was because sometimes the dogs in the desert would hear me and begin to bark up a storm. I was able to locate two of them but the location of the other two remained a mystery. Often the echoes were such that I couldn’t even identify a direction.
@@xSoqui To its credit, MULTIPLE ants is a nightmare; and there are more then a few species of ant that have powerful and/or highly venomous bites. Bro was just playing it safe.
I left months ago. The increase in airspace closures after Iran’s threat actually took place the day before I departed. I appreciate your concern regardless though. :D
Always love how the colors of all these creatures perfectly match their environment. Love the geckos. The -"Egyptian Sand Cochroaches. (Polyphaga)- *Heterogamodes* " must be among, if not the cutest cockroaches I've ever seen, and funny how that "deathstalker" scorpion was scared off by a brave ant biting at its pincer before approaching it head-on. Adding human ancient history study in the areas is also appreciated and valuable.
I’ve enjoyed your style of videos of field work and you have allowed me to learn so much! Thank you for your effort! Do you know of other people or channels that you enjoy and learn from that do something similar that you do?
Another outstanding desert video, aided by your super HD camera. You manage to capture the alien nature of this environment, the striking rock formations, and the remarkable fauna that have adapted to it. You didn't say how old the rock engravings are? Yet again the geckos win the prize for cuteness in my eyes, despite the arguably more cuddly dormouse. The other contestants such as scorpions, darkling beetles and cockroaches didn't stand a chance, but you may differ on that of course - beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all.
Thank you so much. The rock engravings are somewhere between 4,000 to 10,000 years old. I accidentally used an estimate from a neighboring region in the original audio, so I cut it from the video.
Always nice to see some cool roaches make it into the spotlight. Have you ever considered sharing what goes on behind the scenes? Like the type of lights you use, how you select locations, and any before/after research.
I appreciate that some viewers are interested in seeing some behind the scenes content but the appeal is just too narrow. A video like that would, in all likelihood, perform quite poorly.
Great video as always. I've been wondering since a lot of your videos outside the US are in Spanish or Arabic speaking countries, do you know those languages or do you usually get around with English?
Superb as always - thank you so much for another video. Any idea re: age of those glyphs? Interested to learn about the range of dates for Jordanian pre-history.

Good idea! Also, if you see a Djinn and it starts talking to you, ignore it! They're nothing but trouble!
Be safe
Holy crap your adventures are insane
Dude just ordered myself a deathstalker today allthought its a leiurus haenggii so this video was perfectly timed
@@melonhusk Noted.
It was really cool to see the rock engravings, thanks for showing them!
You are quite welcome.
It’s time for a new video man. You’re by far my favorite video creator. I get so excited when I see you posted a video. You have my dream job!!!
>Deathstalker
>Runs from an ant
Reminds me of a video of a large croc being absolutely terrified of a house cat.
It's not in its job description

How to tell a real deathstalker from the fake one ^_^
I know that region is getting a little crazy right now, I hope you're taking care of yourself. Thanks for blessing us with another banger!

those little cockroaches were so cute. Thanks for the awesome video
0:53 Aww, it’s hugging the beetle. 🤪
Thanks for the video.
I thought it resembled like an adopted a stray kitten sleeping on someone's arm.
@ Heh. I think it would make a great postcard or tshirt.
Your scorpion videos are some of my favorites! Very much looking forward to this watch :)
I noticed you are way more careful with these. They must be more dangerous.
Hey I love your content btw pls never stop making it. Just found you after the TikTok ban and you’re prob the most chill animaltuber
Hell yes, new General Apathy!

I love your videos! They make me want to explore the world for cool animals

Geckos have the best eyes. Brilliant content

Those are the roundest roaches that i've ever seen, good video General Apathy.
I’ve enjoyed your style of videos of field work and you have allowed me to learn so much! Thank you for your effort!
Do you know of other people or channels that you enjoy and learn from that do something similar that you do?
Thank you so much. I don’t watch any ecology-related UA-cam channels.

I like how these scorpions have more pronounced eyes on the edge of their carapace
Even Great Value scorpions deserve our respect!
Great video as always. I've been wondering since a lot of your videos outside the US are in Spanish or Arabic speaking countries, do you know those languages or do you usually get around with English?
Thank you. I visit those regions more often than others mostly because they are home to some of my favorite fauna. My second language is French.
Thank you for sharing! I thought the Adesmia cancellata was really cool!
Thanks once again, GA.
I have that Mediterranean house gekko in Mobile Alabama. It survives below freezing temperatures. Great videos.
Superb as always - thank you so much for another video.

Thank you. They are between 4,000 to 10,000 years old. A wide range, I know. Someone with more expertise could narrow that down much further.
awww those sand roaches are adorable! 😊
That beetle look like it had a death wish
just watched lindsay nicole's parasite video... and i can't help but wonder if the beetle has one too
Yup, those cockroach nymphs are Heterogamodes without doubt. Polyphapga nymphs in this area will be much flatter and mottled dark brown or black.
Thank you for the identification. I edited the description.
Them's the cutest cockroaches I've ever seen
Bro how can you not love comps? They’re small and awesome. But yes hottentotta are amazing. Most are large and have great coloration
Perhaps one day I’ll have a change of heart.
Very cute. The mouse, that is.
Holy crap the insect fauna of this area goes crazy
Throwing some shade on Compsobuthus.
You know it.
Those pesky ants!
You should totally go to southeast asia sometime
ur the best
those cockroaches are adorable
the new greeters
are you ok its been a month
With that thumbnail, I thought this video was a short, and thus ignored it at first.
Enjoy al your scorpion videos, if you're in Jordan, can you find scorpions from the genus Nebo?
I left already but I’m sure I’ll be in range for Nebo again soon.
Tityus serrulatus next? Maybe tityus stigmurus?
man I would love to be where you are right now. way to cold where I live at the moment.
😔 I was hoping that wally world had upped their pet game.
how are you travelling around so much :< *jelly*
Did you get your house and land for free?
Thank you, again nothing apathetic here.
Bruh on rollback
HE SAID THE THING IN THE TITLE!!
