I can't understand guitarists trying to compete with the lead player. The guitar is an "accompaniment" not a lead. It should lift the the tune and compliment it.
absolutely agree if what you said were correct, but it is not. It was wonderful! to see the guitar player caught up in the emotion as much as I was, and around 7'05 he starts hammering the guitar. The fiddle is King and Queen and Court and impossible to be upstaged. Michelangelo's Chapel is not the artist trying to compete with God's sunset or Vin Scully calling a brilliant Dodger's game competing with the athletes on the field. I think the guitarist enhanced the performance
I understand it right now. I have played with all the great Traditional Irish musicians and what you yanks dont understand is called finesse, culture, the spaces between the notes....its not all about yeehaw and bang bang.
@@lmtt123 so the bothy band was never accused in its origins of something similar to yeehaw and bangbang? Liz Carroll is a yank, she not no good? sorry I'm just an Asian in Vancouver who cannot understand any culture outside my own so I'll defer to your advance knowledge that is clearly open to to ideas even if the people who spout them you despise
Sounds great!

Really enjoied the video. Turned the sound off and just watched Caitlin!
What an odd thing to comment. Especially when the purpose of the video is the music. Also *enjoyed.
That guys fiddle sounds like a kazoo on speed!

The Guitarist performance was just as outstanding as the fiddles. Can't really see your point.
Maybe you will understand one day.. not competing ..it did lift the tune ..and compliment it .. Good playing > All : )
