      During my stay in Antigonish for my Diploma Course with the Coady institute at Sr.Fx University in 2014 i came to know of the Celtic Colours music festival and my Canadian friend very much wanted to take me to Sydney, Cape Breton there as i am fiddle player but tickets were an issue and travel but i became a fan of Celtic Colours from then on. I have played fiddle with MBC of Antigonish in an impromptu. session who plays in Celtic colours festival. I know how rich the festival is. Love from South india.

    7:24 Having met Natalie MacMaster twice, and being completely starstruck, I find the child-like expression on her face to be so precious at this moment in the video. The music is so exciting no matter how long you’ve been doing it. Her very entrance onto the stage and excitement causes everyone else to start hootin, whoopin, and hollerin! 😆 Obviously, Beòlach and everyone on stage is passionate and grew up w the music, and loves what they do… I’m a huge fan. And Natalie is like this “big star”, yet no matter when or where, she always is “alive with it” on stage…as her grandmother once said! “I wasn’t rich enough to get a violin when I was young, but if I’d had the money, boy oh boy, I would’ve been a boilin’ player, my God, I just…I was just alive with it.”
    And at the end of the day the music is still the MUSIC and brings Natalie so much joy.

    Bonjour , quel plaisir ,je ne peux rester insensible à une telle musique ,et retrouver l'ambiance de ce pays que j'ai parcouru par 2 fois , la beauté des paysages, l'accueil des irlandais n'est pas une légende....🥰

    • @erikm8372
      @erikm8372 Місяць тому

      C'est en fait de la musique écossaise que vous entendez. Et pas même l'Écosse, mais la Nouvelle-Écosse, au Canada ! Le premier morceau, le plus lent, a été composé par un Allemand ! Mais le reste de la vidéo est purement écossais... c'est le même esprit chaleureux que celui des Irlandais. Mais ces gens sont originaires de l'île du Cap-Breton, en Nouvelle-Écosse, au Canada, au sud de Terre-Neuve. Leur musique a été apportée par les Écossais il y a plusieurs siècles. D'autres influences existent, comme la musique irlandaise, acadienne et québécoise, mais la musique du Cap-Breton est largement enracinée dans la musique écossaise des Highlands. La plupart des Irlandais ont immigré aux États-Unis, à Boston, New York, Philadelphie, San Francisco et dans les Appalaches, tandis que de nombreux Écossais ont quitté la Grande-Bretagne et se sont installés dans l'est du Canada, d'où le nom de la province "Nouvelle Écosse" ou "Nova Scotia".

    My God, Canada's beautiful, Steve.
    The disgrace that couldn't be acknowledged was a man's right as a King, above God. Not one day of cruelty ever ended, not one right that was not more than cruelly and coldly granted as the product of being fought for ever made sense to when God is small.
    But the Gates of Hell as a level cannot compete with the holy land of Cape Breton, or... Purgatory. If a million times reasoning of man was never the simple tolerableness for what it claimed was the half of it, yet had suffered past any end or beginning as such, was that. How much more the point is good and what's the problem?
    How any nation... could believe that even after... an extermination of any one world, that Jesus couldn't also in the greatest extent of lies - that kingdom that he said would not stand against his, the gates of hell - see that point, is evil.

    Lovely music but may I venture to say that I don’t much like the funky piano? It’s a distraction from the melody, IMO. Perhaps I’m too much of a traditionalist.

      Traditional Cape Breton piano here; that's how they roll! May not suit your ears, but it suits many, esp. Cape Breton musicians and their fans.

      @@janekelton Ah - I didn't know that. Irish Traditional Dance Music is more my thing (I play Irish wooden flute) and I'm not knowledgeable about Cape Breton Music. But even with ITDM, there is sometimes a fashion for the use of "bim-dritt, bim-dritt" piano and (even worse) funky, syncopated bodhran in reels and some people love it but I can't stand it. But I have to accept that that's just me. Perhaps I need professional help! But, at 70, it's perhaps too late for me :-)

      @@marconatrix Yes, indeed (...hic!). IMO, piano in traditional music is supposed to be accompaniment. But sometimes the practitioners get carried away with wanting to be noticed. If I get more into this lovely Cape Breton music, I'll have to find some that doesn't include this distracting, funky "accompaniment", just as I have had to do so with Irish traditional dance music. The problem I have in ITDM is not that the piano is funky but that the constant "plink-plonk, plink-plonk" makes every reel sound the same. I've known it to ruin whole albums. But some people love it, it has to be said.
