Thanks for the update! This is pretty similar to my routine. At 50 I don’t need a complicated routine. My hair is healthy after 5 years of learning how to take care of it so it’s easier to simplify. I do plop for 10 minutes after putting my products in soaking wet hair in the shower. It’s just enough time for me to finish getting ready and dressed. It takes out the excess water and sets my curls. I also only diffuse for around 10 min and I let my hair finish by air drying before using an oil to SOTC. I have also been washing at night, diffusing and not SOTC but sleeping in my silk bonnet.

Julie, which silk bonnet do you use? I cannot find one that will stay on my head!
Lilly silk- they have several but I have the one that has a tie and elastic. I wrap the tie around the front and tie/tuck it in. It has never come off 😊
Oh My Lord! Your hair has NEVER looked better!! The past two years, I’ve lost a lot of hair (pandemic, politics, inflation, Russia/Ukraine, anxiety ad infinitude, you name it!). I was BORN anxious so you can imagine what this has done to my hair. I’ve worn it long and wavy/curly for years and have always gotten compliments, but now I’m taking Viviscal for growth because I’ve lost so much. It’s working but I really need to have mine cut like yours because it’s so thin on the ends. I’m going to show this video to my stylist and I cannot thank you enough for the update and products you use!!! Bless you!!!

Don't understand why people are stacking 4-6 products.... for what?
Well this is good to know- going back to not brushing in products and all that. I’ve been using the Denman brush and sectioning and I don’t think I like the results as much but everyone was doing it so I figured well maybe it’s the products….or maybe the cut. I do like the fact that every strand is coated when you brush rather than rake but I’m going to go back to just raking it in.
It really is hard to believe you do not have a lot of hair- in order to get that kind of volume you have quite a bit! I would love to see the size of your ponytail when wet! 😀
Yes! I always loved the results from the Denman but I just find that I don’t get the volume that I personally love. And I don’t feel like it makes that big of a difference to warrant the extra time. :) for me anyway :) honestly, my wet pony is about the size of a dime 🤣🤣🤣

My routine is very similar to yours. I do plop , and I don’t diffuse , I just let it air dry.And being from az it dries pretty quickly.. lol 😊

Thanks fir the video I would love to see how you diffuse. I have a lot of broken hair from bleaching last year. I am brunette again but now I have a lot of hair in the front that isn’t as king as it should be. Also I never know what to do with the front of my hair. I have medium to long bangs.

I love an easy hair routine! Your volume is gorgeous! Have you tried the AG Curl Fresh Definer? It is a true one and done product for me! It is a cream product that has hold like a gel. I get great results that last for days with minimal refreshing. 😊

Your hair always looks amazing! Since I quit colorng my hair and went with the salt and pepper my curls are only waves. It looks curly but when it drys the curls are gone. I am sad and I miss my curls but I dont want to color my hair just to get them back.
Have you tried a bonding treatment? Same thing happened to me when I stopped coloring. Doing an Olaplex treatment every few weeks really helps my curl revive.
Me too. I had tight bleached ringlets but when I went natural my hair pattern-loosened so much and doesn’t hold the curl all day.
I definitely love curl clumps, but I have MUCH, MUCH thinner hair than you and this probably makes my hair look even thinner. More defined curls, but only like 4-5 of them since my hair is so thin.

I couldn't agree more about the Denman brush!! I always feel like it makes my hair have so much less volume!! Do you feel like the Dippity Do mousse gives you more volume than the Curl Smith purple one does? I'll have to give those products a try!

I feel like this was a very realistic routine. I bet more people use this than finger coiling each curl. Each one gives amazing but different results. One of the perks to curly hair!! Your hair is beautiful!
Thank you for sharing your update routine love it is similar to my hair routine the only thing is that I don't defuse my hair just I let it dry by itself and also love all those products you used thank you and take care beautiful.
I love that primer! Sometimes I use a really small amount after using a regular spray leave in conditioner, or if my hair feels really moisturized after washing & conditioning, I'll skip the sight heavier leave in & just use this. It's great for not weighing down fine hair & I always prefer to use a good heat protectant!

Do you use volume shampoo and conditioner?
I don’t… I usually use the curlsmith color recipe line or the LUS shampoo and conditioner.

When I first started watching your videos,your curls used to be more defined and beautiful,now they seemed a little bit frizzy and damaged, maybe from all the bleaching, hair dye, and straightening. ??? 🤔🤔🤔
Actually my curls are at a VERY healthy state right now. I straighten my hair about once a year so clearly that’s not the case and I’ve dyed my hair since I was 16 so nothings changed there. My hair went through heck with PCOS and the devacurl damage which was AFTER I started my channel. So if you’ve watched me for this long then you would’ve seen all that my hair went through.

For volume I found out (works on me) Curl Keepers 'Beach Must' applied to dry, D1 roots. OMG the volume was amaizing. I was reluctant to try this particular product because I thought it left hair looking dry..but oil on ends and sheen spray..really nice. 💙💛

If it’s a volumizing mousse then yes. I always go from lightest product to heaviest in my styling routine :)
